Steve was prompt, professional and was understanding of the wedding timeline. I kept hearing amazing things about the music that was being played while people were being seated. He called my parents to get a better understanding of the songs we had picked weeks before. All of the songs we had picked were played. Since this was in my parents backyard, this was a bit of a different setup and layout. Steve was awesome and super helpful. He would answer any questions,before, during and after the wedding. When I did reach him, he reassured me that he would be able to perform our wedding. We have spoken again at 2 points since then updating on our plans. At this point, he was going to DJ for just us in a room with our attendees on Zoom. He said would refund part of our fee due to this which I thought was nice. Instead, 3 weeks ago I receive an e-mail from a family member letting me know that he was ill and was cancelling our wedding. For 3 weeks I have tried to contact him via e-mail, weddingwire, phone and replied to his family member regarding him refunding us since he no longer was going to be providing any DJ services for our wedding. He (or his family member) has yet to reply. I feel very bad that he is ill, but this is unprofessional and very frustrating.

He offered to meet with us just to talk about the different packages and pricing options and show us some of his work. We invited him to meet us at our home and he obliged. Even from the first meeting, I was impressed with the variety of options and that he let us think on it for a few days- it was completely no pressure. Of course, we didn't take long to make our decision! James is also an excellent communicator! Whenever I emailed him a question, he almost always responded within a few minutes. It poured rain on our wedding day, but I knew I didn't have to worry about good photos. He seemed to be having fun the whole time, which made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We're really impressed with his work, and my wife and I would highly recommend him! After viewing some of his portfolios on his site and instagram, we reached out to him about 6 months before the wedding. Since we aren't local to Richmond, he started the process with a few "ice breaker" questions and an introductory phone call to talk through our vision for the wedding, his process, and review the packages he offers. We needed a couple more hours of coverage than was offered in the packages, and he was flexible in making that work. All payments were painlessly done through an online portal. The day of the wedding, PJ was there on time to take pictures of the bridal party as they got ready. My wife commented that having him there felt perfectly natural. Arriving at the wedding was a bit... hectic (for other reasons), but PJ and his assistant went above and beyond to be helpful in the process, distributing the boutonnières and even helping some of groomsmen pin them on! After the ceremony, PJ was organized for the formals (he had the list we had sent him set as his phone background) and flexible as we snuck a couple extra group shots in. It was a relief to work with someone who added zero stress to the event! We had a bunch of fun and, at PJ's direction, got some artistic shots in with the bridal party in Monroe Park. He did a great job capturing the reception as well, making sure to grab our rings for a couple "artistic" shots and even pulling my wife and I aside for a few less formal photos. He had all of these creative ideas with little direction from us. Following the wedding PJ provided us our photos on his online portal. Starting with a smaller set of sneak peeks about three weeks after the wedding, then a highlight video and full set two or three weeks after that. The site had the ability to download the photos in high or mobile quality, hide photos from other viewers, and made it super easy to share with our family and friends.
