This was my first and only time at Supercuts. I went in for a trim to straighten out the bottom layer of my hair refresh my shorter layers. Rather than just trim off hair that didn't line up with the bottom, she took off length and did it in a sloppy way that results in it being noticeably uneven. She didn't refresh my layers and instead cut the hair around my face which I was happy with as is and said I wanted to be left as it was. She hastily cut into the angle on the bottom from in a careless and asymmetrical way. She repeatedly said she had to cut the way she was cutting bc it was messed up, even though it was her actively messing up what looked good before. She carelessly spent no time on my hair- I was in and out of there in 9 minutes. Trimming and shaping up layers is a standard thing, but this place is apparently incapable. Supercuts lives down to its reputation. I was told there wasn't time for a wash and dry, and was charged $21 for the cut and I gave a $5 tip, and I suppose you get what you pay for. I wanted a straight across trim and there is more unevenness and stray hairs than before, and it's shorter than I am comfortable with. People get a haircut to feel good, but I left here feeling absolutely disgusting. I feel like garbage now, and will probably have to go to Chop Shop so I can feel human again. read more

I found LB Supercuts a few years ago after a surgical procedure and went there almost daily for 2 or 3 weeks for shampoos I was treated nicely although I realize shampoos are not very profitable. They used high quality paul Mitchell products which I still purchase there at a very reasonable price. My partner went in for a pixie cut just asking for a little to be taken off. The hair stylist completely ignored any input, them repeatedly telling her to stop, and cut parts that she was expressly told not to. She even had the nerve to smile smugly while my partner is holding back tears and say "It'll grow back". I'm beyond furious at the mediocre and frankly cruel service provided. I would've walked back in and demanded a refund or flat out not paid if it wouldn't have embarrassed my partner. Don't come here unless you're looking to be ignored, degraded, and disrespected. read more

I used to have my haircut done here with Ester who usually did my hair. I was just stunned with her attitude when I came to ask what to do with my partly grey hair. She gave me a short answer which I completely understand because she was the only person working there and was busy airblowing a customer. So, I respectfully asked if she would want me to wait or come back so I can decide to dye my hair there. After asking her the first time, I thought she didn't hear me, so I repeated, "Do you want me to wait or come back?" And she just totally ignored me. I knew she clearly heard me. That was really rude of her. I was nice and respectful, since I knew her and she had done my hair many times before. And I left. Unbelievable! I am never going back to Supercuts in Long Beach. I suggest the management should teach them how to be respectful and not rude to their customers even if working alone in that place. Disappointed with her attitude. read more

I hate giving negative reviews. It makes me feel pessimistic and one sided. She was having a bad day I think. When I came in she sighed and said it was a long day. Okay, I thought. Personally, I like it when the barbers don't talk to you while they're cutting your hair. So I guess I should be happy cuz the entire experience was totally silent. I showed her a picture of what my old haircut looked like. She took about 10-15 mins cutting it. She didn't wash my hair nor did she offer. When she was done I asks her to trim my beard. She sighed and said it's an extra charge. "Ok" I said. So, she did a good job at trimming my beard. When it was time to pay I was looking in the mirror and noticed she left the front of my hair too long. I immediately thought about how I would cut it when I got home and I stopped myself and asked if she could cut the front more. She did. And now that I look at it I wish I would have asked her to cut even more. It ended up being $38 bucks w tip. She didn't wash my hair. I don't remember the last time I spent over $30 for a cut but if they do a good job I wouldn't mind paying $70. The thing I kept thinking, it's usually $25 with tip with a wash. She trimmed my beard without a wash and $38, and I had to tell her to cut more and I'm still not happy with the final cut cuz I know I'm gonna have to cut it myself. I don't know. Bad experience. I hate giving bad reviews because there's so much that factors in. Unless the staff physically cusses you out or assaults you it's hard for me to give a really Negative review but I'm not happy with the way it went back there. read more

I got a haircut this afternoon from Esther. When I entered the salon I did not have to wait at all as there were three stylists and no customers. Esther took me to her chair asked me what I wanted and gave a good haircut. She doesn't really make any conversation though. But then, when I asked for a rinse after the haircut, that's where the problem was. As she was rinsing my hair, a decent amount of water went down my sweater and my shirt. Although she did make an effort to dry me off by using the blow dryer, that did not really work. Overall, good haircut , disastrous rinse, no conversation. read more

It's a bird. It's a plane. No- it's Super Cuts and they're terrible. After accepting it's flaws for the past few months, I've come to accept that this place sucks. All I get is a buzz cut. How do you mess that up? They do. Every time. The only variable is to what extent. Believe it or not this review isn't even about the time they cut me and I bled... I looked at myself in the mirror before leaving and there was a line of hair down the middle like a white-trash faux hawk. It was clear as day- un-missable; yet I needed to tell them in order to have it corrected. They fixed it and when i returned home I found more errors that I needed to fix myself. read more

