I had Nancy (Mike's daughter) as my primary photographer for my wedding and bridal portraits and she did such a phenomenal job. She has such a calm demeanor and cheerful personality that made everyone feel immediately relaxed and excited to work with her throughout the day! Nancy was an absolute professional and you could tell from her communication and flow that she knew the absolute best way to go about getting the best pictures that my husband, our families, and I would cherish forever. She had me fill out some information before the wedding about information regarding names of family members and particular photos I would want on my wedding day and by the time she arrived to our venue to shoot, she had memorized all everyone's names so that it would be easiest to direct and delegate people to where they needed to go! My bridal and grooms party were also extremely impressed how efficiently, quickly, and painlessly she was able to gather everyone for pictures for each shot and be completed in a shockingly quick time. Nancy understood that wedding pictures were important, but also valued our time to be spent at our actual wedding, which I couldn't be more grateful for. Our photos turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined and she captured so many beautifully candid moments during the night. I already have family members and friends who have asked me about her services to use for their weddings! We knew this wouldn't just be some random photographer who decided to take photos of weddings, but instead a truly skilled professional. When we first met with him, we enjoyed his very calm and easy-going yet very professional attitude, and loved his photojournalistic style of capturing candid moments and telling a story through his photo albums. This was just what we were looking for. We also loved that Mike's assistant photographer would be his daughter, and he set us up with his OTHER daughter as our videographer! We were happy to work with a family business. They were all SUCH a pleasure to not just work with, but to BE with! Everyone that they interacted with got such a kick out of them and had such nice things to say about them. Mike's daughter was great at 'cheering us on' during the photos, so everyone stayed alert, looking in the right direction, and on task. This was so helpful during the group photos, because we wanted to get them done as quick as possible since there were so many of us to keep focused. That way we could get back to the wedding action! To me- the courthouse wasn't "fancy", so I was worried that since the building and the surrounding area wasn't architecturally appealing we wouldn't be able to get good shots. However, Vivian took care of that! She got there early and scoped out the location looking for favorable shot locations in and outside the building. Another detail I was pleased with was when she made sure to learn the names of our family members who where there taking photos with us. It made it easier when she was giving direction and she made everyone feel comfortable. My husband and I were most pleased with the final product. As you can imagine, there were thousands of photos taken, but Jessica was able to turn around proofs and DVDs of 4000+ photos extremely quickly. The challenging part now is trying to pic from them, as most are amazing, capturing our spirit and loving moments, and building out an album. When I did reach him, he reassured me that he would be able to perform our wedding. We have spoken again at 2 points since then updating on our plans. At this point, he was going to DJ for just us in a room with our attendees on Zoom. He said would refund part of our fee due to this which I thought was nice. Instead, 3 weeks ago I receive an e-mail from a family member letting me know that he was ill and was cancelling our wedding. For 3 weeks I have tried to contact him via e-mail, weddingwire, phone and replied to his family member regarding him refunding us since he no longer was going to be providing any DJ services for our wedding. He (or his family member) has yet to reply. I feel very bad that he is ill, but this is unprofessional and very frustrating.
