I don't even know where to begin. First things first, don't come here. I had already read the bad reviews here, and I thought I'd take a chance when my friends insisted we come here since it close to work. That was my first mistake. Right when I walked in, I was literally hit with a wave of negativity and bad customer service. The male worker, was screaming and telling us to wait and demanding what we wanted. We had made an appointment prior and were seated fairly quickly. The worker was very rude and angry when telling us the prices. Then when the male started working on my hands, he was not detailed orientated at all. To point out a few things, he did not put the bio gel on my nails evenly, when he was filling the nails he made them extremely uneven and lopsided. When I brought it to his attention that they were uneven, he insisted that it would be okay because it will be covered by shellac. When I asked him if he could even it out, he got angry, swore in his mother tongue and then got someone else to work on me. I understand that you work hard for your money, but so do I. So I expect good service. The price might I add, is not worth it. You can go downtown and receive better service, better price,better quality, and a much better vibe. read more

I go to this place sometimes when I'm desperate because it is close to where I live. I've gotten different things done from here over the years and everything is pretty bad. I got my nose pierced from here twice and it got infected both times so I ended up taking out the piercing. I had never gotten a pedicure from here before so I decided to get it two days ago and when I woke up the next day, both of my feet were bleeding. I've gotten pedicures from several other places but this has never happened to me before. The worst part is that I'm getting married this weekend so I don't know how I'm going to wear my heels now that my feet are bleeding. Also, they didn't put enough coats of nail polish on my feet so the nail polish is already starting to wear off. That means I will probably have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. I also got gel nails on my fingers and they look really fake. The place is really not that clean. When they were doing my fingers, I noticed someone elses nail on the towel they were using to do my nails. It was disgusting. A few months ago I went there for a normal manicure and the woman was rushing too much to a point where she ruined the nail polish on my thumb. When I told her to fix it she tried putting another coat of nail polish on top of the previous one which really did not fix the situation. I was really tired from a long day of work so I didn't bother getting her to fix it again. The guy that sits there can be really rude sometimes. I'm not sure why. It is the second time today that I go to Sunshine nails since Monday. On Monday night, I was desperate to have a pedicure since I had pretty bad calluses and a start of ingrown nails on 3 toes. The girl that did my feet was in a hurry and when I came home, my feet still got caught in my bed sheets. But since they were cheaper and more available than they other salons around my home, I decided to give it a go for acrylic nails with pink glittery tips. I called in the morning to inquire about the price and to know if they had time to do my nails today and my eyebrows for Mothers' Day. I was really specific saying that I wanted "an acrylic FULL-SET with pink glittery tips"... The owner, Kim, said it would be $33 and $9 for my eyebrows. I was all happy and got ready and went at Fairview Mall for my 2pm appointment. I got there 15 minutes early and they were loaded and asked me to come back later. When I finally got all sit-up and prep, I confirmed the price and then Kim they owner said with the pink tips, she can only do "POWDER GEL" and that would be $45! I remained polite but I was so freak*n pissed-off. I was about to leave but she said she would take the taxes off. POWDER GEL???? It is in fact ACRYLIC NAILS with a clear OPI UV nail polish. This OPI nail polish comes in a black bottle. I was soooooo mad! The girl (Anna I think) that did my nails was pissed that I corrected her many times (she was not filling all my nails and shame on me, I didn't supervised properly and three fingers are not as wide as my own nails.... grrrrrrr....) Terrible! I signed up here in Yelp just so i can warn people about this place. I went to get a lip wax from them and ended up having cuts on my upper lip. I was there 8:30pm. I understand it was almost closing time and all the staff are finishing up other customer's manicures and pedicures. So the lady just did the waxing really quickly! I also got my nails done from them before. Shellac/gel is suppose to last longer. Mine only lasted 3 days and it started bubbling/peeling off. I also got my eyebrows done here before and the lady was so much in a rush that she waxed the end of my eyebrows and only half is left!! I gave them so many chances but never again!! They would never say no to a customer. They would always take you in no matter how busy they are. So that's the one star i gave them for. This is good if you really are desperate to get your nails, eyebrows, lip wax done quickly without an appointment. Very quick service - worth the one star. Otherwise, this salon was a major disappointment. I was told I made a poor choice of polish colour (twice!) before she even started. (I stuck with my choice and liked it.) She did not ask about the length or shape of my nails. She got distracted very easily and painted four of my nails 3 times, and my thumb only once; my other hand was fine. One of the ladies was cleaning the floor and when I went to wash my hands, she was cleaning the mop in the restroom sink! Disgusting and unsanitary. It appears (to me) that they are breaking all the rules relative to running a hygienic and professional establishment. To top it off, the service (a simple fill with shellac) was $40 - far more than I have paid at any other establishment. I will never return. read more

