I know my household is not the only one who will miss them but they do get mad busy sometimes so I imagine their flash new shop will be worth the wait. The thing I love about this place is mainly the fact that the family that run it are so friendly and hardworking. I also know that anything I buy from here will be good - if it's not perfectly fresh and tasty, they don't sell it. Everyone has had those times with the bad bag of kiwifruit or floury apples or whatever, but if that happened here they would be so embarrassed and no doubt give you your money back. It's that kind of place; they CARE. The pricing is excellent and I've seen them help people carry their stuff to the car, give free pieces of fruit to cute littlies and genuinely be a cornerstone to the Balmoral community - it's like the pub for busy mums; if I haven't seen someone in a while, odds are I will run into them here.

But as soon as I walked in saw that they also sell a whole lot of great health foods and Asian products. There was gluten free flour, nuts, dried fruit as well as tofu, rice noodles and sauces. It's a great one stop shop for your dinner that night. If you need something when you're on the run, this is the place to go as you can get everything, and you know it'll be really healthy too. If you live in this area it's great on the way home from work as you just pop off the motorway and you're almost there. The produce itself looked really fresh and lovely. So I usually just pop up the road to get something for tea that night. There's something awesome about buying locally and I feel a little bit more satisfied with my meal when I do. The fruit is sometimes a little sketchy but if you just dog around a little bit more you'll find good pieces of produce. They have just the right amount of produce. I hate going to fruit and vege stores only to find myself running up and down the huge aisles like I'm at the supermarket. This store is really cute and small so you can find everything because it's right in front of you.

My weekly shop for two here usually comes to under $50 and includes a tonne of fresh fruit and vege as well as eggs and depending on the week, nuts. They do also have bread, milk and cheese but it's more expensive that the supermarket and they've got a really limited range - wouldn't recommend unless desperate.

I spoke to someone working out the front who directed me to the manager who was more than happy to talk to me about the farm and what they grow there. You can buy vegetables on-site or they also sell their produce at a farmers' market. He was preparing for a meeting at the time but offered to show me around the farm if I was able to come another time. As well as a range of organic vegetables they also have free range eggs and lamb. I have also since found out that Hamlin Farm provides work opportunities for people who have experienced mental illness and assisting their transition into the workforce. Awesome.

They had a small selection from $6.30 to $22.80. I may be all about organic and natural, but I'm no fool - you can keep that $22.80 all to ya self! The staff is well versed in the products they stock, which meant the cashier was helpful when I asked her to recommend a product. Turns out she was familiar with Toms of Main. I wanted something comparable, so she helped me make an informed decision. I was also pleased to see they carry Dr. Bronners soap. If you don't know about Dr. B's magic soap, get some and have your world rocked! Aside from toiletries, they also stock locally grown produce and dairy. Dry goods such as lentils, rice, pasta, teas and coffee are also readily available. Overall a friendly store. Most of the natural or local organic items you may be seeking can be found here.
