CUSTOMER SERVICE: - This is VERY important when it comes to hotels. I expect to be taken care of to their capability with whatever needs the guests have. - Well, here is my experience & first impression here: We finally arrive at the hotel after a ~2hr drive looking forward to checking in & resting a bit in our rooms. There was no clear sign to the parking lot and the (tiny) front of the hotel seemed to be crowded with other cars. I told my dad I'll run in to ask where the parking lot is. While I went inside to seek help, our car was on standby on a street. The front desk (2 ppl helping) was quite busy helping guests check in. When I saw a pause, I tried to jump in to ask ONE SIMPLE QUESTION about parking. She didn't even bother to look at me and I know she heard me say "excuse me" about 3 times. The guests that were being helped felt sorry for me looking super desperate and tried to get her attention FOR me - how nice of them! But they had a conversation in Spanish that I didn't understand. But from body language I can tell that she was saying that she is going to give them her full attention at the moment. And then again, doesn't even look or recognize me being there at all treating me like a nobody. What in the world??? Like sure, you should give them your full service then, but you can't even tell me that? She could've at least let me know "I'm sorry, I will be right with you after I help these guests." AM I CRAZY? How can she KNOW that I am there and just straight up ignore me? WTF Never have I been treated this way at a 4-star hotel. - She disappeared after helping them so I approached the other desk who answered my question. I hate being humiliated (perhaps for my gender, age, race) so I was still shaking. I told him about my frustration and he apologized for her but I needed to hear it from her. I saw him to talk to his manager about my situation but she did NOTHING. ROOMS: - Feels like a cabin with old wooden furnitures... ew - Apparently hotel view is all up to your luck. You get the bridge view or not. Of course we got the unlucky view because they just hate me for some reason the moment I walked in lol great - Bathrooms are pretty nice with full amenities BREAKFAST: - Complimentary breakfast was included and this added to my list of disappointments here - Coffee was super watered down - Nothing served to your order; all buffet style (not fresh) - Best thing I had this morning was the orange juice ETC: - Parking costs about 8€ - Anyone can come see the bridge from the side of the hotel through a walkway around it - Prime location close to the bridge and all the shops/restaurants - Hotel charges € per phone use I blame myself for setting my expectations too high for this 4-star hotel. I would NOT RECOMMEND staying here for anyone else. As mentioned earlier, the walkway next to the hotel to see the bridge is open to EVERYONE. Simply no need to stay at this specific hotel for its price. Nothing exceptional here whether its the rooms, service, or food - so ask yourselves, why?!

The room does not have much in the way of amenities except for a TV, safe and toiletries in the bathroom. A small breakfast composed of juice, coffee and toast was included in the room rate. There was only one person working the front desk so service was slow and spotty. Parking is offsite at a parking garage close by and it costs 15.5€ per day.

A beautiful drive out here prepares you for magnificent welcome among warm people and gorgeous surroundings. Two yoga shalas to practice or take a TT. One domed spacious studio overlooking the vast countryside is an amazing point for your 7am suryanamaskar literally greeting the sun. (There is an outdoor area to enjoy the most splendid sunsets.) Yoga, healthy eats, meditation, hiking, riding, just being out and about in this area is exhilarating and brings a smile to my heart. So grateful to have discovered this small haven of peacefulness by the hand of my daughter.

We were only able to stay one night and by the end we wished we booked longer (Ronda and this hotel are amazing). It is in a great location. The back side of the hotel bumps up against the valley and the front has great views of Ronda. The place is quirky. The registration desk is an old Seat car. There are random sitting areas all throughout the place and words cannot describe them. There are a couple of outdoor seating areas and a fun pool. The photos on the website do a better job. The room was comfortable and provided what we needed. The self serve bar was open all day and night. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Spain. Enfrente is not a plush, party hotel. You need a sense of adventure and an open mind, but it is worth it.

