I took it to another dealer who determined that there was a very slow leak. For $176.00 they recharged it and topped up the refridgerant, it worked fine for the remainder of the summer. Next year, it failed again. This time the dealer repeated the recharge and added a sealant $248.00. It functioned fine for the rest of the summer and is functioning again this summer. Fast forward, I just took my car in to Midas as the exhaust was noisy. Midas quoted me $1056.00 to replace the whole exhaust system. I took it to another dealer, they showed me a break in the pipe where the resonator connects to the muffler. They repaired this break by replacing a piece of the pipe - cost $244.00 including replacement of a brake light! Conclusion, Midas is looking to how much they can get out of you - not for creative solutions that work well and cost less.

When I purchased this vehicle, it already had problems that they never fixed and this has lead to thousands of dollars. When I spoke to the manager, he simply told me that cars break down. I just spent $1475 fixing it and that doesn't include the broken trunk, cruise control, or the defrost. I bought a lemon. My 2004 Dodge…read moretransmission went down in Weyburn, and the person the Dodge dealer uses wanted almost 7k to just rebuild a built up heavy duty transmission. I called Trent at Gerry's and he informed me that he could do the same thing for around 5k. He tried to see what he had on the shelf, dealt with my repeated phone calls and stupid questions with utmost professionalism, was unable to find what we needed on the shelf and needed my case. Told Trent I would drop it off at 1pm in couple days when the dealer had it out. He said it would be enough time for a quick turnaround but more time may be needed depending on the problem. The transmission arrived at 2:00pm due to traffic and construction. Even though we were late dropping it off, it was ready by 4:30pm the same day painted and looking better than ever. As my truck makes me my money, and pays for my living, a quick turnaround like this is important or I lose money every day without it. Since then I've put 2500km on the transmission and the truck feels brand new, shifts have never felt smoother. Thanks Trent and crew at Gerry's Transmission! After chatting with him afterwards, I found out that Gerry's has been in business for 35 years.
