I still play this course…read moreregularly, and right now in the fall of 2025, it might be in the absolute best shape I have ever seen it. Not much in the way of dead patches except where course turns to woods, kind of expected. Greens are in excellent shape, but I will say on my last round, LIGHTNING fast. Hole number 6 needs to be fixed. There is no way to stop your ball even if it lands in the fairway, from rolling all the way down the hill to the right. The grass there won't stop it, and it will likely end up lost in the brush by the small drainage creek. I don't like losing balls on good golf shots. I would really like to see railroad ties, or some kind of barrier installed to stop this. I'll hit from down there, fine, but losing a ball every time is not my idea of fun. This is why I can't give the course 5 stars. At least hole 2 has improved. Prices remain very affordable to ride 18. This is also a nice place to come and practice. They have a practice green, chipping range, and a full service driving range. I do wish they had a medium size for range balls, as the gap between the small and large bucket is vast. I often wish I had something in the middle. Overall, I consider this my "home" course, and it is the one I play most often as it's fairly easy to get onto. I recommend this for anyone that is looking for a decent challenge at a laid back course. This is not the place to come if you want premium amenities and rangers that police the course a lot.

They refused to let us pay for another cart then gave us trouble when we offered to just pay for her even though she was not playing. (It was a monday afternoon and completely open playing) So we had her leave and thought it was going to be the end of our trouble. Until we were harrassed again for "playing extra holes" while looking for a club my friend left behind. Considering how bad of shape the course is in you would think the ranger would be more concerned with the course than harrasing paying customers. Never again.

It's the kind of place you notice immediately because everything looks freshly maintained, from the landscaping to the walkways and it gives off a clear "we care about this space" vibe. The park has a covered picnic shelter, a large grass area and the bonus of public restrooms. There is parking nearby as well. The park leans more towards calm and contemplative rather than active. Other than the cute painted piano, there is nothing active here. They don't have any playground equipment or splash pas or sports fields. If you're looking for swings and slides and ballfields, head to Rich Park a mile or two away. Main Street Park works best as a clean, simple downtown green space. There is no playground equipment, walking trails, tennis courts, etc.. Now, there is some open green space in the back if you want to throw a football around or goof off. There are a few benches, picnic tables and of course a really nice water feature. There are also restrooms which are new and clean. Nice place to rest if you are hanging out in downtown.

The course is short and fairly open due to the recent mass tree removal but is hilly so it plays tougher than you would think based on yardage. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in good condition with the exception of a couple greens. The greens were a little closer to the slow side but not unreasonable. I liked that they had the 100, 150 and 200 yard markers in the fairway as well as on the cart path making it easier to get the approximate yardage from anywhere. Pace of play was decent for the most part but there are a handful of blindshots that you have to check to see if the group in front has moved on. This is a good course if you haven't been out in awhile and want to get some course action swings in over a driving range without being overly challenged.

This course was beautiful and play was very reasonable priced given the quality of the course. The carts were quiet and comfortable. The holes were well-labeled and the course was easy to follow. The staff was welcoming and kindly directed us to our first hole and cart. I really enjoyed this experience and appreciate Oak Valley for making my first golfing experience really great!
