We were in town for an event and we couldn't find a hotel that was in a nice area, medium price, and great ratings until we came upon this Hampton Inn. Everything you need and want and at an affordable price. Aimee at the front went beyond the call of duty, she was so friendly and considerate, if you needed anything, she would make sure you got what you needed. I accidentally left some items there, and she immediately called and informed me, then ask about getting it sent to me, I don't know about you, but not too many hotels would do that for their customers! I strongly recommend giving Hampton Inn Memphis/Collierville a visit, you will not be disappointed. read more

I stayed here a couple weekends ago for a funeral. The hotel was in a good location in relation to where we wanted to go in the area. My mom and I went, and we got in at 1:30am, and the night manager was able to help us out. They get a lower number of stars because at the begining of our stay, I pulled at the sofa bed and the sheets already on the sofa bed were pretty dirty. I went downstairs to the front desk and spoke to the night manager and got some extra sheets for the sofa bed. She was apologetic, but it wasn't the best start. On a trip, especially to attend a funeral, we didn't spend too much time in the room. The breakfast setup was decent and pretty efficient. Like I said, good location, and it was a last minute trip. read more

Stopped off for some rest after a beautiful wedding weekend of some friends. Hampton's are a regular place to stay. This visit was quite different. As we entered the hotel the attendant was upstairs causing a long line to form. We then got up to the desk, got our room key, and we were off to room 324. We opened the door barely walked in and immediately walked out, down the elevator, and back to clerk to wait in line again. The room smelled like raunchy old smoke. The attendant gave us a new room, so up we went to 327. Room was better but we were very apprehensive. We were finally settling in when we heard a door. We thought it was our neighbors. Well it wasn't. The attendant gave our room to another person and they were trying to get in the door aggressively. Thankfully the little flip lock worked or we and the other guests would have gotten a surprise. I got dressed, looked outside in the hall, and called down to the desk. She double booked the room. Just to add, the toilet had issues every time I flushed it and the bed was super hard and has to sleep sitting-up on the couch. Needless to say I will not be visiting this Hampton ever again. read more

We were advised of the crime and car theft in Memphis by locals, since we were in town for work. Thankful this location was close to FedEx. Reviews stated they found this location was ok just be aware of the train noise at night. Due to the rising crime across Shelby County we stayed here, seems the town is now growing in houses. I haven't been in Collierville in 40+ years & miss seeing the farms, especially the one that use to at Bray Station and Poplar, which is now Shilling Farms. Yes you hear the train whistle at night, but that is part of Collierville's charm. Hotel was clean, the staff was nice and professional. Would recommend for those in town for work. I would have given it 5 stars but one con is the parking lot is limited with spaces, there were trucks using 2 parking spaces which was rude in the back and the place was full. read more

Contrary to other reviews on here, we didn't think it was terrible. There were no roaches. The beds were fairly comfortable. The only problems we had were that the AC never got cold, even set at 63 degrees, and it was insanely loud (hotel is located next to train tracks). There was also an 1.5" gap under the entry door that we had to put pillows in front of because it was really bright in the room and we could hear every single word of people talking in the hallway, as well as the walls were thin. The customer service wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming, but she wasn't rude either. We're both light sleepers, so we got up tired and kind of cranky and had to backtrack 20min to Memphis for coffee - there's nothing close and nothing towards Jackson. ‍ read more

This hotel, being a Hilton property, I expected to have nice amenities. No complaints with the room itself. It is spacious, clean, comfortable bed, with ample and convenient power outlets for charging all of my devices (4). It is close to the railroad and a freight train seems to come rumbling through about three times a night. It is noisy and you can feel it reverberate through the room. But it doesn't bother me like I thought it would! They provide ear plugs but I haven't needed them. They also have train photographs on the walls which I find to be a humerous acknowledgement that there's an active railroad close by. The downside with this hotel is the breakfast. It is lower quality than I've come to expect at Hilton properties and worse still they've been out of something important each day of my stay. A convenient and good breakfast is important when travelling on business and is one of the key factors I consider when choosing a hotel for business travel. read more

