We venture down the road from our original destination and pop into a small cafe called Citrus, for one of a number of reasons; it's proximity towards our original location, it's enclosed and privacy providing booths and the fact that it is a purveyor of eggs benedict, "An important attribute!" I am told. We order some coffees and then, when everyone arrives, some breakfast. I get the fruit platter with yoghurt and a drizzle of honey. It is just what the doctor ordered. (To catch you up, there was a doctor who ordered a fruit platter, yoghurt and a drizzle of honey once.) I ate those seasonal fruits with gusto, refreshed to my core as I drank that soy cappuccino and woke up for the day. Meeting underway, we discussed our various points on the agenda and tried to move forward as a company. The private booth, the perfect backdrop to our production meeting, and the fruit platter an amazing and delicious breakfast indeed.

I've always been taught when a place does EVERYTHING, they usually don't do ANYTHING exceptionally well. My feeling is this fits here, but if you just want a generic meal in a pinch, you could do worse. It's not bad.

This…read moresmall little cafe is a interesting place to grab a coffee - contrary to the listed address the entrance is actually on Albany Street (the sign is easy to see from the street). The inside has a small, cozy little kitchen with staff frantically preparing coffee behind their machine and an intimate little area to sit and drink (or, in good weather, tables outside). The coffee is reasonably well prepared - my double mac had just the right amount of milk (not much) and had a nice smooth taste, not bitter at all. I ordered mine to go as I was meeting my sister, and it has the small gimmick of being served with a small choc wafer! One draw back (and the reason I would deduct a half star, if I could) is that they serve my double mac in a tall takeaway cup, instead of the small paper ones! Anyway, there are a few reasonably good cafes in Crows Nest (to my surprise, I must admit), and whilst I would not go back to this one everytime I will definitely return at some time.

I drop by here now and then as I have a work site nearby but popped in on a Sunday morning at 8am and the place was boomin! Locals are swinging by for some great coffee and decent eats no different to what is being dished up in the inner city. Prices are the same as what you would expect from an inner city hipster cafe so its not cheap.

You'll find queues here from people all over the west who are in the know of bread rolls. They're crusty but not too hard as the crunch to reveal a buttery soft inner. These guys also make a pretty tasty traditional Vietnamese Pork Roll with some tasty home made pate and creamy butter. They also offer a westernised chicken roll too. Just coming home from Paris I realised that their croissants are pretty top notch too. But best of all like most Vietnamese hot bread stores... You only need to empty your weeks pockets of loose change!