They should rename this Sexistcuts. If you are a woman, despite the people working there also being women, you will be treated like trash. The women working there will make you sit and wait while they take in male customers who entered after you and then glare at you instead of giving you an explanation. They fawn all over the males and make sure everything is perfect, but women are given zero attention. Then the women cutting your hair do not listen and just cut whatever they want. The last time I asked for a trim. The woman kept pressing me about the last time I had a cut - I told her I got my last trim there and maybe check the computer. She sighed and then just chopped off several inches that did not need to go. I had not had a regular haircut as I had to fly home and take care of a sick family member for several months and I don't see how that is really any of her business, but I was retraumatized by this haircut. They really are totally unfriendly and unkind. Not a service that any one should endure. You will be better off using YouTube videos and doing it yourself -- the outcomes will be better than what you paid for at Sexistcuts!!!! NEVER AGAIN! read more

I asked for a sidebang on my left side and to have my hair cut with long layers. I received RUSHED service - strike one. The woman cutting my hair told me I she cut my bangs in the middle so I can put them to the side on the right and left. Oh wait, I didn't ask for that? Strike two. Once I questioned my layers since they looked off she started to blow dry them and told me they were cut at an angle so you can't tell right away. Strike three. Run AWAY - don't bother. read more

I came as a walk-in just for a bang trim and ended up getting my hair dyed to cover some grays and match my natural color. Joan was my stylist and she was very thoughtful and careful in ensuring she got the color just right. I got a lot of compliments at work today. The prices are very reasonable and the value is great. Although the people were nice I paid over $80 dollars for bad color and haircut. You know what they say, when you pay cheaper, you may end up paying more at the end. I use to have great hair soft and thick but so many bad bleached jobs turned my hair to straw won't name names I will hint in long Beach on beech Street been there 20 plus yrs...just want to say I was a loyal client but always had to go back for a retouch never got it right the first time. Went to a few places not so great..last night went to super cuts in Long Beach by Pier 1 unbelievable what a Great place I was recommended by a friend the best experience I felt at home immediately . Zoe was awesome sweet and professional advised me on what I need to do to get my healthy hair back. She massaged my scalp with a great conditioner it was just a great experience so professional no reading books in the middle of the cutting floor. No constant gum chewing. No talking loudly . No rudeness toward long time clients. Oh yes and let's not forget at the old place they hired a brand new hair washer who had no clue and is left to get color out of my hair and almost drowns me in the process....omg the worst...please thank God I found you. I want to give this place a below zero rating. I went in for a haircut. I have been there before with ok results, so I went back but never never again. If there is a corporate I am complaining to them and the BBB for a start. This person's name is Ester. She really ought to go to school and not learn to cut hair on the job. I was specific. Take half an inch off the bottom. NO LAYERS, NO BANGS, NOT SHORT, JUST HALF AN INCH OFF THE BOTTOM. Even my husband is complaining that my hair looks like Brillo. She hacked and chopped not just layers, but it looks like it was cut with an ax. Not just across but in clumps all across the back of my head. The front is now wispy and short and blowing in my face. I SPECIALLY TOLD HER I HATE MY HAIR IN MY FACE. I SPECIFICALLY TOLD HER NO LAYERS. I waited almost a year for my hair to grow out long enough for one straight cut across the back straight...a line ___ like that but apparently she has no idea what a straight line and half an inch off the bottom means. went back last week as i was due for a cut and color..actually i was due in november but due to sandy i had to wait..they did a good job of cleaning up their long beach location and it was good seeing esther who with the cut and color made me look 10 years younger..at least it made me feel younger..good news bad news..the haircuts are now $12 from $15 but the coloring increased by about 50%..still less expensive than most and esther gives good quality service read more

The worst haircut in my life. Asked for a trim and to maintain the style I came in with. I had an asymmetrical cut, short in the back which gradually gets longer in the front. The stylist started from the front cutting it so short that she could no longer maintain the style I came in with because now the front and back were the same length. Now I look like someone put a bowl on my head. When I asked what happened to my style she said she cut the front too short and attempted to correct it by cutting the back even shorter but it was too late the damage was already done. Than she told me the next time I come back to remind her to only cut the back not the front so she can even it out to get back to my style. Does she really think I would ever allow her to come near me with scissor again? As soon as it grows out I need to go somewhere else to get it fixed. If you want a style other than a buzz cut go somewhere else. read more