I went here to get my eyelash extensions done and they glued the eyelashes to my skin!!! it costed me $95 to get them removed somewhere else and the pain was unbearable!!! when i went back to complain they were making excuses and saying " oh your allergic to the glue".... this is not true! i went to a lash specialist and they confirmed that the lashes were applied completely wrong and could have caused infection!! the costumer service is horrible and they cannot apply lashes at all!! My mom came back from getting her nails done and the lady A) cut them and my mom had to argue to shape them B) then polished my moms nails made a mistake wiped it off left the excess and painted over it. She was rude and had not a care in the world. This place has been awful twice now and we will never go back. There's always a rush to do stuff and the one person who fills the nails doesn't polish them so you constantly being moved around. The owner who's a guy is rude loud and obnoxious. It's gotta be one the worst places to go. The best is one day it's 35$ the next it's 30$ for the same thing. Overall a terrible place. Get organized and get some customer service training. The first time I went to this salon was for eyebrow threading and I got a lot of cuts on my face. Seemed like the eyebrow technician didn't know what she was doing. I was constantly tearing and realized it was because of all the cuts she was giving me with the thread. I went in again for eyebrow threading as a last resort because I work in the mall. I needed them done badly. The next lady who threaded my eyebrows was so ignorant...She started prepping the thread before I even had the chance to let her know what I wanted. Then, I let her know that I had filled my eyebrows in with brow pencil so she could remove the makeup in order to PROPERLY thread my eyebrows, but she said there was "no need." .....let me tell you, she literally threaded all my eyebrow hairs. How did she even get her certification? Don't you learn to remove all eyebrow makeup before proceeding to wax or thread? SO UNHAPPY. This place should shut down. I wish I could give a negative star rating. I went to this salon for a manicure on Nov 19, 2017 and was seated at a station that seemingly had not been cleaned. The towel in front of me had nail clippings from a previous client and the nail tech proceeded to file off my existing shellac nail polish before even attempting to clean the station. She then allowed me to dip my fingers in an entire bowl of acetone and then folded the towel, NAIL CLIPPINGS AND ALL, over my hands. I immediately asked her to change the towel and after about 1 minute of my hand being in the bowl, my skin started to burn. I had to then ask her to soak cotton in the acetone and place it on top of my nails like every other salon I've ever been to has done. I was even cut by the nail file and the nail tech tried to claim that she didn't cut me. When I showed her that I was bleeding she just put her head down and didn't say anything. When I asked for a discount because of everything I went through, the manager seemed to think it was fine that a stranger's nail clippings were put all over my hands because "I should be washing my hands after anyways". I was absolutely disgusted by this place. There is a page on the City of Toronto website where you can report unsanitary "personal service" establishments and if you have experienced anything unsanitary here (which reading the reviews seems like a lot of people have) PLEASE report them! read more

I'm not going to give this place even 1 star. Bad service, very unprofessional and no manner at all! Went to get manicure with design two days ago and asked for a specific yet simple design. The girl that started doing my manicure didn't use clean towel. Had a used nail filer for my nail. I asked for a clean/ new nail filer and tools and she told me it's all clean and new. She did not clean up my nails properly and messed up the design claiming that it's a hard design. (Seriously putting two "x"s over a nail polish shouldn't be that hard) I paid over $30 and less than a day all the colors came off and chipped. When I called to get my nail fixed the owner (a guy) said come by...we will fix and will redo all for you or get your money back. I went back all the way and the workers there said they will charge another $30 + to redo it. I had to argue over an hour to get them just fix the messy parts. NOT A RE-DO, JUST A FIX!!! As ive been told by the workers there, There is never a refund nor a re-do on regular nails. Only re-do on fake nails within certain time limit. This was the worst experience and service ever! Was not impressed with the service I received at all. I wasn't asked how I was and they rushed the process and were very rough with my nails - I got an acrylic fill. They brutally took the colour off of my nails at the beginning to the point where the machine kept spinning on my skin and hurting it. Didn't ask if I liked the length before they shaped my nail, so after they shaped my nail I asked if they could shorten them, the person huffed and threw the file on the table and angry stated that he had to start over and use the machine again. After I asked for them to be shorter, I felt attacked because then they continued to huff and file my nails brutally to the point where I have cuts on 5 of my fingers that bled. Do not recommend going here and every time I said "ow", they huffed and snatched my hand back and kept going - all because I asked for them to be a bit shorter. I give this nail salon ZERO! I wish I read the previous reviews before I decided to try this salon Sunshine Spa & Nails located at lower level of Fairview mall. I was not able to drive to my spa in Richmond Hill on time and so I decided to get my nails done at this salon since I was already in the mall. I do agree that, SUNSHINE NAIL AND SPA IS BY FAR THE WORST, do not go there!!! NOT CLEAN, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Instead of fixing the issue they double charge you!! They