Worst medical care system ever!…read more Our wonderful doctor of 22 years retired last year and we are trying to find a new primary care doctor. Well, good luck with that! We have tried calling four doctors so far. Right now, our primary need is to refill current prescriptions that we got from our old doctor less than 8 months ago. But, what a run around we are getting, since each doctor in the FMC system we called is telling us we are considered NEW patients and the next opening for a new patient appointment is in four months. So, after 22 years we are new patients? So, all those previous 22 years of office visits, physicals, tests, surgeries, etc. suddenly don't count? So every time I want to see a different doctor I am going to be considered a new patient? And therefore have to wait four months for an appointment, for a visit during which I see the doctor for only 15 minutes. Well then, what is the reason for being in the FMC system? All we need right now is to refill our prescriptions, something that we cannot wait four months to do. These scripts were written by a FMC doctor, why all the hassle when we just need refills. Oh wait... I was able to get an appointment for the following week to see a doctor when they wanted me to have two expensive test procedures. Oh wait... we were also told of a new FMC policy. Patients are now required to see a FMC doctor TWICE a year, whether they need to or not or else they go back to being NEW patients again. Florida Medical Clinic system seems more concerned with the bottom line of money making than in any real concern for their patients' health.

After I allowed her to dig herself deeper in the hole she had dug herself into, I spoke up and said "IF you actually HAD bothered to look at my patient file you would have seen that you've been calling me by someone else's name AND that I had that body part that you tell me I need tested removed in 2008." Now if something like this and also wanting unnecessary and excessive blood tests every time you go to the office done doesn't make you feel like a total POS, I don't know what does. I went in to get an ear infection checked and was told by the nurses aid that the doctor wouldn't check my ear unless I had this long list of blood tests (including AIDS and Hepatitis!!!!) in their lab first!!!! I came to Moffitt as soon as I found out I had head and neck cancer. Then I explained that I was two and a half hours north of them and I had found a small clinic just 5 minutes from my house, as the treatment I needed would have required two treatments a day for six weeks. Suddenly, the tone changed, as did their body language. They told me if I went to the local clinic I was risking my life and would more then likely have a far less chance of recovering. Like they had a magic treatment of some sort. They tried their best to scare the hell out of me in plain English. While in fact I had noted the radiation machine they had and compared it to my local clinics. They had the very same machine and plan as my local clinic right in Lecanto Fl. I completed my 6 weeks of treatment and while it was rough, it did in fact help me. it's been 7 years. I would not recommend Moffitt at all for any type of cancer treatment. They didn't care about me or my situation. All they cared about was their numbers and studies. I love my Doctor. Dr Joey Bennitt. they did a great job and saved my life. If you get diagnosed with cancer, take a minute to really think about what will be the easiest for you and your family. these small clinics are a lot more personal and you see the same people every day during your treatment, while at Moffitt you never see the same people twice and they seem to be taking advantage of your diagnoses and will use it to their advantage to have you open your check book and say do what ever it takes. Truthfully, all the treatment facilities are the same and will do the exact same thing to help you. Don't fall for their scam. 7 years doing fine!

Extremely Dishonest Business Practices and Financial Misleading…read more I am writing this review to warn others about the incredibly unprofessional and deceptive financial practices at United Vein & Vascular. What I experienced is nothing short of a "bait-and-switch" that has left me with an unexpected, massive bill and zero accountability from their office. After waiting three weeks for this office to coordinate with my insurance company, I was finally notified that my procedure was approved. When I arrived, the only cost disclosed to me was $16 per pair of compression socks. I proceeded with the treatment under the explicit impression that the insurance coverage was settled and everything was in order. At my follow-up appointment, I specifically asked the front desk if there were any outstanding issues or balances. I was told, "Yes, everything is good." Imagine my shock when, the following week, I received a bill for $1,000 out-of-pocket. This is absolutely unacceptable. The issue here is not that I am unaware of how insurance or copays work; the issue is that this office failed to perform the most basic duty of a medical provider: transparency. They had three weeks during the approval process, the day of the procedure, and the follow-up appointment to provide a clear estimate of my patient responsibility. They never disclosed these costs, nor did they provide me with the option to decide if I could afford this procedure or if I needed to wait until I had the funds. By failing to provide a pre-operation cost estimate despite having multiple opportunities to do so, they robbed me of the ability to make an informed financial decision. This is not just poor communication; it is predatory. I feel completely misled and taken advantage of. I paid both statement bills in full when I received them. They will not give me a refund for the over payment. Now, after more than 6 months after the date of my procedure, they sent me a bill for a day they said they had neglected to charge me. They have ignored the fact that I had already double paid $ because of being charged for the same procedure on the same date on two separate statements. Keep proof of every appointment, procedure and $ transactions.
