If only I could give 1 star! I used realtor Staci Uhey. I own a floating home in Ridgefield that I…read morewas selling. Staci encouraged me to "carry a contract" for a buyer. She convinced me by saying that "many owners do this in hopes the person doesn't cash out per the contract then ownership stays with the seller after receiving interest only payments for the contract time set". I was open to this as long as I remained owner until the buyer paid in full. One day before closing, I learned that the buyer was going to be recorded as owner after just the down payment was received. Imagine my shock when I was told by the escrow company, that they would indeed be recording the buyer as the new owner. When asked what paperwork I had to protect me, I was told there was none. I was going to be left with a promissory note and a prayer. She did nothing to protect me. She was a "dual" agent for me and the buyer. Once she became an agent for the buyer, she no longer had my best interest at heart. She completely bullied me into paying for things the buyer was requesting adding up to over $4000.00. (I am still waiting for the final costs). She lied to me several times when I asked about how the process worked for carrying the contract. She told me that I would remain owner. She knew that I would not remain as owner and she was going to let me close without disclosing that information. Even when asked directly, she would never give me a straight answer. I had to do the research myself and figure out what to do. The entire reason for hiring an agent is so I have someone I can trust to lead me during the is process. As a professional myself, I do not have time to learn everything about real estate. I trusted her and she blatantly lied to me. I ended up having to negotiate and fight for what was right for me with the one person who was supposed to have my back. And to think, I was going to pay her for this. To top it all off, I offered the buyer to rent my home until he could cash out, as per our agreement. The house would stay in my name until he could pay in full. He declined. Same terms as the contract with the exception of me remaining owner. Leads me to believe he knew that once he was recorded as owner, I would have very little recourse. Agents should not be allowed to be represent both seller and buyer. I almost lost my house thanks to Staci. Once I let Reality Pro know what Staci had done, I never got any apology. Nothing. I had to actually block Staci, who continued (after I told her I would not sign my house over without full payment) to fight for the buyer. "He is a single dad", "he has had some issues and really needs this deal". Ya, to steal my house. I am traumatized over this entire experience. My house is off the market, and I will never trust another real estate agent again.