did not sanitize any of their tools. I asked to get my hand nails in Shellac and regular pedicure. I specifically asked them to match the colours as close as possible in a neutral colour. My toe nails were creme, off white, and they used the bright white colour (same one they use for french) on my hand nails. Right away I addressed my concern about the bright white and the lady said not to worry once the off white sparkle code goes on, it will mellow down and look alot closer to my toes. I assumed they must know what they are doing since they are operating in the mall!!! As soon as I saw one nail with sparkle, which turned out even whiter, I asked her to stop. Imagine the creme next to BRIGHT WHITE nails! made my toes look so dirty. This other Asian lady who I think was the owner, jumps out of no where raising her voice saying we don't have the colour you want!! Rather then telling me at the beginning that we don't have enough Shellac colours in our store and telling to get regular manicure, she decided to hold back so they can get more money since Shellac is more expensive. The owner refused to erase my hand polish, and instead put regular OPI on top of my bright white Shellac. I had thick layers looking nails, which started to chip after 2 days. At the end she still charged me $80!!! I was so angry at her, so I just paid her just to get out of her dirty salon! I have NEVER experienced such a service in my life! OK this was the most unprofessional salon i have ever seen or been too. I work in the mall and broke one of my nails. I said to myself eh..why not its just one nail how much can they mess up. Well at first they say its 3 dollars and then the lady who was doing my nails skipped alot of stages and did a very quick lazy and sloppy job. they then spoke in their language and said we are charing 6 dollars okay, thats not a problem but as soon as i started asking how much they charge for a fill...they attacked me and started yelling. And to add to all this yelling the lady who was initially doing my nail made it square tip knowing that 9 other fingers were round and wouldnt fix it as a matter of fact she just LEFT lol . She left me without even finishing my nail and then this man comes up to me and says i have to pay now. This is not my usual place but i just thought one nail was not a big deal but i was wrong. ghetto review how do i say this nicely?...............THEY EFFED UP MY NAILS. Unfortunately for me a zero rating is not possible....fortunate for them i guess. The are not properly trained and should not be doing nails. Only reason they are still in business is because the are convenient. Believe that! I went here (3 year customer) to get my regular refill and my nails look so lumpy. I mentioned it to the She man who supervises and he had the nerve to argue with me telling me that I should have brought it up to the nail tech. Yes hes right BUT my time is valuable, and when they've already had to re-do SIX NAILS in one sitting, I aint got time to be redoing a seventh when I got ISH to do!!! for some reason he was unable to grasp this. This place is terrible.I had nice long nails and went in to the salon to have shellac done. They ruined my nails, did a sloppy job, that my nail began chipping the same day. There was bubbles and imperfections in the polish that the proceded to put on my nails. I called before coming in following day and they said they were free. However when I came in the man refused to help me. Instead of helping the situation the man was rude, proceeded to grabbed my nail and scratch parts of both the shellac and my nail off, saying look if you do this it comes off. Trying to indicate that I was responsible for the way my nails turned out. He literally removed a chunk of my nail. Said he was busy and that no one can do my nails. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Yelp needs to change it to no star because there business don't even deserve it. I went to get a french manicure today for my birthday on Sunday. The guy working there gave me this weird vibe. And he was RUDE to me. Number one he first put a soaking bowl infront of me without saying put it in or not put it in. So I put one hand in thinking he put it there so I can put my hands in it. He starts yelling like Nooo dont put your hands in. So I am like ok. Second he starts filing my pinky nail for .2 of a second, phone rings and he jumps up ans leaves me there just waiting. He finally finishes on the phone after 3 mins. Yells at me from across the room and says she coming. I'm like who the f***s coming like really. So at this point he jumps and works on someone else ans for the rest of the time I'm there hes there working on the same lady, just glaring at me giving me the dirtiest look. Ok, I have to admit the nail tech that was working on my was and nice and engaging in conversation. I don't know why though he probably told her too. But after I gave her the 7 dollar tip when my nails were done she was gone nowhere to be found, meaning she only wanted the money. Anyways to the point, She asks me to go wash the oil off my hand and The guy worker that was working on me in the beginning and jump to answer the phone, hes at the cash register while I was getting up he sees me and he slams the bathroom door and I had to open it. Im like ok again and brush off. I sit back down and she does the rest. I noticed when she was finished there was a bunch of airbubbles on multiple nails. And I came back home and it feels like my fingers were stomped on. The worst experience I have ever had and I hope he goes out of business. Spare yourself and don't come here. Worst service and nail job I've ever received. It feels like a disorganized factory assembly line and you are just being squeezed in and pushed through. My nail technician left me in the middle of my appointment without saying a word to explain. She was gone for over 15min because she went to take a walk in who needed eyebrow waxing. I was in a hurry so I asked someone to help me. The guy dismissively told me not to