The woman at the counter didn't let me have a room because she " didn't like me" even tho I already paid on Expedia

So I paid Expedia for a room at the Super 8 in Corydon and the lady didn't let me have a room because "she didn't like me"

Horrible experience. The manager was rude and refused to listen to me. The website directly says that kids under 17 may be in the room as long as they sleep on existing beds. It also says that up to 3 people may stay in the specific room which I reserved (king sized bed.) I reserved for two adults, one child. When I walked in to check in, the manager told me he could not allow this. That I would have to pay for an extra room. I showed him the web page. (Posted below) He brushed it off, saying it did not matter. I told him that's fine, I'd go ahead and pay, but would he please look at what the site says so he knows? Again, he refused. Turned me over to his wife to handle. They are Indian. She refused to even run my card. Very haughty, and I continued to be kind. I went ahead and stayed, because I wasn't sure I could find another spot to stay. The bedding had stains, the dresser was broken, the bathroom door wouldn't shut, the tub leaked and wouldn't hold water. There was no breakfast, and honestly, one year into covid they could have come up with some accommodations. :/ Don't stay at this hotel! Don't reward bad behavior! $117 is too much to pay for being treated so poorly!

Had a great stay. Breakfast and the staff was super. Just had some problems with the online reservations. Next time I will book by calling the hotel directly.

    Love my room

Super cute room. Big bathroom. Great staff. Clean. Great location. Only paid $115 for two nights thru hotwire. Breakfast was as expected.

We drove straight from our home to the hotel in Corydon about a five hour drive so seeing that Comfort Inn sign was rewarding at the end of the day. The proximity to Louisville is great for this hotel and it sits right off of I-64 and Hwy 135. When we arrived there were a couple of folks ahead of us checking in. It didn't take long to get checked in and get our room key. The room was nice and cool (did I mention it was hot and muggy that week?) and felt great. The hotel was nicely maintained and the room was very clean and neat. Housekeeping even left us a little note on the night stand. They have a pretty decent breakfast spread, however we played so early in the day that we usually just grabbed some fruit and muffins to go. The staff was great each day and we really enjoyed our stay. If we go back to Louisville for another tournament we will definitely stay here again.

Not going to let that happened again. There is a smell as soon as you walk in. I don't think I've ever had such a bad night of sleep because of a bed. The rooms have been updated, but it seems as though they didn't change the beds. So incredibly lumpy and uncomfortable. Mold and mildew in the bathroom, creaky floors, mediocre A/C. Nah. Not the hotel for me.

West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

For a property seeming to target the upper middle market, I think there is a lot of value. They have many free amenities that most no longer do - no resort fee, no parking fee, free shuttle to the sister hotel and downtown. I also feel the pricing at restaurants is somewhat reasonable, particularly at happy hour. Add in amenities closer to a luxury property - evening music, nice indoor pool almost always open, and obviously just being in the unique dome... This is a winner. We found the service to be consistently friendly. We had no issues with getting help for our large amount of stuff at check in or check out. Very nice to our dog and he got a lot of treats for the pet fee. Dining service was on the slower side but seemed to fit the vibe. We stayed in a suite with two queens. It was large. The furniture was on the worn side but well maintained. Nice to see unique furnishings vs generic all white everywhere. Plenty for the kids to do. We enjoyed the newly restored bowling alley and found it nicer than the same priced one at French Lick Hotel. We did like going to French Lick for the shopping and to read about the history. There is a lot about the history everywhere, including the small museum (a large room) in the hotel. We were very happy and would like to return.

Hampton never lets me down!…read more We came here after checking in a not so great hotel, and it was so different and lovely. It smelled fresh and clean, the staff was kind, and the bed was so comfty. Breakfast was good - obviously not restaurant level, but yummy. The oatmeal bar was fantastic! The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

They are dog friendly and service dog friendly, which is appreciated. We were given a magnet to put on our door stating that dogs were in the room for the hotel staff and other customers. The room smelled very clean and didn't give me any issues with my allergies. I always have to check and room out before I bring my things in. My nose is so sensitive. Lol. The only downsides that we found we the room keys. They didn't always take and open the door for us; but that doesn't mean the key didn't eventually work. Also, we had a small toilet paper roll and no extra toilet paper roll under the sink. We had Kleenex to use; but it honestly felt like sandpaper. The Cupboard had a variety of food items but seemingly pricy, as in 1 individual pop tart package was $2.00. The small kitchen inside the rooms were nice though. Full size fridge/freezer with 4 sets of silverware, plates, bowls and cups. It was nice to feel reassured that this establishment cares about sanitizing, when all of the dishes were newly cleansed in the dishwasher. All in all, it was a pleasant stay. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back.

Cons: no free breakfast, linen was mildewed and therefore made the whole room smell rotten. A/C is motion sensored and anemic. His means no A/C until you return to your room at night so you sweat as it tries to cool your room from 80 degrees. Then it turns off over night since you're sleeping and not setting off the motion sensor, so you wake up in a pool of sweat. Pretty darn unpleasant and the main reason for 2 stars Will I stay again? Absolutely not. "Energy efficient" is code for uncomfortable.
