We have used Sunshine Pools since moving to the area in 2020. Tony is owner and a very nice and honest man. He has always had our backs with our pool issues and very honest about best solutions. We recently had our pool patio redone and everything was done with very pleasing results. The concrete crew led by Lorenzo was also very nice and accommodating. He worked alongside his 5 man crew and everything was done in 2 days. The crew worked hard and quiet and was very neat along the way. And a big plus for the dependability of Tony and also Lorenzo.. they showed up when they said they would. Actually sometimes few mins early. Couldn't be happier with the work and good job they did. If I could give zero stars, I would. Sunshine pools is the most unprofessional, Mickey Mouse, backwoods hillbilly operation I have ever had the unfortune to encounter. I've been dealing with these folks for months trying to get the equipment fixed on my pool that was damaged in the May 29 storm in Talty/Forney area. Their "30 year veteran" technician has come out to my house on multiple occasions leaving my equipment in various states on UNUSE for weeks at a time. Zero communication with the management staff as to why. I had to be the one to communicate with that. This past month, my pool pump was left in pieces while I was on vacation because "they didn't assemble it" and my pool went not running for the entire week. Now, I am fighting Alge as a result. There is another component of my pool (6 way floor port jets) that has been broken since May 29, and they keep saying they "fixed it". It still leaks like a cive. They kept saying it was an o-ring seal. THE HOUSING IS CRACKED AND THAT IS WHY IT IS LEAKING. They charged me hundreds of dollars for repairs that has resulted in my pool becoming more damaged than what it was. The final straw is when they sent me yet another invoice for $211 after admitting to me (in writing that I am KEEPING for possible small claims court) that their technician screwed up and they are taking responsibility for his malfeasance. Then when I wrote to them that I was not paying for it and if they insisted on perusing that invoice, I would take them to small claims. They sent me a final email saying that there was no need for me to get "ugly" and to never contact them again. (I HAVE ALL THIS IN WRITING). They want to see ugly? Fine, here comes all the bad google, yelp, FB reviews and everywhere else I can post it. I plan on calling small claims court and asking them to pay for damage done to my pool since they accepted responsibility of their technician's actions. Ugly....you got it Sunshine Pools. read more

First went to Sunshine about five years ago, just after moving to Forney. Our new home included a Large freeform pool with attached sauna and waterfall. We have had pools for over thirty years, but they were all in Penna. Big difference with Texas weather and and problems. Tony, the owner, has come to our property numerous times, for free, to advise us how to handle problems with everything from filters, plaster, water issues, coping sealing, and black algae. He has never let us down with quick analysis and recommendations. His people have handled numerous other issues including our conversion to a salt water system, filter, and heater issues. Highly recommend. Prices are always fair and advice has always been free ! read more

This company was assigned to me by American Home Shield (AHS), which, btw, is another piece of crap! Again, we (me and my wife) did not sign any service contract with this "Sunshine" pools! AHS, for whatever reason did not pay the service invoice due to Sunshine Pools, then Sunshine pools decided to start threatening me with placing a lien in my house, which legally, they cannot do. My wife suffers from PTSD which got worse with this news! Making a long story short and spending time and $$$ with a lawyer they got their check from AHS. Sunshine pools installed my pool nine years ago, and their customer service is beyond excellent. They are always able to answer questions for me anytime I need help. They are the absolute best. They can diagnose pool problems over the phone and tell me what I need to do to fix it myself and they have the best prices on accessories and anything you might need for your pool. read more

Don't use this company. They tried charging me for services that weren't rendered and were extremely rude to me for even asking to have it removed from my bill. Then they treated me like I was not going to or hadn't paid my bills. Their techs barely did anything to clean my pool in four months of service other than dropping some chemicals and skimming it. We have had several pool companies over the years and none of them were dependable. We've never had a problem with call backs or service. I think they are a little pricier than I want to pay, but I'm ok with that, because they are dependable and get the job done. I'm happy with your service Sunshine! read more

The worst customer service I have ever received. I hired them to clean my pool. They came out twice. My pool was turned green from the first time they came out for a solid month. I then went to the store, with a sample of my pool water. I told them what was going on (that my pool was still green after 2 service calls) and that I would like to cancel the service. I wrote them a check for the calls they had already done even though they failed to clean my pool. The owner came out and told me that she did not want to lose my business so she would send out another person for free the following Tuesday. The day I was there I purchased $100 worth of Chemicals to fix my pool. $50 of which (come to find out) I did not need. They are now billing me for the free Trip. On the Tuesday that they where supposed to come out the pool person arrived just as it started to pour rain and thunderstorm. He did not service my pool yet they claim he did. I called Ashlee in the office and she just tells me that she will talk to someone and but she would not call back. I finally called again and she told me (after I got angry and pushed the issue) that should would take the trip charge off my bill. read more

Sunshine Pools was assigned to me by my warranty company. I feel bad for leaving this review because the technician that came out did a excellent job. The office personnel on the other hand made me feel like a common criminal. I got a kick out of reading other reviews with the same complaint about office personnel. It looks like owner Tony maybe needs to wake up take care of the cancer in his company. I can understand an isolated incident but a 1 1/2 star rating usually doesn't lie. read more

