Do not rent fron this management company. We rented #24 in August 2018 which is advertised as having beds for 10 people with A/C. The price was $3600 for 7 nights. When we arrived, there were beds for only 8 people and A/C only in 1/2 the home. So 2 of our party slept on couches and 4 were uncomfortably warm due to the 90 degree temeratures that week. The grill had not been cleaned and was too disgusting to use, so rather than our planned meals outdoors, we cooked indoors. About the entertainment system: the manager, Carol, knew nothing about how to use the sound system or the TV, which had inputs and that were not at all familiar, so she called the owner, who knew nothing as well. The TV and sound system was not properly wired for use and so these were not usable to us during our stay. The owner actually came to the house on our first day there to finish some laundry, which we found very unprofessional as well as an intrusion on our vacation. After finishing her laundry, she told us not to use 2 of the light switches. She put post-it notes on them with the message "don't touch" and said if they were switched, "bad things will happen." None of us knew what that meant but we certainly did not touch them and were concerned about the safety of the home's wiring. The owner also appoligized for the poor condition of the main living area rug, which was torn and dirty, and said she would replace it next year. This, of course, was no help to us this year. Finally, there was a leak of the kitchen sink spray nozzle, a minor problem compared with everything else. We overlooked this, and agreed not to use the spray nozzle. No problem. But when the deposit was not returned 2 weeks after our vacation was over, I e-mailed the manager, Carol. She informed me the owner would keep the deposit to repair the leaky nozzle. Wow. I was then charged for replacement of a 1990's model faucet which needed to be updated anyway. About us: the people staying in the home included 2 well respected local physicians, 2 senior citizens, 2 family members from California, and 4 children ages 11-14. Everyone was well behaved. None of us drink or smoke. We respect the properties we stay at. We are excellent tenants and rent a place like this every year. We were looking for a place we could rent annually, but this is not it. We will not work with Sunrise properties again. The manager and the home owner proved to be unprofessional and they obviously do not want repeat customers. I'll choose a VRBO property next time; my VRBO experiences have all been excellent so far. read more

Please do not use this rental agency. We rented a house the week of July 4th. It was extremely hot and humid outside, but inside was even worse. The AC was broken, and upon calling the agency it was implied we were not using the thermostat correctly. After many phone calls and hours of waiting an HVAC person was finally sent. This however did not fix the problem. It was 84 degrees in the house and 94 degrees outside. With 12 in our party, including 2 babies, we had to leave the house and stay elsewhere for the next 24 hours until the problem was "solved". (Which was a band-aid for a larger problem). I rent through VRBO 2-3 times per year. At each place I've stayed there are very clear directions/instructions about the house and leaving procedures. This house had NONE, leaving us with many many unanswered questions the entire week. The agency did request we do not use the owners towels. We brought our own bath towels and beach towels, but were unsure if that included dish towels. Dish towels were out and accessible in the kitchen. We did use some of them, but washed them before leaving. We were charged $100 from our security deposit for this. Unbelievable!!!!!!! The house itself was lovely, but there was an ant problem in some of the rooms. If that was the only issue, I could live with it and not write a negative review. Wanted to rent a property that the calendar showed was available. Called Sunrise every day for a week and no one answered the phone. Left a message regarding which property I was interested in and the dates. Never received a call back. Homeowners ought to think twice about using this management service to rent their properties. We rented House #6A, N4846 Lakeshore Dr, Town of Princeton from Carol at Sunrise Property Management over the 4th of July week this year (2012). We did not have a good experience. The house advertises Central A/C. It did not work very good, and according to the A/C repair man that came out, it was not big enough for that size house. We could not turn on the oven to cook as most of the time the house was above 80-85 degrees on the inside with the shades pulled down to keep the sun out, and the oven would have only made it worse. When we brought it up to Carol at Sunrise Property Management, she said the owner said to spray some WD40 on it to make the loud squeaking go away and to just leave it run as he got it down to 78 the week before, (when it was not hot out), and that he planned to replace it in the fall. We paid close to $3,000 for the week and we are being asked to spray WD40 on our vacation, and to stick around for the A/C repairman and be there when he gets there to let him in! I m not the property manager! Carol said she has rented this property for over 10 years with no complaints, but must not understand things do break and don t work and are expected to be fixed since it was advertised and the customer paid for it and expects it. She also said it was only b/c it was so hot out. Last time I checked, I think Central air works no matter what temperature it is outside. We spent most of our time at a relatives house who also lives on the lake and his central air worked fine, and a much bigger house. Obviously replacing the A/C unit in the fall did not help us out and when I asked for a little compensation (15%) since we did not get what was advertised, Carol basically said the owner was not going to do anything, and she does not make enough money or she would have paid us. I have filed a compliant with the Better Business Bureau so others going on vacation don t get their vacations ruined too. It should be posted on the BBB Wisconsin site sometime in September 2012.
