This is asking me to chose a star for quality. My score would be a negative 1000, but that is not…read morean option. We hired Anthony Brooks to remodel our master bath, bedroom, powder room and launder/mud room. He completed approximately 3 half days of demolition and left the job. We paid &75,000.00 and he wanted more money. The entire thing was a scam as far as I can tell. I personally have had 7 other people contact me stating he did this to them as well. I had 2 of his previous employees tell me he owes them money as well. You would need a team of attorneys should you hire this person. Go to Las Vegas instead, you might have a chance there. We ended up hiring Jon Sandvig of Sandvig Construction in Eau Claire, WI and he came in did the clean up and remodel. A wonderful contractor and his team was polite, professional and fabulous. Top quality in every category you can think of. Hire him! Now he gets 5 stars! (Do not hire Brooks--careful he might be working under a new name)

We hired BHR to do a remodel of 2 bathrooms, laundry room, install new interior doors, some trim…read morework, and a special project for the laundry room. We did substantial research prior to hiring them and read as many online reviews that we could find. Unfortunately , their work and management was nothing like what was advertised . We experienced many issues and they appeared right from the start. These issues include but are not limited to the following: -Assigning/hiring qualified people for given tasks of the project. -Communication/scheduling workers for the project. There were many days and even weeks that no work was done. -Product quality issues such as doors needing to be sent back multiple times and in the end, still weren't right. -New floors in both bathrooms having parts ripped up and relaid due to improper installation . -Wrong measurements of both showers resulting in walls having to be built out on existing walls. -Poor painting and drywall work. -Mishandling of custom piece for laundry room project resulting in us having to redo the majority of it ourselves. -Incorrect size strike plates on new doors that we had to replace ourselves due to the fact that they were hitting the new trim. -Bathroom ductwork made of shiny tape and cardboard. We would like to note here that it is customary and also in our contract to have a final walkthrough to note and discuss the finished project and address any concerns. We were not given that opportunity . In addition to these quality control issues, there were significant failures in the management of our project and their customer service when these issues were addressed. There was no real responsibility taken for the issues and when issues were brought up, the response was often borderline hostile and combative and seemed to be placing blame on us. Additionally , our project started mid January and was supposed to be at least habitable by March 1st. It was not and went months past what we were told and was all due to their in-house delays. Given that we were out of the house for a month and a half for them to be completely unhindered for this project, we were taken aback time and time again by their responses to our frustration with the constant time delays. Management stated that these issues were not normal and the our project was a "perfect storm" of events. While we appreciate that they acknowledged the situation , they really did nothing to actively rectify or prevent similar problems from arising during the rest of the project. With all of this, we have had to cover additional costs in both time and money due to the many mistakes made by this company, many of which could have been avoided if there had been proper communication and management from the beginning . So for these reasons and many more, we would NOT recommend this company. We did not receive the service, workmanship , or quality promised by this company.

Big Foot Blacktop - Inconsistent finish and cold joint

I found Bigfoot from a mailer and they were able to fit me in, but for a substantially higher cost then others quoted. I didn't want to wait until spring, so I went with them - In hindsight, I should have just waited and hired someone else. The completed driveway was not what I was expecting for the money paid. There were several cold joints, which on a 34x54 driveway there shouldn't have been any. The thickness and finish was very inconsistent and roller lines were visible. They did a poor job with prep and grading which led to many low spots which held water. Weeds and grass started growing up through the thin spots leaving creators and blisters. The little bit they did excavate they just dumped across the street on a neighbors driveway without asking - I found this out later from the neighbors what had been done. Damage was also done to the concrete in front of the garage which they tried to cover with asphalt. Communication with this company is almost non-existent. It took several months to just get them out to come out and look at what was going on. It was finally agreed they would rip out and replace the driveway in the spring. Fast forward to spring this year, it again took several months to get an answer on when they would come out to redo their poor work. Driveway was finally replaced again the first week of July - about 10 months since the first time they were out. This time it took one entire day to remove the asphalt, and again no prep or excavation was done. They damaged the concrete even more even after it was specifically asked to be careful not to break or chip it any further. It was also asked if more dirt was to be excavated to correct the drainage and thickness inconsistencies as well as transition to the street. But these questions were interpreted as being aggressive by the owner present on site. Overall, the replacement looks exactly the same as the work performed in the fall last year. One noticeable cold joint, roller lines, and inconsistent thickness. The driveway still puddles water and is overlapped onto the street because they didn't prep correctly. The plow this winter is going to destroy the end of the driveway again because it is higher than the street and not a clean transition. I am all for supporting the small local business, but this is what $9k work looks like from these guys - just disgusting. Pictures say a thousand words, there are many.