When I decided to fire them in the middle of services I had to ask them to give me my invoice total over 4 times and it was inaccurate, I paid it and could never recommend. They do not call back or communicate with customers, treat customers very bad, do not call back ever, do not keep you informed or explain on what they are doing. When I first spoke to Taylor she was nice, after that Ashley I found very rude and unprofessional. She would never me back call back and nor would the owner. They sent a very inexperienced and very young technician named Tyler to deal with my pool issue who would not inform me on what his office kept telling him during his visit, I had to manage the time he was here at my home as well as watch what he was doing as I did not trust his knowledge. I would never use this company as they I believe that they may end up one day soon destroying a customer's pool. Very Very unprofessional and I ended up having to fire them. read more

BEWARE! We were scammed for a $311 pool cleaning. When I called to book I was told $125 an hour. I asked for tiles to be washed as there was dirt on them, pool to be vacuumed , chemicals, and filter clean. Their tech showed just before dark so he was very rushed and spent an hour maybe an hour and 15 mins at BEST. The tech told us to get magic erasers for the tile, which is ok, he left the chemicals for us to do, ok, then left the cartridges out of filters so my husband had to take apart again and put them in. We don't get worked up over much so we let it slide. No biggie. Everyone is busy BUT when we got the bill!!! wow! We got a $311 bill. When I asked for the bill to be adjusted for services rendered I was told the bill was wrong and that is was actually $330 plus extra chemicals plus tax. WOWZA! Seemed like me asking for the bill to be adjusted struck a nerve and that resulted in a HIGHER BILL! What?! Not to mention that email was nothing short of oddly unprofessional. I told Ashlee we would pay for the work done but that price was far more than what was actually done. Ashlee told me the bill would still stand and that she was sending me to collections. I obviously paid the bill as I was backed in a corner and threaten with collections. Her emails were extremely unprofessional she went around everything I had concerns about. Looks like a lot of people have concerns like this after speaking with many. I will be in contact with BBB. Everytime I would tell Ashlee I wanted to pay for their services just not for the amount that didn't reflect the service done she kept saying "If you don't want to pay your bill I'll send you to collections." Stay away from this company. I went to them based on a recommendation from a builder. I spoke with Tim Oswalt who designs all the pools. I asked for a quote and basically gave him the pool design that I was looking for along with the accessories and equipment. This should have been easy to design and price up but I was wrong. I was told to email all the designs and specs I received from another pool company and this would be used as the basis for their design/quote. I Was told I would get the quote back in two days. After a week I called to follow-up and still no quote. I then called back a few days later and was told Tim had surgery and was working from home. I called his cell phone and sent him an email and still no response. I did this for 3 weeks leaving messages and emails. After being frustrated I left a message to the owner of the company asking him to call me back so I can get a quote. Well...guess what? I never received a callback from the owner. If this is how they treat a prospective customer imagine what happens when you sign a contract and they never respond. Or they start the job and then disappear. Stay away from this company and go with another one that will appreciate your business. read more

Sunshine Pools are the worst services around here. For the past almost 3 months, I've paid them over $500 and they can't even get my pool cleaned. Ashley keeps on promising me that it will be swim able but it never gets to that. She has avoided my calls and won't return my calls because for some reason they can't clean my pool enough to swim in. They have been the worst pool service I've seen. The people here are very nice and very helpful. They know their stuff and are eager to share their knowledge-even if you are not buying alot from them. The prices are more than you would pay for supplies at Wal-Mart but the quality is also much better. It is a very laid back mom and pop type atmosphere. All of this would probably give them a solid four star rating. Pushing them over the top for me-the very cute elderly lady who was doing some kind of clerical work behind the counter for them. She was probably in her eighties and bagged my purchase with a huge smile. Now for the kicker- she was typing invoices or some such on a gigantic antique of a typewriter! I loved it! It was such a piece of old Americana that I stood there staring in bliss until just this side of creepy. I wasn't the only one who noticed. All three of the other customers though it was great and commented amongst themselves. I will be going back and if you need pool supplies and live in the area I highly recommend a visit. read more

Be aware of their pricing. Complete misunderstanding. Don't know who's fault it is. We thought we were paying $200 initially as a prepayment. They charged us $253.00 the first time to come out and vacuum the pool. Then another $200 to "sign up" and then $50 a week for the regular cleaning. what a shock. read more

My experience, my opinion, you decide: Sunshine Pools is not professional at all. They repeatedly provided poor service. And took advantage of the fact that we were away from our home for an extended period of time. Pool was rarely if ever cleaned. Charged for services not performed. Told us equipment wasn't working when we were able to walk over to pump and turn on ourselves with no problems. Horrible communications and management. There are too many other competent pool services to be bothered with Sunshine Pools. Instead of trying to resolve the problems they just continued overbilling and trying to extort us. read more
