You can find free parking by the residential area South of 7th Ave around Laurel St, and walk across the little park bridge which extends the park over the busy 6th Ave. Good variety of terrain for dogs to play - field, pond, waterfall, hills, woods, bushes... Friendly people and well-behaved dogs.

To start, of all the dog parks i've been to since i've moved here, the people by far are the nicest. they spend a lot of time with their dogs and there are a lot of families here, which is really nice to see. Located just north (i believe) of the airport, there is a large parking lot and a short walk to the beach. there is a path going to the end (which we didn't get to) and while there is a lot of big rock separately the river from the beach, there are substantial cleared areas so the dogs have easy access to the water in several places. As it was so hot there were a lot of dogs in the water - however there was a fairly strong current so i wouldn't advise encouraging your dog to fetch unless they are good swimmers. I met a lovely lady when i first arrived who gave me a layout of the land. she said if i walked there during low tide there was a great area towards the end of the park (you could tell it was the end because there was a pirate sign) where we could walk out quite a ways. will look forward to spending more time there when the weather is a bit cooler!

There is quite a bit of mud after and during rainy days though so do keep that in mind. We love it here and cannot wait to go walk the perimeter in between rainy days.

This park is wonderful, smack dab in the middle of Couver city and yes it's perfect. There are great views of the south of the city and full of blue skies. Yes the ground gets dry in the late summer. So what, let the hounds enjoy the dust bowl. Yes it does get muddy in the early spring. So what if you can wash your kid you can wash your hound. Water is available at the washroom and there is a water fountain at the pitch and putt.

went to blossoms after dark at david lam park, and it was packed, but still a really nice evening…read more the cherry blossom trees looked beautiful lit up at night, with rows of soft glowing pink stretching across the park, almost like a canopy of light. the city skyline in the background added a striking contrast, with glass towers reflecting the glow, while the crowd underneath gave everything a lively festival feel. there were tons of people taking photos, lining up at food trucks, and watching live performers. groups were spread out across the grass, while others moved between vendors and interactive art installations, so even with the crowds, the atmosphere felt energetic rather than overwhelming. david lam park sits right along false creek in yaletown and is named after david lam, british columbia's first chinese canadian lieutenant governor. it's known for its wide open waterfront lawns, scenic views of the city skyline, and its seamless connection to the seawall, making it one of the best spots in the area for a walk along the water. the park is especially well suited for all kinds of activity, with a dedicated bike lane and plenty of space for walkers, joggers, and cyclists to move comfortably. beyond that, it also offers a playground, basketball court, and tennis courts, making it just as appealing for casual visits as it is for more active outings. it's also a great place for picnics, especially on a clear day by the water. while the blossoms were undeniably beautiful at night, with the soft illumination giving everything a dreamy, almost cinematic feel, they're just as pretty during the day in a different way. in daylight, the natural colours come through more vividly, the whites and pinks feel brighter and more delicate, and the contrast with the blue sky and water makes the whole scene feel lighter and more open. the nighttime glow adds atmosphere, but the daytime view lets the blossoms stand out for what they are, which is part of why it feels just as special. also, fair warning: mentally ignore the canada geese if you can, they can get a little aggressive at times, they're protected, and you're very much a guest in their space. proceed with caution and maybe watch where you step.

On the edge of the park there as a vendor selling fruits and berries which looked tasty. Gravitated towards the "play area" which was very small and seemed to be linked to a school? There was a group of kids wearing pinafores playing on the playground who were quite rude. My child tried to engage them in play and they were mean and would not interact with them. Other parents in the park were taking up one whole park bench for themselves and would not share even though I had a suit case and backpack with me. We did not stay long at this park. I googled and there was another park nearby so we walked to that one. I will say there is more to this park than we initially saw. We walked to George Wainborn park from here and ended up walking along the sea wall to come back near this park (as it had restrooms which were FILTHY, they were hosing off all the goose poop but basically just made it liquid instead of a solid) which was disgusting to walk through let alone have to wheel luggage through and I did see more green areas of this park. I guess it is impressive that there is such a large green space in an urban area? but this is not a place I would return to.

The entrances are both on the opposite side of the water (probably to keep the dogs safe from getting tangled with the bike lane). Park is mostly cedar chips with some sand. Tip: The overall size of this beach is fairly small when compared to that of most of the other beaches in the area, especially Stanley Park and Kits. The parking for this place is a fair distance away and up the hill, across from the main railway.  The trails you'll find here aren't any different than those found in other nearby parks, so all-told this is probably a place best left for those who live nearby.

They did fix/change the entrance as I haven't been here for a while. They have restrooms here as well. There is a small parking lot at the entrance, not sure if it is free but I think it is. It can get a little busy in the summer and on weekends/holidays........