worry then walked away. He finally came back and sloppily slapped nail polish on my nails and hands. When I asked him to fix it, he gave me attitude and basically said that I'm in a rush so this is what i get. Me being on a time constraint shouldn't mean that I should purposely get a bad job done! went to this place on February 16, 2012. I had gel nails removed and a manicure with shellac polish done. My total cost was $45.20 plus tip. Within two days my nails where splitting and breaking. They did not cut away the nail ends weaked by the gel nail. When these started breaking they also ripped away at my cuticles and healthy nails. I went back on the following Thursday and when a woman came over and asked if she could help me I asked if she remembered me and she said yes. I held out my hands to show her my nails. She started yelling at me. I couldn't get a word in. She said it was my fault because I told them to save my damaged nails. Not true, I thought they should have been clipped off but when the nail girl left them I didn't say anything becuase I thought she was professional and knew what she was doing and that it must be that the shellac would protect them. The screaming woman said she was the owner. Now I really don't know how she would know that I said to save my nails because she wasn't anywhere near where my nails were being done. I just walked away in disgust. I expected her to look at my nails and say something like "lets see what we can do about this". My hands are so sore now that it hurts to do up a button. I have come to this nail salon a few times now and this would be the third worst experience I have experience at this salon. First bad experience, the male that is usually working at this salon, I am not quite sure what he does, but he is rude and thinks he's funny when he's being rude to customers. Second bad experience, a few times I came in, I asked if they were able to take me in right away, if not I can come back when someone is ready to service my nails. They tell me yes, but then they had me waiting in the chair for 20 mins before someone could come in and give me service. This last one, I just had about enough, I came in and they asked me what I need done, told the girl who greeted me, manicure/pedicure, she then tells me to come in and to choose a nail polish colour. I hear her having some sort of conversation with the female who seems to be the owner and the male, after a few minutes of looking for the nail polish of my liking I see the girl who greeted me doing some other girl's nails. I asked her, aren't you doing my nails, and she yells out "No, ask the guy". That was the last straw. I returned the nail polish and basically stormed out of the place and told the guy, I am never coming back here again. I doubt they gave a crap whether I came back or not. DO NOT visit this place. I just had the worst ear piercing experience to date. I informed the technician that I wanted my piercings done in the same place as a piercing that had closed up. I showed her the visible markings where the old piercing was and she marked me with a marker. However, when she pierced my ear, the back of the piercing wound up way far to the side on my earlobe, far from the original rear hole. When I realized this and returned to the store, she refused to refund me for the service, claiming that I only claimed I wanted the front to be in the same place. I can't even imagine saying the words "I only care that the front is in the same place." Then she told me that the piercing gun she uses can't make a piercing like I wanted. So I showed her the corresponding piercing on my other ear, which was done both correctly and with a gun. But even if it were the case (which it obviously isn't) that the gun is incapable of doing it, why not say something about that before poking a hole in my body? I agree with what Patty on the nail part. i've been there on and off few years cuz it closes to my living area and is inside the mall. I also give Lee a BIG tip everytimes when i get my manicure & pedicure done. Just recently (Dec 12) i went there, i got pissed off when i get my gel with color (my own nail) done !!!! Not even back home, i'm driving on my way home and i already noticed a chip & bump at the edge on 2 of the nails on my right hand an 1 on my left hand plus a day after the bio gel came off 1 of my nail and my nail is broken. I just couldn't believe it and i can tell their services are getting worst, going downslope !!! Even a month before, i have my nail grew in order to get biogel with french done, the owner i.e. Kim, she cut my nail off and put in the fake nail. And she said that was what i want. I said NO and asked her to check with the lady (she was working with the other customer and almost done) who used to do the nail for me and she clearly understood what i want. That lady came back to me and tried to calm me down as i was yelling at her so loud. It ended up i have to pay for over $90 for this service on that day. What i can see from them is their business is getting worse and they are trying to convince customers for more services to get more monies. I just recently went to this nail place that is loacted close to my home. I had no time to get my nails done for I work alot and alot is going on, regardless I walked in and said I do not have much time can I just get Shellac nail polish no manicure! they said it was ok I sat down found the color and bu the end of my 30 minutes or so of being there my nails looked terrible! They put more than 3 layers of Shellac on, while it was drying it kept getting lines so she would clump on more clean Shellac and in the end I had this nasty layered clumb of brown on each nail. I was so upset and not only did my nails look TERRIBLE!!!!!! They charge you there an arm and a leg for nailpolish! after 2 days,my nails started to peel off! My entire reason to go there was because I have no time to get my nails done! The serivce was bad, they only spoke to each other in their language and not to you. Just a BIG DISSAPONTMENT!
