A great hotel, parking lot was empty because of COVID-19. 51 bucks plus tax, a great deal. Room was clean and everything worked.

We found two bedbugs in our beds. Other than that, it was an okay stay. Nothing fancy, but it was inexpensive.

But I need to share my experience with any other travelers out there considering a stay. I reserved 2 rooms online and called ahead to make sure my daughter could check in since she was getting there before I was. She arrived in the evening while my plane was still in the air, they let her in the room but didn't give her a key, told her the WiFi didn't work and when she turned on the TV, that didn't work either. So she's stuck in her room with a 2 year old with nothing to do and can't leave. We got there and checked in, the next morning our TV and WiFi were working, so the problem had been fixed. Cleanliness was an issue, there were what appeared to be pubic hairs on the bathroom floor and my wife claims her blanket smelled like body odor. I didn't smell anything myself. We stayed there 2 days, mainly because it's close to the people we needed to see while we were there. On the third day we came back to the room and there were post-it notes on the doors telling us to see the front desk. They told us our rooms needed a deep cleaning and that they were moving us to new rooms. I asked why, they said that they have to do this anytime an infestation is discovered. They said it wasn't our rooms but we were in the vicinity. We quickly packed up and checked out. To be fair, I don't fault the motel for this, and they let us know when the issue was discovered and reimbursed us for the day even though we were leaving after scheduled check out time. Amenities were what you'd expect for the price. If they could fix the big issues, it'd be a decent place to stay. It's the only motel I've seen where there is a bottle opener mounted to the back of the bathroom door at just the right height for opening a beer while seated. So there's that.

It was getting very late and we were tired, so looked on the Wyndham app for a hotel nearby. We reserved this hotel and showed up there about 5 minutes later. I asked if he could give me a floor level room because I had a big, heavy, electric cooler that I needed to carry into the room and that I couldn't leave it in my car because it needed to be plugged in to keep the food from going bad. The man behind the desk said they don't allow that. I said, "You don't allow electric coolers to be plugged in, in the room?" He shook his head and said they didn't allow that. So, I told him that I'd need to find another place to stay, then, because I couldn't leave my cooler in the car and let the food spoil overnight. I've never had a hotel not allow me to plug my cooler in, in the room. I asked him if we could cancel the room and he said yes. So, I went to my car, found another hotel about 20 minutes away (Super 8 in Tifton, GA...great service and nice budget hotel!) and tried to call Wyndham to make sure my reservation was cancelled, but they were closed until morning. The next day, I called Wyndham to inquire as to whether my reservation had been cancelled and it had not. They said they needed to call the hotel to verify my story before cancelling and giving me my points back. They called the hotel several times and could not get ahold of anyone. We tried an hour later and still couldn't get ahold of them. I called the hotel directly and a woman picked up the phone and immediately put it down, without saying a word to me, and I could hear her on the phone (assuming her cell) talking to her medical office about her medical issue/appointment. I called Wyndham about an hour later and they tried the hotel again and finally got ahold of them. They said the man who answered the phone would not be refunding me my points because he held the room for me. What?? He did NOT hold the room for me. He KNEW I was leaving because of his weird policy about not allowing me to plug the cooler in, in my room. I made the reservation 5 minutes before I got there and I left immediately, so he did not hold the room for me. Do not ever stay at this hotel. The customer service is severely lacking and they are a dishonest business. Steer clear!! Drive the extra 20 minutes to Tifton! If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

When I checked in, they kept asking for and swiping my credit card, which made me a bit nervous. It took a long time, and they were not overly pleasant. The property was run-down, and the room was about what you would expect for a cheap place---a little dingy, but relatively clean. When I checked out, the woman told me I owed more money because they had forgotten to charge tax. I showed her the slip that indicated the room rate and that tax was charged, and if they had charged me the wrong amount, that was their problem and not mine. I turned to head out, and she yelled, "Screw you!" to me and then started following me out the door. I jumped in my car, locked the doors, and raced off. Never had an experience like that before! I keep nervously checking my credit card statement now.

It's very easy to access with smooth on and off ramps, making it a stress-free break from the highway. Parking is thoughtfully organized: cars park closest to the main building near the highway, while trucks and vehicles with trailers have dedicated spaces on the other side. This layout keeps everything flowing smoothly and reduces congestion. The rest area has an open, airy design with a central breezeway. Restrooms are conveniently split -- men's on one side and women's on the other -- and were clean and well-maintained during our visit. Vending machines are located right in the breezeway for quick snacks and drinks. Outside, there are several covered picnic tables to the side of the main building, perfect for stretching your legs or enjoying a meal in nicer weather. Overall, this is a nice, functional rest area that provides travelers with everything needed for a quick, comfortable stop. It's clean, safe, and convenient -- exactly what you want when you're on the road. Whether you need a bathroom break, a place to walk the dog, or just a few minutes to relax, the Ashburn Northbound Rest Area delivers. Highly recommended for anyone traveling I-75 through Georgia.

You'll need to take the "truck" side. I took the "auto" side and had to do some careful reversing at the exit. I did not visit the restrooms or the vending machines or the picnic tables at the rest area. This was a quick stop to empty the black water in the RV. Easy enough though there is no proper spot for the host to go into. There's a "puddle" here that was very unsanitary. There was also not a hose for the flush water but there is a trash can for your gloves when you're done. I appreciate the free dump and beggars can't be choosers. But it does need some repair.
