Museum hours are 9 AM to 4 PM and we leisurely drove in at 10 AM on a Thursday thinking that would be more than enough time to experience all they have to offer. Boy, were we wrong! Started with the indoor experiences in the Main Street area spending a minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of 45 minutes per room(could easily have been more if we weren't trying to experience the whole thing, FOMO). Our favorites were the bubble factory(kids can encase themselves into a giant bubble!) and the grocery store with a pizza oven. Once we moved on from Main Street, we went to Explorer's Hall where there's a faux camping area, real life airplane cockpit, climbing wall, sand area with dinosaur fossils, and aquarium where we spent close to an hour. Broke for lunch at the cafe there where the food is terrible but edible(which we were expecting so no points lost there). Orders are placed thru an app, which didn't work for us due to poor signal so ordered at the front desk instead. Explored upstairs afterward, which had a STEM area which was the most enjoyable place for our 7 year old. Compressed air pipes, kinetic energy ball machines, bed of nails etc. Our 4 year old went to Roessler Hall downstairs, which had a large slide and water mill play area that kept her occupied for some time. Finally, we went to the outdoor exhibits which are fairly sizable in their own right. We started off with a train ride that leaves at the top of every hour. It's a good way to get a feel for everything offered outside(especially when the weather is hotter) to help pick and choose what's worth doing. There's playground areas, a sensory garden, walking trail/pond among other things. Overall, the visit was above my expectations and I would come back again for a day trip!

It's a beaut, Clark! Last night, my husband and I went to…read morethe tree farm for an outdoor movie; Christmas Vacation. We hadn't been before, but we were in mind to try something different for a date night. As the weather was expected to be in the 40s temp., we donned our plaid shirt jackets, gloves, caps, etc. we took a large heavy blanket and some old fashioned thermos bottles full of decaf coffee. Once there, we felt like we stepped into quite an experience. The movie was showing and there were nice rows and rows of camping chairs full of people intently watching. (We arrived a few minutes late). What was strange is that it was eerily quiet! We found a place to spread our blanket and then settled in to watch. We laughed out loud at all the many parts that were so funny, however no one else laughed! How could this be?!? It was so silent. If it wasn't so cold you would have heard crickets! We continued to laugh, trying not to break the spell everyone was under. During the movie, we grabbed two sandwiches and two waters from the food truck.. Almost $25! They were okay, but too high for the quality. Also, we were very excited about having a hot piece of pie and sipping coffee. This food truck only served cold, cream pies. While very good, not ideal for this outdoor weather. The tree farm had a large fire pit. If you needed to warm a bit. Overall, we had a great time sitting outdoors, laughing (albeit alone and surrounded by ghostly figures wrapped in blankets all slumped in chairs), and sipping coffee while watching a great Christmas classic. The event was extremely well organized. Thank you to the Wells family for making this possible. We would definitely recommend, and perhaps make this a new tradition! We'll bring friends next time! Also, there is an opportunity to cut your own tree or to choose from their pre-cut selections. They had live music the weekend we were there (Thanksgiving weekend) as well as Santa, food trucks, and an indoor space with restrooms and hot chocolate.

Great live music, dancing, lots of food, beer, vendors, carnival rides, and of course hot air balloon rides. Carnival and balloon rides continue past 10:00 pm, live music until around 11:00 pm. It's all very laid back and fun. A few negatives..Beer vending is only bottled Budweiser. No outside food or drink is allowed. No dogs. Line for balloon rides forms late afternoon, not sure what it costs or how to pay. Food options are as diverse as I've ever seen, from po' boys to gourmet grilled cheese even bratwursts. Plus they coordinate an outdoor expo next door at the Firelake Arena on the same weekend, so there is a lot to do and see. Crowd surges at dusk, before the last band plays, when thousands come to watch the "Glow". That's when a dozen or so hot air balloons light up all at the same time. It's pretty spectacular! Also expect plenty of security and volunteers for any needed directions or aid. They even supply air conditioned cooling yurts if you get overheated. Parking is plentiful if you arrive before evening, and gets hectic if you leave with the masses right after the Glow. Stay for some music and the traffic gets much better. Our family had such a good time, we'll surely be back next year...BUT...I do wish the ballooning was less weather sensitive. They are just being super cautious for safety's sake.

You can tell the establishment might have been a bank or something and I am a big fan of revitalizing the older downtown buildings, so I was immediately interested in this place. As we walked toward the restaurant, the big pretty windows gave it such a cool look. As we walked inside it was a wide open restaurant that had a bar type seating area as well as tables laid out throughout the restaurant. The restaurant joined up to a neat little shop that sold antiques and boutique type stuff. They had a small menu with about 10 items. I had the steak sandwich, mom had the chicken salad, the wife had a deli sandwich, and my kids had the bacon cheeseburger. The onion rings were wonderful! The food was fantastic and I will definitely be back! As I exited, I noticed they had a cool little bakery display, they had cheesecakes, cookies and other desserts that looked delicious. We settled on a dozen cookies and man were they good. Meeker definitely hit a home run with this place. Try it out!

It's dirty and smells moldy. Giving a one star because zero isn't an option. I left have my drink there and just walked out. My wife got sick and threw up her drink I bought her there about 5 minutes down the road. Time for new management.
