Very shortly thereafter, Dr Ruoh Sim saw me. Even though it was the end of his shift, he heard me out on ALL my concerns and provided a solution for each one. I received a breathing treatment in the office, and the doctor gave me prescriptions before I left the office. Visit was 1 hour in total that included roughly 45 minutes of treatment time. Note: I am traveling from overseas, paid out of pocket, and had a flight scheduled for the following day. Dr Ruoh treated me with all of these factors in mind. Professional, kind, and thorough.

To accommodate those in wheelchairs (or for the entertainment of small children) they have a button on both sides of the front door that will automatically open it for you. They don't have onsite parking but there is plenty of street parking available in the area. It is recommended that you book before turning up to this medical centre as they are usually quite busy. Booking in the morning you will obviously have more of a chance of getting in and seeing your selected GP. Although this medical centre has all the niceties about it, it is very expensive. I suppose it is Remuera and that's to be expected, but it's certainly not cheap to come here. They do however accept community service cards which can sometimes help discount the price.

So obviously no one loves coming to get a blood test, well some people might, but the majority of us don't. I've never really minded it - I liked getting them at school because of the time out of class and the lolly, and I kinda had a secret hope that someone would faint. I'm sorry, I'm a bad person. Diagnostic Medlab is the place you get referred to by your doctor to get some blood tests. I can only speak for this particular one, but I am sure they are all good, but seriously, the people that work here make the experience fine! I have only ever encountered women and they are all the type who you feel that even if you were about to faint or something, they would cal you 'love' or 'sweetheart' and pat your hair until you felt better. They are also super professional meaning no mucking round, no long waits and the best job possible. I'm not sure if you have a choice when it comes to places to get a needle in your arm, but just know that if you're on you way here, you're in good hands.

If you have any queries about your hearing in general, come ask the friendly team, they are there to help. If you have a hearing aid too, and if you are holidaying in Auckland (or a local) and run out of batteries this is a good place to stock up on supplies. They also can also refer you onto someone who can do ear syringing if you overdo it in the water at Takapuna Beach and get Swimmers ear, which is such a helpful service!

Whenever you make an appointment with RRMC, you may as well tack 30-50 minutes on to the end of the quoted time, because they are constantly late. Take a book (or maybe even a tent) for the waiting room; you're going to need it. That said, if you can get an appointment with Dr Phyll (I am not kidding), it's worth the wait. Being seen by Dr Phyll was one of the very best experiences with the medical profession I have ever had in my life. She is a wonderful doctor with a great presence and genuine care for her patients. Whenever I tussle with the idea of getting a new doctor, I'm reminded that she is the reason why I stay.

Furthermore I wrote an email to the clinic shortly after my appointment raising my concerns and 36 hours later I'm yet to receive a response; not even a simple acknowledgement that they have received my message. I'm not saying the entire practice is bad, just that I had one terrible experience which prompted me to switch my GP within hours of having left the clinic.

At this stage Glenfield Family Doctors were at their old location inside the Pharmacy on the same road just a few numbers down to the left. Years on, I continue to visit Jocelyn for check up's and when I come down with the flu, and also bring my little 16 month old to visit her when he also gets a bug. I love the new location of 575 Glenfield, as they are situated inside a bungalow and it's very homely and bright. The reception waiting room has some great toys and games for my little toddler to amuse himself with while he waits his turn too which really helps ease the time. The doctors and nurses at Glenfield Family are a wonderful cheerful group of ladies, who are professional and experts in what they do. I am always well looked after in every respect of my health when I walk in the doors of this clinic. Thanks so much Glenfield Family!
