I work in DTLA. This has now been rebadged to a Sinclair station. Great if you're willing to risk your life in skid row for cheap gas. There were homeless wandering around the streets everywhere & encampments all over. Lots of sketchy shady characters around, the pump couldn't fuel up my tank fast enough I wanted to be in my car & out of here. I definitely wouldn't go to this area at night. Unless I was on empty I'd rather drive further & pay more in a safer neighborhood. read more

Guy wandering around the station heads straight for us before we peeled out and then pretends to do something at the pump but then kept wandering around as we u-turned. Spectacularly unhelpful staff. My car suddenly had engine problems. I limped into the gas station lot to get the car out of danger of the busy street is on. I called AAA to have it towed. Then went to the station staff to let them know what is going on. That staff immediately demanded I push the car out on the busy street and threaten to tow the car themselves if I didn't. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Pulled in to get gas and the place was packed (also for truckers). They have credit card machines, but after inserting said "See Attendant". Place is disgusting. Attendant is behind 15 feet of glass, and wearing surgical gloves! Terrible service and would not let me just "fill up" had to tell her how much. If you have credit card capabilities, why in the hell would you make your customers deal with surly service, from someone who has no interest in leaving her bulletproof cocoon? Since this gas station is close by my car rental place, I always come here to fill up my gas before returning my rental car. It's a convenient location, and their gas is so cheap! This morning, I got $2.59 per gallon - paid by cash. They add a transaction fee if you pay by credit card. It gets busy in the afternoon. There's lots of traffic on Alameda Street. I am definitely coming back again to fill up the gas for my rental car! read more

This is my closest gas station and I've been using it for the past year since I moved to the Arts District. In the same period, my debit card has been ripped off FIVE TIMES. After the most recent instance, I've heard from several neighbors that they've had the same problem and all suspect that the theft is occurring at our sketchy neighborhood Valero. One even said it happened after paying INSIDE as opposed to at the pump, which is universally recommended by fraud prevention departments at banks. DO NOT USE A CARD AT THIS PLACE AND DO NOT USE THEIR ATM (which rarely works anyway) Additionally: The place is absolutely filthy, the employees are obnoxious and rude, and there are zombified skid-row vagrants menacing the premises virtually at all times. The level of service I receive here is consistently superior, and given the area they do a great job, um, dealing with the elements. They did have one security guard who thought he was f'n Rambo but thankfully he no longer works there. I do most of my business there at night time during the week, and the employee named Luis I believe does a fantastic job of holding things down and efficiently handles customer traffic in and out of the store. Definitely top-notch service and they're open 24/7 which is a plus. Great staff, great service, large selection for a small store, plus they sell all sorts of beers, domestic and imports. Fuel up then FUEL UP, good times. And it's in the Arts District which is a cozy little pocket of DTLA, away from the riff-raff and crowds. Keep up the great work guys. read more

Upcharges per gallon for credit card payment. In a sketch part of industrial LA but my car was on vapor so not a lot of choice. Hard to get in/out of with any kind of traffic running. pavement is all full of potholes etc. Came during the day - would NOT come here after dark. Came here cuz running on fumes. A dive of a gas station. Paid $15 cash to get cheapest price $3.13 per gal. Sat in car and locked my doors as I waited for gas to fill. It clicked off pretty quickly. As I was pulling the nozzle out, I noticed the gas stopped pumping at around $13. That was real suspicious! I then proceeded to pump the gas further and made sure I got every drop! Now, I never find myself having to do that at other gas stations. You usually find that the gas slows down till you get to the full amount you paid and then clicks off. I have no doubt this gas station has gained money from those customers who don't check the pump meter when they remove the nozzle after is clicks off. Who would think u need to, right? I would hope it is just bad pumps and not plain right DISHONESTY! read more
