Isabella was so patient with both of our boys. They absolutely loved her and gained a ton of confidence in the water!

Coach Weston…read moreappears to know swimming and during our five sessions she provided a lot of help for my eight year old daughter. So, why the one star? Through our five private 1:1 sessions with Priscilla she never showed up on time. Often arriving 15-20 minutes late, never with an explanation or an apology. For two sessions she didn't show up at all and for one other she double booked a group lesson over our private lesson and asked us to move ours. I would suggest anyone working with her go into this expecting lots of frustration to go along with the swim training. Based on my work with her she does not approach her relationship with her students in a mutually beneficial way. She acts like she is doing us a favor instead of realizing that an instructional relationship requires mutual respect and open communication. Overall a very disappointing experience for my 8 year old daughter and a very frustrating one for her parents. Also, there are three lessons that we asked for a refund for, two she didn't show up for and one she requested we reschedule. No refund has been given. Proceed with caution...

However, she Doesn't know how to identify swimmers' core problem! There are lot of details can't just read from online. She can only teach little kids but not state or regional level swimmers... NO NO NO!!!! Some Swimmers got worst after her demotivated languages !!! She claims she had worked with an "Olympic" coach ,as part time assistant coach, for few or one day(s) a week back in decade ago ! First of all , the coach she mentioned seems not coaching anymore ( according to my search, may be he passed away decade ago, please verify with their current head coach, his wife) . So..now.. who knows if her assistant coach position is even existed! Secondly, assistant coach can be a little kid helping whatever for the coach , what exact job she did for the coach, who knows!? I guess no one could even remember most of the part time workers there . Please everyone THINK!! ! Something suspicious about her background... check and verify from someone!

They were so cold I had to pull all out of the pool within 10 minutes of starting lessons due to the shivering they were experiencing. Enough was enough so I canceled. Now I'm being told it was a known issue but parents and swimmers were not told of it prior to entering the pool. They are still charging me for the coming month despite freezing my kids without proper warning of a known issue. Beware of their contracts and know they hide issues letting your kids be the ones to have to freeze.

I'm very impressed at the level of safety, professionalism, and training at this swim school…read more Safety is the number one priority to me for swimming. The teachers, though seemingly pretty young, have been trained well to follow procedures to make sure each child is safe. I've been told what some of the safety procedures are and have witnessed the teachers being very attentive to each child while in the water. The kids have a little platform in the water at the side of the pool where they wait for their turn. And in the younger classes, there is another platform they can stand on at the other "side" of the pool. For younger classes, the other "side" is only a few feet away. The teachers here are also trained to assist children who are uneasy/crying/shy. Multiple times when my child didn't want to go in the water, another teacher came up to us right away to help him get in and feel comfortable. They are trained with kids too and know how to be initiative to kindly take them out of my hands to get in the water. There seems to always be more staff than just teachers and the life guard, so there's always someone to help in times like this. I love the flexibility here. You get 12 makeup classes for the year, and you can let them know even one minute before class that you can't make it. Then they give you a virtual token to makeup the class at any other time you were free. We've been doing a lot of makeups, and because of this the teachers change, but my kids don't seem to mind because there's a system of things they do in their lesson that they are already familiar with. They also offer events for members on some nights for free swim and other activities. And they also offer family swim days at certain times of the week. Free for members on some of these days or a small fee for other days. My 7 year old learned how to swim in about 5 months here. We had a few weeks we missed and had a few breaks in between too. He's now swimming with his head underwater by himself for the whole width of the pool. Thanks Goldfish!

Good Instructors but Overcrowded and Not Much Progress…read more I feel like I can give a fair review of Big Blue Swim School because my kids went there for about two years, starting when they were in first and third grade. The setup is nice--they divide kids by age and skill level and test them on different swim skills throughout their sessions, which last about 45 minutes. All of the swim instructors were consistently kind and patient. We never had an issue with any of them personally. However, one of the biggest downsides was the class size. Sometimes there were too many kids in a single swim lane with just one instructor, which meant my child might only get about 10 minutes of actual instruction in the entire 45-minute session. They do run promotional pricing, which is nice at first, but once that ends, it gets expensive. My son eventually reached a higher level where he wasn't learning anything new, and my daughter stayed at the same level for months even though she was clearly improving. It seemed like they didn't track the younger kids' progress as closely, possibly because the classes were overcrowded. The facility itself is clean, and the locker rooms were always well-maintained. Parking can be a bit tricky since the lot is shared with several other businesses, and you definitely need to book classes well in advance--especially the earlier sessions, which tend to be smaller and less chaotic. One thing I wish they focused on more was water safety and survival skills, not just swimming technique. Overall, it's an okay place, but I'd give it a solid three stars--nothing more, nothing less.
