Not by staff, but a guest. Why wouldn't you tell a guest at check-in? Give them the option to maybe change then? When questioned, I was told I could leave and wouldn't be charged. So why wait. Other than this, which I assume is rare, the rooms are dated and the bathroom has staines on the walls. Maybe in a pinch, but won't be a top pick in the future.

They get a lower number of stars because at the begining of our stay, I pulled at the sofa bed and the sheets already on the sofa bed were pretty dirty. I went downstairs to the front desk and spoke to the night manager and got some extra sheets for the sofa bed. She was apologetic, but it wasn't the best start. On a trip, especially to attend a funeral, we didn't spend too much time in the room. The breakfast setup was decent and pretty efficient. Like I said, good location, and it was a last minute trip.

The biggest issue was the excessive noise from other guests--it was constant and made it nearly impossible for us to rest. What made things worse was the complete lack of follow-up from management. I was told to contact the manager directly, which I did multiple times, leaving three voicemails. Not a single call was returned. I even escalated the issue to corporate, and while they assured me the manager would reach out, that never happened either. I understand that hotels can't control every guest, but they can control how they respond to issues--and in this case, there was no response at all. The lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. If you're looking for a place where customer concerns are taken seriously, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

The lack of that fancy latte machine was my first clue. The room though was nice and I slept well on a good mattress and a reasonably good pillow. It is quiet here too , once you're inside. The shower was roomy with instant hot water. The breakfast options are at the bottom of the barrel here, nothing like the somewhat of a cornucopia available at the Element. It's really due for some repairs and updated. The hallways look like it's been like that since the 80s, the carpet looked old, and the hallways has a weird smell. There are some needed repairs. For example, the A/C unit cover is broken. Also the cleaning is not the best. There are left of hair in the bathroom when I arrived. It's a mediocre experiences. It won't turn me away from Hyatts and I have stayed at other Hyatts that's great. Just this one is not the best, but not bad as well. Breakfast is usual. Eggs, pancakes, pastries, coffee, etc. The staff are also very nice.

Heat does not work at all - I tried turning the wall thermostat up and down, nothing 2. Also the thermostat BRIGHT blue light stayed on all night. I called to ask how to change and no one could help. It kept me up most of the night. 3. When you flush, the toilet makes a lot of noise well after using it, similarly kept me up a lot Frankly this was one of those situations where I was uncomfortable the entire stay but sadly had no good options as the only thing the front desk offered was to call maintenance which I was not going to do at 11:30 pm.
