Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had! I asked if they did pol gel/hydrid nails and wanted ombré. I was told yes. Once they removed my current hybrid they told me they would have to be dipped and pink and white. I don't want pink and white or dipped! Then said they not do poly and would be builder gel. I said that is not wanted. I showed them what I wanted via a picture and told me that couldn't be done with poly. I said okay just paint pink with poly gel and gel polish they said they can't do they either . We went back and forth I left with my nails halfway off! I went somewhere else and got poly/hybrid and the exact colors ombré I wanted with gel polish on hybrid. Other place was wonderful. Would not recommend Sunny Nails to anyone. read more

I've been coming here for pedicures for about 7 years. Going 6 - 8 times a year, I have had pedicures by most of the staff. For the past few years I have been seeing one technician exclusively. I have been making appointments in advance requesting this individual. On Friday, I had an appointment at 1:00. I arrived at 12:45; 5 minutes later I was told to pick a chair. Absolutely awful experience. The water was scalding hot in the pedicure chair. The tech was rough and filed using a disposable block. It hurt the skin around my nails. It's been just over a week and my skin still has scabs. One of the masks they put on my feet and calves was also scalding hot. I got gel polish. The polish ran onto my skin and wasn't cleaned off prior to placing the lamp over my feet. If I didn't have back issues I would be doing my own toes. I know proper technique and professionalism. Went early and they were very busy, so made an appointment to come back later in the day. When I came back, sat there for about 45 min without anyone even putting water in the bowl. Decided to get up and leave. I understand they are very busy, but the point of making an appointment and coming back is to avoid the wait. The staff was very polite and kind in the beginning. However, the nail tech promised they could follow a design and clearly were not able to. Not only is the design very far from the inspiration photo and sloppily done, but the gel finish is sloppy and uneven. The gel was cured all around my nail beds and the shape of the nails was inconsistent. If they could not handle a design, I wish they would have encouraged me to get something more simple instead of up charging me for a sloppy job. When I called to ask for my money back once I was home and realized that I just wasted $80 on a shitty manicure, management hassled me until their final offer of $15 back on my card if I called back the next day. When I went there the first time they gave me Coke water and even lotion bottle they're so sweet always smiling saying hello even the people that I'm not really working with on my nails they say something and they complement my nails too. And then a man called me back to get my pedicure and he dug into my nail cuticle and it started to bleed and then look at me and then giggle and pointed to my big toe. So now I have and infection in my (BIG TOE) been on antibiotics every since. This is not a Nail Salon that cleans their instruments .... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I recently had my nails done here (a gel mani) which after THREE days, started to chip on 6/10 nails. This is unusual in my experience with gel, which is why I paid more for gel vs regular polish. I called and explained my situation and was instructed to come in to get it fixed. They told me to come in at 5pm and took my name down. I arrived at 4:50pm. Sat for 20 mins before anyone acknowledged me. When they did I explained my scenario and that I was instructed to come in and pointed out my name in the appointment book. They told me to wait 20 more mins, 10 more, then ten more. Finally they came and asked me to come back at a later date after waiting 50 mins past the appointment time because they were busy with "paying customers". I explained that they instructed me to come in, and that I was not available the day following due to work. I said that I would like a refund if they could not fix my nails that day, to which they said no. I asked why they instructed me to come in, and they said they didn't think they would be busy... I ended up walking out and will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Certainly will not be returning due to poor quality and customer service. They lost a loyal customer (every other week) because of their poor outlook and inability to stand behind a commitment to quality. read more

Ugh..not pleased at all with the overall manicure/pedicure. First off, I was a walk in and waited a half hour. That's reasonable. But while waiting, I was subjected to a disgusting woman next to me eating a pizza while talking on her phone...in the nail shop! How is that allowed!? How is she not disgusted by it herself?! There is nail dust and air brushing chemicals in the air (the technicians are wearing masks for God's sake, and you're stuffing your face!? I don't get it). So after waiting in the chairs for a half hour, they show me to the pedicure massage chair, which beat the heck out of me and bruised my back, but whatever it felt good. I sat there for nearly another half hour before someone started working on my feet. Well, when the man finally pulled up his stool, he didn't speak a lick of English and I couldn't interact with him or explain to him what I did and didn't want done. Very frustrating. While he was quite attentive to the roughness of my heels and made sure to buff and scrub them down (that was the one good thing), he did a terrible job painting my toes. Also, he got topcoat