The room rates are very reasonable considering the outstanding free breakfast and 24/7 access to complimentary beer, wine, espresso and soft drinks. Given its location if you have a car you will be parking in the newer part of town in the parking garage and either hiking up hill 15+ minutes with your luggage or taking a taxi. We took a taxi. The streets are crazy narrow even for the professionals. We arrived early and were able to check-in. The woman at the front desk was delightful and super helpful (she also checked us out and ordered us a taxi). Fortunately I booked a superior room and it had a stupendous view of the valley below. The hotel is right on the edge of the cliff. The hotel is an old palace so it has its quirks but the room was big and the balcony huge. There was a safe and a small frig and tea kettle. The price was pretty good but it was off season. Not a big deal given the room we had and it was the weekend but the main square of town right outside the front door is in the midst of major construction so it could be loud on weekdays depending on the room. This project looks like it has a long way to go... Thumbs up.

Breakfast, which costs ~30 eur/two people was good, and includes fruits, meats, tea, and coffee, but it was by far the most expensive meal we had in Arcos de la Frontera. I'd recommend having breakfast only once, so you can enjoy the view from the restaurant windows of the valley below.

The 4th Floor bar has a lovely view over the bull ring. The breakfast was amazing. Anything you wanted, it was there. There were vegan cheeses, vegan milks, gluten free, lactose free..... We…read morerealized that a passing-through stop (an afternoon in Ronda, and leaving the next morning) meant we would use the room only for sleep, when our eyes would not be looking at a view. So it was a no-brainer to find something clean and comfortable, and nada mas. The ravine-front hotels all have restaurants, so you can always dine there for your view of the Tajo. Anyway, I was very glad I chose Hotel Polo. Hotel Polo is in a cool old building with very high ceilings, and spacious rooms, especially by Euro standards. We had a full tub and a balcony, which were great! Each room has a different blown-up image of a watercolor painting of a landmark in the area, as well as a framed blurb about different landmarks, outside each guest room door. This was a neat touch. Free Wifi with strong connection!!! The attendant at reception was really friendly and helpful. He provided us with a map of Ronda, and went into major detail to point out all the main sites, and added suggestions for local tips, such as a special place by the old bridge, where you can enter the INTERIOR of the city walls, and walk a good length of the wall from the inside. I had researched Ronda like crazy and never heard of that. Super-cool tips! It was a little frustrating that the website explained parking, directing you to a garage in such a way as to sound like it would be either free or validated, but no such offer exists. Be aware that they will happily direct you to a parking garage where you pay the given fee (no price reduction), or you can drive around and try your luck at free street parking. There is a cafe type restaurant just off of the lobby, where they offer breakfast. As is my habit, we made use of a nearby grocery store for continental breakfast, exactly as I like it. Okay, so if you want a view of Puente Nuevo and el Tajo, you want Casa Palacio Villazambra ($273*), Hotel Montelirio ($150*), Hotel Don Miguel ($75*), or el Parador ($174*), in order of reviewed-quality, worst mentioned last. These are rates for rooms SPECIFIED to have a ravine view; make sure your booking selection states "view of Tajo" (not "city view") because the Tajo is normally twice the price. IMO, Don Miguel is best-priced for what you get, but it was completely booked while we were in Ronda. Villazambra is the most luxe, and Montelirio is pseudo-luxe. (*Feb, 2018 rates) Also looked at hotels more in the city center. Hotel San Gabriel is where Rick Steves stays, but it too was totally booked for our dates. Hotel el Poeta looked nice, but apart from beautiful decor, it had no view. If I am not going to get my view, I am not going to pay just a little less because of the interior, I am going to pay a lot less and stay somewhere that I use for sleeping and bathing. The bottom line for us was thumbs up for Hotel Polo. Clean, cheerful rooms, pleasant aesthetics, and really friendly staff. They were located in a quiet enough area, but super close to all the action. We were very pleased with what they had to offer!
