I had to ask what they were going to do about it. He was able to reduce the room cost. It is still disappointing as it was only suggested for a different room after I had called twice and we had slept there. And no one came to replace the used glasses and water. This is not an inexpensive hotel- service was very poor.

It's a small room with no frills which seems incongruent with the price. A friend tried to send us a bottle of champagne and had to speak with four hotel employees to make that happen. And, most concerningly, twice we were out of the room and although we had the do not disturb sign on the knob an employee entered the room unauthorized, once to get ALL the towels in the room (we had to call to get them replaced when we noticed upon return hours later) and once to get the pair of sherry glasses left on the bedside table. All, again, without our permission. We absolutely won't stay here again and I would recommend looking at other luxury hotels in the area instead.

It's about 22 steps up to the main level. First floor has a convivence store. We were in Room 6 which was great. The was a separate bedroom which is what we wanted. The room had - roll away bed - iron - blow dryer - cereal - milk - bottled water and OJ - coffee - Full kitchen with eat in area The bathroom was large and comfortable. The bed was great and I slept like a baby. The staff is very friendly and helpful Answered all my questions. There were extra snacks and water bottles available if needed. If I ever come back to Memphis I would DEFINITELY come back here. This place is across the street from the Peabody hotel so we went across to see the march of the ducks. lol

Large and spacious apartment-style accommodations: large marble floor throughout, family room, kitchen, large bathroom and large bedroom. The kitchen is stocked with coffee, a cereal and cereal bar selection for the next morning, chilled waters and milk in the refrigerator (every day). The entire right side of our pad was lined with windows and plantation shutters, plants lined the window sills (I don't even have this at home), you could hear the bustle of people outside, the buzz of the downtown. A quick 2-3 block walk to Beale Street, Talbot Heirs is perfectly located. Tom & Sandy Franck are the owners/managers of the property and boy do they make you feel welcome, like a part of the family, a local in Memphis, someone special ... From my initial call to reserve our Suite to the greeting we received upon arrival - first class all the way. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Memphis. We arrived into Memphis late, 11:15p our flight arrive, which I felt bad for Tom who we needed to wake to let us into our Suite. "Not a problem" says Tom as he eagerly greets us downstairs when we arrive in our taxi, ready to bring our luggage up the stairs. If you don't pay close attention, you just may drive past Talbot Heirs, the sign is subtle, more like an apartment building. Just the way it's planned. Tom got us settled in, gave us a map of the downtown area, outlined the free shuttle that can take us to Graceland (our #1 Agenda item of the next day) and some great places to take in all Memphis ... "Do you ladies drink beer?" Me: "Absolutely!" Before you know it, Tom is bringing us a 6-pack to add to our stocked refrigerator. Since Talbot Heirs has full kitchens in each Suite, guests stock their fridges for their stay and sometimes don't finish their adult bevvies and thus leave them for Tom & Sandy. And this was our added benefit - a 6-pack to start our trip! :) We were only in Memphis for 2 nights and were so sad to say Bye to Tom and Sandy. As Tom helped us pack-up the taxi on our way out of town, a big hug and "come see us again" ... Yes, you will!!!

Also consider when they were written; for example, if there are a few really negative critiques from five years ago but recent ones are favorable, then it's safe to assume that whatever issues customers had in the past have been resolved.) Homegate Inn & Suites was reasonably priced, the current write-ups looked promising, & it was almost 11:30 PM so I made my move in order to guarantee a solid eight hours of much-needed sleep. The front desk attendant was friendly & professional, & the hotel was nice & quiet. My room was HUGE, complete with a sitting area with a desk plus a mini fridge, microwave & coffee pot. While I didn't use any of those amenities, I probably would have if I arrived earlier or stayed longer. Everything was spotless, there were plenty of fresh towels & the pillows were nice & fluffy. Within minutes, I was out like a light & I woke up refreshed & ready to tackle the final leg of my road trip.

I have to start with the highlight of my stay; the WXYZ bar in the lobby and Carlos, the bartender extraordinaire!! I wish every business had an employee as passionate and dedicated as Carlos. He makes you feel like family (the good kind), the conversation is effortless, and he makes you feel welcomed. He not only sincerely cares about making a good impression, he wants all of your experiences during your stay to be memorable. The hotel is clean, spacious, and well equipped (dry bar products in the bathroom). The bed is very comfortable, the room was functional, and the location is perfect. The beds were nothing to talk highly of, they were about 6" thick and as soon as you lay down, it feels as if you've bottomed out. We stayed two nights and had seen several places to call the front desk if we needed room service before, as they only clean every third day. Imagine our surprise when we left to go explore Memphis and came back and we were not able to get into our room with either of our keys. Once getting reprogrammed, we entered the room to find it had, in fact, been cleaned after one night, with all of our stuff out in the open.