all over my flip flops. Totally unacceptable. If I thought he was going to be that sloppy, I would've insisted on the flimsy disposable slippers they normally put on customers. They did place a hot towel on my legs after scrubbing them down with some kind of exfoliater, but the towel was tattered, strings hanging off of it like a car wash rag, and it had dark stains all over it. The hot towel felt nice, but again, it was dingy and torn apart. Getting to the manicure, it chipped immediately and he didn't cut off enough of the cuticle, but I couldn't communicate with him to tell him. To boot, there was not a DROP of barbicide in sight in this place, which screams unsanitary. I have no idea how they are (if they are) sterilizing any of the equipment they use because I didn't see any disinfectant glass jars for the files, cuticle cutters, etc. The motif inside was Buddhas everywhere and for some odd reason, a plastic green palm tree. I have no idea why. Oh yeah, and in case you were wondering if they do classy, 3 inch long bright blue acrylics, I witnessed it -- they do and it's not cute. Mani/Pedi $40, plus tip. I normally don't go to Sunny Nails, but the day before my wedding, my mom asked if I'd join her there for both a mani/pedi. It is close to my home, so I figured why not. That was Friday, and by yesterday, Sunday, my French manicure was in shambles. The white is chipped on 10/10 fingers and the pink is peeling away from the white tips on 9/10 fingers. (Will see if I can post a photo) On Friday, I relaxed at home, and Saturday all I did was walk down the aisle, eat food, and hug people. Yesterday, we relaxed at the hotel til the afternoon and then rested some more. I didn't expose my nails to a lot of water, and I didn't do a single chore or something that would tear them apart. New to Ohio so looking for a good nail place. Great personalities and very polite when it comes to the staff. But quality of nails is very poor. Went in for a fill. Nails are very bumpy, wavy. Gel is sloppy and so high up on nails looks like I need a fill already. Gel is very thick and rubber like. Price is very high as well ($40 for a fill and gel only) very disappointed in quality. After having nails done an hour, gel was still rubber like and mushy to touch. Come to find out the nail tech added normal polish on top of gel color (why I'm not sure) then didn't let it dry before putting the clear gel coat on. Went here instead of my normal salon (mistake). They got to me immediately which was nice and the man who did my nails was gentle. The gel polish though is so streaky and sheer that they look horrible. They're also the cats eye (you literally can't tell) so I paid more for these. I get gel to protect my natural nails and this gel is so thin. I'm so upset that I just want them off right away so I can fix them myself. If you're thinking of going here don't. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I was charged $76 for a full set with gel. Very very overpriced. The man who did my nails was very aggressive and rude. He was man-handling my hands and arms. I went back in to get my money and was told my full set was $60 because of the length and shape. They claim my nails are long and pointy, they are not. They are not even an inch long. The website says a full set is $27 and up. So I am not sure how it ended up at $60. Then an extra $16 for gel. After speaking with the owner, I was told all I could get back was a $10 gift card. I got my nails done by a very unfriendly woman. She jammed her nails under my nails and was very rough. A few days later, my gel nails are peeling off when initially, they told me the gel would last 1-2 weeks. When I called, the owner told me I needed to come today to fix them or he can't do anything to help me. I've been coming to this place for a long time. I would say, I've been coming here off and on for the last 4-5 years. I come every 2-3 weeks for shellac, once a month for my pedicure (deluxe)...and they showed me they really don't care about loyal customers. If you're into short reviews...just save your money and go somewhere else. If you want the whole story, here it goes. I went in as a walk in for shellac. I wanted matte black nails. (They have a "matte" clear polish they apply to make the color look flat.) they gave me some guy I've never really paid much attention to who could barely work the implements. Shellac requires 4-5 coats of various nail polishes that are cured in the UV light between each step for a hardened nail polish gel that lasts about 2 weeks. As this guy applies the matte (supposed to be on top) coat to my nails one of the techs comes over and tells him he forgot to do the last top coat of shellac before applying it. He tries to play it off and apply the last step OVER the matte finish (which is not shellac) and then REAPPLY the matte finish on top of that..I told them it obviously looks bumpy and gross because he applied too many coats. He kept trying to get me to checkout knowing he messed up and was reluctant to fix it after I told him multiple times I had to hold my hand up to his and another techs face and bluntly say "I know you guys aren't blind and can see how bad this looks. Fix it and stop wasting my time acting like it looks okay." My appointment ran over 2.5 hours for a simple shellac mani because they make mistakes and try to sweep it under the rug. Now here I am 5 days later with nasty chipped nails that are chipping 9 DAYS before I should even be returning for another appt. They ripped me off and wasted my time. Usually I don't leave reviews but this is the 3rd time Sunny has pissed me off. THEY SUCK. Please don't waste your time or money...go somewhere else. read more
