We were advised that the Super 8 was very dirty so we booked a room at the Best Western. I brought my own Clorox wipes because I need to safeguard myself from this COVID. Thank God I did. They are definitely not sanitizing or cleaning between guests. The bathroom was gross. The tiles have not been cleaned since they were put down. All of the shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers were empty. I travel with my own. The tub was gross. The beds were clean and there were no bed bugs so that was a plus. If you have to stay there bring some clorox. And some air fresheners.

But I need to share my experience with any other travelers out there considering a stay. I reserved 2 rooms online and called ahead to make sure my daughter could check in since she was getting there before I was. She arrived in the evening while my plane was still in the air, they let her in the room but didn't give her a key, told her the WiFi didn't work and when she turned on the TV, that didn't work either. So she's stuck in her room with a 2 year old with nothing to do and can't leave. We got there and checked in, the next morning our TV and WiFi were working, so the problem had been fixed. Cleanliness was an issue, there were what appeared to be pubic hairs on the bathroom floor and my wife claims her blanket smelled like body odor. I didn't smell anything myself. We stayed there 2 days, mainly because it's close to the people we needed to see while we were there. On the third day we came back to the room and there were post-it notes on the doors telling us to see the front desk. They told us our rooms needed a deep cleaning and that they were moving us to new rooms. I asked why, they said that they have to do this anytime an infestation is discovered. They said it wasn't our rooms but we were in the vicinity. We quickly packed up and checked out. To be fair, I don't fault the motel for this, and they let us know when the issue was discovered and reimbursed us for the day even though we were leaving after scheduled check out time. Amenities were what you'd expect for the price. If they could fix the big issues, it'd be a decent place to stay. It's the only motel I've seen where there is a bottle opener mounted to the back of the bathroom door at just the right height for opening a beer while seated. So there's that.

I showed her the slip that indicated the room rate and that tax was charged, and if they had charged me the wrong amount, that was their problem and not mine. I turned to head out, and she yelled, "Screw you!" to me and then started following me out the door. I jumped in my car, locked the doors, and raced off. Never had an experience like that before! Since I looked online this was b.s. every "deal" was dressed up lines of pretty bull$#!t. I am in room 102 "The Peeluxe Deluxe" it smells like straight up urine. I am clearly in the "dog" room where its been peed in at least a billion times. I should have lied and said I didn't have a dog since mine doesn't bark and is house broken. I will never stay here again. I am also by the stairs where other people (I am guessing) don't realize how far voices carry. I am listening to an Indian family plan their entire day tomorrow on the 2nd floor with someone standing at the bottom of the stairs right outside my door as I write this. Its 10:52 pm yay me! Every time I travel this route it's always like this and I wonder why it's only like this for the women's bathroom???
