It can get crowded, I was lucky enough to witness a cool flamenco festival the day I visited the area so having a lot of people around wasn't an issue, it made the place more fun and memorable. Also, regular traffic - cars, etc couldn't pass, it was a road closure for the event, so it was great, very pedestrian friendly. Plaza de Espana is a cool spot in Ronda, on the newer side (even if this area is far from being new, still full of history), you can see the cool cliffs from here, outstanding views. It takes your breath away!

Tour the town as well, the oldest bull fighting arena is located here. Buy a few bottle of wines, drink it along the way or enjoy it in the park.

Five bosky avenues (alameda in Spanish) represent a selection of mature trees typical in ornamental gardening in the Málaga province, notably the Himalayan cedar and acacia pine, as well as more commonplace pines and, around its fountains, pergolas twined with roses. The word alameda refers specifically to a grove of poplar trees, but it has become attached to any tree-lined avenue or boulevard. This particular Alameda was opened to the public in 1806. Even in the age of remote working and video streaming, the evening "paseo" is still a surprisingly strong tradition in Spain. Whole families take to the streets for a long, leisurely stroll during which they pass the time in idle chat with friends and neighbors, or merely walk from A to B and back again for the sake of the exercise and the reviving joys of the cool evening air. The alameda is the inevitable hub of the paseo in Ronda. We saw many people doing that during our nice relaxing time at the Alameda.

One of the most beautiful swimming pools I have seen; and, you must ask about its excavation....what a story. Simple breakfast and wonderful conversations with Sasha, who is very interested and knowledgeable about the US and traveling via RV. Overall, a delightful place and be sure to love on the tan colored dog; he takes all the affection you can give him.

Probably one of the best things we did in Spain. It was so much fun. The buggies were so cool…read more They went fast and were like driving go carts but not on a boring track. The buggy would go like 60mph. We went off roadijg and climbed the mountain. On top of the mountain, we had a beautiful view of Ronda. We saw sheep walking around. We loved the off roading. We then went down to the bottom of the crevice and had a nice view of the new bridge in Ronda. We then went to a really nice hostel and had some good coffee. It was nice chilling after all the driving in the cold. The hostel had these super cute cats who were father and daughter. It was so cute watching them hang out together. We went back and then our super cool guide gave us some sick swag. We got these cool baklavas and a sick baseball cap. The cap was so awesome that I wanted to wear it all the time. The guide was awesome and took our photos in really cool places as we were driving. The whole experience was amazing! We were so glad we did the extended tour. The owner Eddie was so nice and drove us back to our hotel so we did not need to cab it back!! Such an awesome experience!!

Typical plaza in Spain, beautiful architecture, a nice cathedral around (Iglesia del Socorro), a…read morephotogenic fountain in the middle of it (with the sculpture of Hercules and the 2 lions), nice colors, many outdoor restaurants around, great walking area in the middle of downtown Ronda. It is significant of the area's history and independence, the monument is dedicated to Blas Infante. Your typical Andalusian slice of heaven, with great details all over, perfect to explore on a sunny day. Next to Puente Nuevo, so make sure you won't miss it.

Plaza del Socorro is named for the abutting church, Iglesia del Socorro. This square is located in…read morethe "new" part of Ronda (the side to the north of the tajo/ravine). Plaza del Socorro hosts a fountain with sculptures of Herculese and two lions (after images representing Andalucia, established by Blas Infante), as well as a statue of Blas Infante himself, the "father of Andalicia." This square is historically significant because during the 1913 Assembly of Ronda, Blas Infante, politicking for Andalusian nationalism, waved the flag of Andalusia from the balcony of Circulo de Artistas, a building on this square. Infante led the movement to get Andalusia recognized as a national community, and won the Andalusian parliament a lot more autonomy than most regions of Spain. Infante was later executed by Franco, but is seen as a national hero, and is especially esteemed by Andalusians. We noticed a lot of Spanish tourists flocking to this square, due to its historical significance in Spanish history. Because we were there only days before Carnival, it was an especially busy time for crowds of Spanish visitors in Ronda. This square gets a lot of great sunlight, and has various places to sit. There is a parking garage under the square. Many good restaurants along its perimeter. At night, it is beautifully lit, and a fun place to relax.
