Curtains are black out and a/c works well and isn't too loud. There is shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and a makeup cloth and hair dryer. The not so great: decor is dated but I don't mind such things, The biggest "ding" is that there is no elevator. The hotel is only two levels but if you have a lot of luggage or you're disabled, it could be a big problem. My main complaint: the bed mattress is/eas horrible. Squishy but not soft and not firm. I can't explain but it was not a comfortable bed. Pillows are fine. The breakfast is OK. It's probably about the same as some other higher end hotels. Nothing else special to eat after breakfast. You're limited to Subway or PizzaHut for later. Having said that, this is a small town in Kansas at least an hour from larger towns. There are only three hotels. This is probably your best shot

I asked and was told that Weaver Hotel was the best so I headed back to where I parked and went in the door which led to a gift area. I purposely left my boots unzipped. As I stood there and waited for someone to notice me I looked around. The dining room was empty except one table with two gentleman talking quietly. When an employee finally noticed me I was asked if I was here for takeout and then as I answered the person that asked walked away into a noisy kitchen shouting "hold on I can't hear you". When I told her I wanted to eat, she passed me off to another employee who then assumed I was there for the takeout and commenced ringing me up for it. I then told her again that k wanted to sit and eat and asked if that was possible. She said yes and pointed to another employee whom she said was the cook. She told the cook that I wanted to eat, to which the cook replied "ok", didn't look up at me, and walked right past me. As she walked away, she shouted over her shoulder "what do you want?" I said I'd take the lunch special and she walked away. I stood there and said "do I just sit anywhere?" Yes, was the response. I was then brought my food, never checked on again, never asked where I was from or how I was, nothing. I guess small town hospitality or just manners and kindness in general isn't a thing here. Not saying everyone isn't probably a good person at heart and means well. Just optically, it looks really bad- like you judged me and didn't want me there. I truly felt uncomfortable the whole time and I don't recommend unless you fit the type of person they're used to, evidentially. And I'm 6'4 and white! Maybe just take a look at how you treat strangers that are nothing but polite and kind. Food was really good and fast though to be fair. Oh, and then as I waited to pay, my waitress walks by and says "oh and you can't tip after paying with a card". Lmao. So I tipped $10 and said have a great day to which one of them replied "yep". Perfect.

My mushroom & broccoli risotto was creamy and delicious. My steak was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I asked about how the chef made the Czech dumplings and he came out of the kitchen and shared how he boiled down the potatoes himself! I could have had just the salad bar with it's spinach and raspberries, cheeses and veggies, but I didn't want to miss out on the prepared to order fine dining. Even my friends burger looked fat and delicious. I most certainly will return as I still must try the Ruben, their ever changing Sunday brunch & then one of the official Czech meals. Also you can buy a few drinks and food items right at the front desk, prices are reasonable. In addition the location is very close to Walmart on the north side of town coming in from Lincoln. The hotel has easy access to a large parking lot that is well lit at night. You get what you pay for and in this case a great location, with reasonable room prices for this nice clean hotel with a great staff! Great kitchenette, full size refrigerator, nice bathroom, large room for a double queen. The rooms are not worn! Read the reviews for all the hotels in Beatrice! The only breakfast at My Place is an order to your room, we never tried the breakfast. Instead, we went to Scooters Coffee Shop or Walmart during our stay. It is not worth saving a few bucks for a hotel with a breakfast, that is as subpar as their rooms and service! Farther south into town there are substandard rooms available that do not meet minimum standard for service or cleanliness in the hotel common areas, rooms, and breakfast! Read the reviews if you go for a cheaper option just rent one day, you will see what I mean. Believe me My Place has got them beat at a reasonable price for just a few dollars more, worth it!
