Disappointed. 2025 I was Titanium with Marriott and Globalist with Hyatt. Perks with Hyatt overall are better. This year 24 stays with Marriott. After this trip, no more Marriott. Lifetime Gold now, only a couple years to go for Marriott lifetime Plat, not worth it. Being Titanium thought maybe I'd receive a food credit, gift bag, cookies, piece of chocolate, something, a note, literally NOTHING. No recognition. Not even verbal recognition of status. Got it. Made the decision tonight, stop pursuing Marriott Lifetime Plat, go for Hyatt Lifetime Globalist. Done. No more.

Upon sitting down they asked what we wanted. We asked for menus as spouse likes to pick from what is on tap and I was looking for a mocktail. Barkeep brought us menus. Right as I was about to pick food along with the drinks they told us the kitchen would be closed the whole night. Buried the lead a bit there. It was dinner time and we had spent past few hours driving. They rattled off a list of restaurants and I looked up menus and review on yelp. I feel like a sign or earlier heads up would have been appreciated after waiting 5 mins or so for service at an otherwise empty bar. Our room was 2 away from the elevator. I was hopeful with the plush carpet that most of the sound would be absorbed. It was fairly well quiets with some random bursts of activity. Bed is a bit springy. Requested more pillows before arrival they responded in the app and the pillows were there. Pillows were assorted levels of thickness which my spouse and I needed. I was able to make it work. Body wash is Korres and a nice scent. Main item of note: Pool on the website and app looks as though it is open year round. After an experience a few weeks ago I now call and check. This pool is open seasonably from May - October. I would like if their website and app page could relay that as other hotels are able to. I like the central and walkable location. We would absolutely return. The Spartanburg website by the tourism council has a ton of activities, events etc listed. The look and aesthetic of the rooms, hotel communal spaces and exterior are all pretty, clean and nicely kept. I did like that the hotel as a whole was exactly depicted and expected. Happy with accommodations and exceptional walkability! 4 stars over the bed comfort and the pool communication. Otherwise 5.

There is plenty of parking in the lot and the hotel is close to many restaurants and services of all types. The room was large and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked well (as it was hot outside), the bathroom was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. In addition, I was able to log on to the internet for free as a guest, which i really appreciated. There are guest laundry facilities on every other floor, which is nice if they are needed. The included breakfast buffet was well stocked with all that is expected in a full breakfast, including hot items such as eggs and breakfast meats. And the hotel has a large number of tables for the breakfast patrons, so finding a table was not an issue. All the personnel that i interacted with were great. I especially appreciated the front desk attendant who gave me a complementary bottle of water when I told him that the maid had inadvertently discarded my empty bottle when I left out. All in all, this is a very nice hotel and i highly recommend it.

The room was clean enough. There was a spot on the desk in the room that had a dirty spot on it. We wanted to use the sofa bed but there were no sheets, pillows or other items to use the bed. It was late and we were tired so we did not want to have to go back downstairs to get these items. In the bathroom there was no lotion and the shower was out of body wash. I normally don pack those items for a one night stay. Because they used to have it available regularly. In the fitness center there was no water available and they had Lysol wipes instead of the normal wipes. I don't like using Lysol wipes when I am working out because they have too much saturation of chemicals and it gets all over me and my equipment. The last gripe is about the continental breakfast. The only yogurts were dannon yogurts. The oatmeal was Quaker Oats packets and the water was not hot enough to cook this. The milk for cereal was room temp. The eggs smelled so bad my daughter threw up. They were chopped up to tiny pieces. The chicken sausage was cold to the touch right out of the chafing pan. The breakfasts have really become an afterthought. They were out of coffee in the lobby. Overall not happy. I haven't given up on Hilton but the Hampton Inns are getting bad. I will give the other Hiltons may keep me coming back. I am really let down. They used to pay more attention to the details and seemed to care about the tenets.

I will preface this entire situation began because I was careless and in a rush to hit the road…read more I am IHG Platinum, I am pretty much brand loyal. That will not change with the exception of this property, I will not return. I have stayed at this property almost loyally for almost ten years whenever travels have brought me to Spartanburg, and I have never had a problem until this visit. I stayed at this property 8.30.2026 - 9.20.2026. Given my concerns over honesty I feel justified in that decision and want to caution other travelers of my experience that may stay here to exercise caution. When you leave make a sweep of the property make sure you grab all of your property, do not forget anything behind. About three hours after I checked out, I realized I had left clothes in the closet and promptly called the hotel to try to coordinate getting them back. I advised the gentleman specifically what was missing. About ten minutes later he called and advised they found only my work shirt and a sweater. All of my clothes were left hanging in the closet together. Why would I grab only two items and leave the others? The problem for me is the missing items have retail value of $150; Athleta brand linen jogger pants and an H & M beige color vest top. Now, clearly, I knew property was left behind and they knew because two of four items were returned. Where the other two items went I will never know. A co-worker retrieved the two items and sent them to me and I tried to follow-up with the hotel regarding the two pieces that were not returned. At this point I accept my property is lost for good. I called yesterday Sept. 10 and spoke with the woman who was at the front desk. She promised to look into the matter and get back to me on Sept. 11, no callback. I called at 9AM on Sept 11 and requested to speak with the manager, the same woman answered and she advised she did not know when the manager would be available but she would give him the message to return my call. Six hours later no callback. I decided ok, this is important to me but clearly not to the hotel so I contact IHG directly. Within 15 minutes of hanging up the phone rings and the manager calls. I will say he did absolutely nothing to help the situation it was all deflect and cover his staff. Not a modicum of empathy. He tried to speak over me and said, "That's your theory." I should have expected as much given how this entire situation was handled by this particular property. Again, this is simply my experience and caution to you. My room was clean, I did sleep fine the three nights I stayed, the breakfast was meh, but it was free, and it was pretty much what you would expect of hotel breakfast. The staff for the most part was cordial. Not returning all of my property is a deal breaker for me. Next trip to Spartanburg I will stay at the Hampton Inn across the street.
