Susanna pinned a dress and said she'd have it taken in on a Thursday, 2 weeks later. I paid $120 for taking in the top of a $120 dress for a wedding. Went to pick it up. It wasn't even started. Luckily, I'm a planner so told her I needed it a day before I actually did. She said she'd do it overnight. I went in the morning and put it on. Pretty sure she did nothing to it. Nothing at all. For $120. I had to wear a work dress to a semi-formal wedding. End of the world? No. But I was quite aware that I was the only one who looked like she was going to work. Never will use Susanna again. read more

When I first walked in to Susanna's I was weary of how things would be as the shop wasn't anything nice and she can be somewhat abrupt. It cost me $80 to have a dress altered that only cost me $40 (on sale). She requires that you pay up front but she accepts cards, cash and check (cash preferred of course). I'm not sure if this is standard pricing as I don't have clothes altered very often. It only took her a week to get the dress done. She was on time and it fit perfectly and you couldn't tell she had even touched it. Pricey - but perfect! I would definitely trust Susanna to alter my clothing again. read more

My puppy used a brand new Vera Bradley handbag as a chew toy so I brought it to Susanna's for repair. I paid - up front - a reasonable $35 to replace the zipper and repair one of the handles. I was told the bag would be ready the following Wednesday, a week after I dropped it off. After a busy week, I didn't make it back to the shop until Saturday morning. It wasn't done. The job wasn't even started and this was four days after it was supposed to have been finished. I received an immediate refund and have vowed never, ever to step foot in such an unprofessional, disreputable business again. Stay away. read more

I've taken a wide variety of items to Susanna and the results always amaze me. From sewing up the button seam of a designer shirt dress, to replacing a zipper on a stretchy sweater dress, or installing an invisible bustle on my wedding dress, the result of Susanna's work is that it looks like the garment hasn't had any work at all. Here are some of her best qualities. She is almost obsessive about finding color matches for thread and zippers. She takes on almost impossible jobs, quotes a price, and then stands by it even if it takes her double the hours she estimated for herself to complete it. (I don't mean return it late.) She will never give back a garment unless she is 100% satisfied with the work. All of my alterations were a week to finish with the exception on my wedding dress. Nancy is clearly a miserable person who loves blasting hard working mom and pop business owners on yelp.. I have had 2 suit jackets tailored by Susanna and my third one is with her right now I was supposed to pick it up last week but haven't had the time I am going tomorrow. As for the 2 jackets I have picked up from her work is top of the line A+ work... done on time very fair price she is very kind and makes sure the jacket is to my liking does not cut corners when fitting and sizing my jacket. to Nancy, maybe she is doing so many wedding dresses and other important time sensitive alterations that your zipper to your handbag was inadvertently overlooked. if she gave you an immediate refund why would you blast her on yelp ??? That's a pretty nasty thing to do specially because it doesn't speak to the quality of her work... have you ever been busy with your work load and mistakenly overlooked getting something small completed on time ?? read more

After reading good reviews online I brought my wedding dress to Susanna's to be altered. Despite bringing the dress in two months before my wedding, she did not begin working on it until two weeks prior. When I arrived for my first fitting she had not even touched my dress. She completely lacked in the communication department, often my visits for pre-scheduled fittings were entirely unnecessary as she had not completed any new work on my dress since my last fitting. She complained about the work that she had to do on my dress and talked about how annoying of a process the alterations would be, yet showed me how she had made a size 2 dress fit a size 14 woman. My alternations were nowhere near that extreme and fairly basic in comparison to projects she shared with me. Despite my best efforts, I was still in her shop after 9pm the night before I was to leave town for my wedding, as she sewed feverishly to finish. (Hours after her store had closed and a week after my dress was scheduled to be finished.) I was incredibly polite during the entire process and she thanked me multiple times for my patience but it was by far the most difficult experience in my wedding planning process. My dress was still missing stones on the waist belt the day I was married, due to her inability to finish my dress on time. Moving forward I would not recommend Susanna and am entirely disappointed with my experience working with her. read more

Susanna altered my Mother's dress for my wedding as well as my wedding dress. Both dresses fit great and didn't appear to be altered at all. Her prices were quite reasonable. Susanna works very hard on her alterations, and I feel really knows what she's doing. She met all my deadlines early and was quite a fun lady to talk to (especially about her adorable Pomeranians). I have a very nice dress that was ripped in the bottom and therefore I could never wear it again. I brought it to Susanna and asked her to do something as long as I could wear it again since I have lost hope on that ripped dress. Susanna fixxed my dress and it looks just like it is never broken.