Agree with other reviewers about the noise factor. We have spent a lot of time in Memphis area, so know about the trains, which didn't really bother us. The noise from other rooms and the hallway, however, did. Just very poor sound-proofing. Staff exceedingly nice, room and common areas very clean, location great if you have reason to be in Collierville. We do travel with our own cd player and relaxing music; will just have to up the volume a bit on our next visit there. read more

Cockroach on pillows in first room. They offered us $4 complimentary snack for the inconvenience. We got moved. Second room had an alarm set for 6am wake up call when we trying to sleep in, what the?? Hotel was dirty. Crumbs everywhere in lobby and walking thru hallways. Looks like they never tried to clean the elevator. If they can't clean just the norm, are they really being cautious with covid? Unlikely. Would not recommend. Absolutely the worst. No water due main break and then black water. All that was provided was one 16.9 oz bottle of water. Earplugs are provided free of charge. Why you ask? Because of the train the comes along next to the hotel at all hours blowing the whistle. No free internet unless your a HH member. So be prepared to $3.95 for crappy internet if you want it. Location. SUCKS. Not in walking distance to ANYTHING. So if you're in town for training/business for the place across the street you'll need a rental car or Uber to go anywhere just to eat. The mall four minutes away has a lot of dining choices and a Marriott - stay there. This is the #1 crappiest hotel I've had to stay. remember the ear plugs are free but you'll still have to pay for the internet. read more

Generally Hampton Inns are pretty nice but this one is the worst of the Hamptons. Room is configured in typical Hampton style. Nice bed, flat screen TV, fridge and microwave. Bad part of the room is the arcane heater/air conditioning unit that they have in each room. Turn on the air conditioner and you get this damp smelly air, turn it off and you roast from the Memphis heat. Room was just uncomfortable for working Breakfast bar is so bad it's not even worth stopping at. Even the stuff you might consider eating is gone half the time and they sure take their time refilling it. For example, this morning they were out of orange juice, milk and sausage. They did have some fluorescent yellow scrambled eggs and canned fruit cocktail, but I pass on that swill. Price for the room was 97 dollars a night. There are better places to spend several nights. read more

Of the places we stayed on our road trip, this was the best. The rooms were clean, had a great decor, and a spacious bathroom. The beds are nice and comfortable, and they give you plenty of pillows. Breakfast in the morning was ok. It's nice that you can make your own waffles, but they lady working the breakfast area hates her life. I tried to joke around with her, and she was not having it. She acted like I was not there, and utterly refused to make eye contact. I didn't let that ruin my experience. I would definitely return here if I'm every in the area. read more

This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at anywhere. My room was spotless. The front desk and management staff were kind and compassionate. It felt like coming home to a relatives house every day. The breakfast was good. The room was quiet and comfortable. You do kind of hear the train occasionally but the white noise machines in the room make it that you can sleep all night. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Memphis area even if it means driving further to stay here. read more

Hampton Inns are pretty much the same everywhere. This one is an exception. And what's that difference, you ask? NOISE! Sounds flow effortlessly through the walls, main door, and window. The bathtub faucet drips... all night long. One may think the sounds of water are lovely... drips aren't! My neighbors' happy laughter at 11pm sounded like it was coming from MY tv. And it was a long show. A call to the front desk took care of it. Then a train passed by, turning the window into its amplifier. Around 4am the fire alarm started beeping. Picture a cafe full of microwaves beeping one after another... that was the sound. My call to the front desk was greeted with a comment about working on the fire alarm issue, then a quick hang up from the service professional. 20 minutes later, the noise finally stopped. But it was followed by men's voices and loud walkie talkie transmissions in the hallway. Today, and likely every day, this Hampton Inn sends a lot of exhausted guests back out into the world. read more

