The people that work there are rude the place is unsanitary the bread they make is full of flies inside of the area that they keep it. I like this little market (because it is close to my apartment complex)! The prices will be a little higher and it will not be as spacious as your bigger supermarkets but they have a great and delicious selection of pan dulce, flan, and sweet dishes. I also go here to pick my carnitas by the pound, which tastes much better than some that are being served by other local restaurants. Please do not come expecting everyone speaks perfect English... try to speak a little Spanish if you can! I find the staff to be courteous, friendly, and respectful. I have been here numerous of times and I can honestly say that its... ehhhh it's alright. Nothing crazy really. Like most markets, theres fruits, veggies, meat section, a few seafood choices, baked goodies and etc. Kinda small joint but I come here sometimes to grab a few ingredients. Anywho I'm going to try and make this review short. A few things I have had problems with are the meat and seafood I got a few times. Last week I bought about 1.5 pounds of the ranchero steak. Went home and opened the bag, noticed the ones I were given had a bit of discoloration and an awful, definitely Italy not fresh odor. Let's go back to 2 months ago I bought 2 tilapia to deep fry at home. I opened the bag and it really smelled awful. I checked the hills and all and k e off the bat it is t fresh. Oh the nerve the guy who helped said "it's just your luck, we got these fresh for you" smfh A few times, right there near the meat and seafood section is where the hot cooked foods are. A few times I've gotten menudo from them and all I found was tripe and no pigs feet. A few times it was just bones (which really bummed me out). Another time I was disappointed was when I ordered a torta. It was very sloppy, it was falling g all apart before I even took my first bite, another time my burrito came with a few lengua or tripas. I come for the pastor tacos. Or is it el pastor? Typical white person mix up, right? Anyways... They're kinda the most amazing thing you'll ever put in your mouth. Ok. Maybe not THE MOST, but pretty stinking close. The ceviche is also fantastic. I don't know too much about the rest of the place because I'm here for the tacos only. Oh yeah. Don't stare at the floor. I love thier house made salsas. The spicy green salsa and pico are my go-tos to make some killer guacamole. I also love the house marinated Carne asada which is the same price and far superior to what you would purchase at Foodsco, per say. The customer service needs help. I will give them credit for working on it as the last 2x I have gone I have been greeted and helped promptly. This has not typically been the case and I am glad to see that they are now taking customer service seriously. Are you serious? I'm asking because I'm not sure if this food is supposed to be a joke or not. I am almost positive these carnitas were made yesterday. Bone dry and absolutely zero flavor. The green sauce looks separated and oily. I've lived here my entire life, this is the first time I've eaten here in roughly twenty years. I loved it as a teenager. Called because the lady drenched my fruit in straight up Tapatio when I asked for Chamoy and Tajin. When I called the lady that answered hung up on me because I didn't speak Spanish. I called back and asked "why did you hang up on me just because I don't speak Spanish." She said "oh one moment" and left me on hold for 15 mins. I don't even care about the food at this point. I'm highly pissed because I was hung up on and then left on hold. Customer service and lack of listening to your paying customers has now lost you two good frequent customers. came here with my mom to eat and literally when we walked in we walked out, rude customer service and the food looked unappetizing. There was a lady outside BBQing and she had gloves on while handeling the meat and she would wipe her gloves on her pants and then use her cell phone then go back to handling the meat with same gloves....gross. Never coming to this place again, I opened a yelp account just to write this teviee , that I hope many will see..... I go to this place almost everyday, bc it's close to home, I bought chicken to make a chicken soup, when I got home the chicken smelled disgusting, so I'd thought I'd pay the owner a visit, bc this is not the first time this happens, so I'd thought I'd let him be aware of quality of meats/chicken their selling, I asked him to smell the chicken, he said nothings wrong with it and gave me a dirty look, and shrugged his shoulders, walked towards the carnicer , and told him to deal with it, and just walked off, didn't even apoligze. This upsets me, that he cared less to try and comfort me that he would try to fix the problem. I am disgusted that he prefers to sell his spoiled meats, then his customers, what would have happen if my baby would have eaten that, would he have helped me out after he got sick? I'm still amazed as to how poor and unprofessional he handled himself. read more