So this HI could use a face lift and some attention to detail. There was visible dirt on the furniture in our room, the carpet in the elevator was gross and the beds and pillows are done. Housekeeping did not pick up all of the dirty towels or provide clean wash cloths. The TV cut out and the remote only worked occasionally. The people were not rude but I would not define them as friendly. The breakfast was what you would expect. Overall I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the location worked and the bathroom was clean. If you can stay somewhere else do that but you will survive 1-2 nights here if needed. read more

We were there October 12 and 13, 2018. Everyone was terrific. We were there fur a celebration of life for my aunt. Victoria Bagley helped me get a room to host and the whole staff were willing to nelp in any way. The custodian, I believe his name was Alfonsco, went out of his way to help. There were 2 or 3 gentlemen there changing the filters on the air conditioner/heating units. They helped when I had trouble with my car and also went to an aunt room to check her unit when she said it wasn't warm enough. I will stay there again. read more

While the hotel was under construction, that did not attribute to any of my issues. The rooms were clean enough, but you could tell the same care was not taken as other Hilton chain hotels. The bed was haphazardly made, nasty stains were left on the sleeper sofa cushions, the hair dryer in the room sounded like a weed eater and was not well maintained, many little details were overlooked. Watch the do not disturb sign on the door. The way the electronic entry and handles are set up, the sign will swing when the door shuts and get caught between the door facing and the lock. Very unsafe. While this hotel offers free WiFi, it was slow and dropped connection often. I ended up using disconnecting and using my cellular data instead. I would prefer that the fitness room was open 24 hours, as 6:00 am is not early enough. I typically workout around 5:00 am to allow enough time to get ready. This wasn't as big of an issue at this location, since the "fitness room" (and I use that designation lightly) consisted of a treadmill, a bike, and 5 medicine balls that only went up to 12 lbs. I would have been better off lifting the treadmill to get a good workout in. The area is TINY. I would have expected free weights as a minimum. The space in the room is not well-utilized. I only stayed at this location to accrue more points, but I will do my best to stay at a different Hilton location in my future Memphis visits. read more

Stayed here 1 night on a road trip - this hotel is a little out of the way, so it's cheaper. I was pissed initially because the desk clerk wouldn't even acknowledge me for like 5 minutes while he was on the phone with a reservation, but then he turned out to be a pretty nice guy, so I forgave him. They are pet-friendly, which is awesome. The room was comfortable & plenty big enough, what I've come to expect from Hampton, but the WIFI was painfully slow (~500kbps), and the breakfast was not good. The fruit looked tired, and the bacon was paper-thin, so I stuck with cereal. Average overall, but below average for a Hampton in my opinion. read more

An older hotel. I didn't mind it, but the facility is showing its age. Internet access is very slow (under 2 Mb download throughput) and dropped constantly on my mobile devices. My laptop was able to stay on consistently, but had slow speed. I called down for a wake up call around 11:30p and no one answered at the front desk. Check in was friendly. There was hair on my duvet and the bathroom floor was wet from a bad shower curtain setup (i put a towel down to catch the water from the shower. There are a lot of restaurants and stores nearby including Starbucks. I would consider this hotel in the future if I can't find a newer one. read more

It is right by a train track so they wake you up at night. Breakfast is not the best and the rooms are pretty small. When you shower here is only one curtain form keeping water in. You also have to be in your room by 10 pm. There is not a lot to do their since they can be strict. They also asked for conjoining rooms and we didn't get them at first. We ahead to ask them for it. 2/10 overall. It also looks like a murder house. Your rooms also smell like lotion read more

This is my "landing place" when I travel to Memphis. I have been staying here for several years and have yet to have a less than enjoyable experience. Today, I was greeted at the front desk by Columbus. What a pleasant fellow! He really made me feel welcome...and it was not a "fake" welcome! He really was glad to see me. We had a nice conversation. If we could only have more "Columbus" in our day to day. So, I'll be back, as always. read more
