Kamikaze roll, spicy salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll
    Emma W.

Based on the good reviews on Yelp, I decided to give this place a try when I was in New Minas. The hostess greeted me at the door, and patiently answered all my questions. I was there for lunch, and they have 3 lunch specials, 2 rolls for $8, 3 rolls for $11, and AYCE for $15. A pretty Korean girl took my order, she was pretty as a rose, and nice as can be. I ordered 3 maki, and the rice was warm. Mmm, I love warm rice in my sushi. The 3 maki were great. Then I decided to go for it, and become AYCE. I enjoyed the next 3 rolls and sushi pizza just as much. The kamikaze was one of my favourite rolls. For dessert, I had a half order of mango ice cream with a fried banana dipped in honey and sesame. The place was busy enough at lunch hour, but I never felt rushed. The staff was great. The restaurant is well kept, and I really like the sink in the ladies room. I look forward to returning here for more sushi, and to see the Korean rose again.

Does "increase" and "increse" mean the same thing? Please advise.

It's sushi-fang-tastic. Highlight of my time in New Minas - MORE LIKE NEW PLUS!!!! Best sushi/Thai in town - FOR SURE. Impressed to see warning on menu about dangers of eating raw fish. Really appreciated how thoughtful it was to warn customers. Most places don't think to really care good for health concerns like poisoning from restaurant's food. I didn't get too sick, so all is well that ends well, right? :) Great decor. I'm often tempted to steal furnishing, but had no such urges and conflicting emotions at Sushi Fang on account of the decor being literally glued down (see pictures). Thank you for making this a peaceful and discernibly less criminal dining experience, Sushi Fang. Staff was attentive and really attractive. 5 stars... in bed. Women's bathroom was an enchanting lilac hue. Mens bathroom was a wading pool with zen-like trickle-sound of leaking urinal. "Enlightening" experience, navigable "waters". Parking lot a romantic setting. Well lit. Felt safe. Would definitely do business in the parking lot again. 5 stars. Ordered VEGi Dragon Roll, but it didn't contain broccoli or dragons as promised. Waiter was nice about it tho and brought one made properly when requested. FYI, BYOB definitely not allowed I found out ASAP. Loved the local flair with the famous New Minas roll and Acadia roll. HOME TOWN PRIDE. They DON'T MAKE IT LIKE THAT IN HALIFAX!!!!! GO AXEMEN!!! See photos for more observations. Overall, I'd absolutely go back. Enriching experience, for sure. High marks for effort, even if food was disappointing. "The next generation of taste" truly "is here." I LOVE SushiFang07@gmail.com / SushiFang.ca/converse

I called at different times they were open on two different days. No answer. We were able to get a table and hostess was extremely friendly. She even brought me a free miso soup as my husband got one with his sushi order. He said sushi was the best he ever has had. My udon soup was not so good. Three soggy, skinny shrimp tempura on top of a huge bowl of noodles and broth (expensive, too). Nothing else in the soup but some onion slices. Was not great. Why put fried tempura shrimp in a soup? They were so soggy they did not taste good. They did bring my husband a dessert on the house with a sparkler in it. They were all incredibly friendly. Will go again, but won't have udon soup.

We had the jeyuk bokkeum, which was a very generous sized portion and really flavorful grilled pork with super fresh romaine leaves, chili paste and a kimchi ban chan, and shrimp udon soup, with springy udon noodles, yummy soup base and delish shrimp tempura. The other dishes being ordered around us, like the jajangmyeon, looked fabulous also. The restaurant was warm and welcoming on a damp, chilly night and the staff was super friendly and welcoming.

The sushi is always amazing, I recommend the salmon maki and the tuna, so fresh and tasty. Our server was very friendly and we had a nice conversation! However; my last three orders from them have been terrible and costly. The first time, I ordered the king crab, which was markedly more expensive and received imitation. I ordered tuna belly and they asked to replace it with tuna with no compensation for the difference in cost after I agreed. I swept this under the rug. The next order; as an appetizer I ordered softshell crab appetizer, they sent the roll, again I swept it under the rug. This third order was the straw that broke the camels back: I'm done. My order compared to what I got, is in in the pictures. Ordered spicy salmon roll - got Tuna Maki. Ordered Negi-Hamachi (suppose to be yellow tail and green onion), got a salmon roll. Not maki with avocado or even tempura bits; just rice and salmon. Vast cost difference. I got the Alaskan roll I ordered, but that is mine and the other two are my kids rolls, so I clearly won't eat in front of them. I'm done. Something is seriously wrong there and at this point it's a waste of money.

A great little Asian café located in Downtown Sackville!…read more Song's Chopsticks is a casual Asian eatery serving up a very streamlined menu of Korean and Thai dishes and sushi (Saturdays only) too! They took over the former Dancing Dogs Café space. The food offerings served her include Bibimbap, Japchae, Bulgogi, Song's Spicy Pork, cutlets (chicken & pork), Korean Crispy Wings, Fried Rice, soups (tomyum noodle, chicken noodle), Veggie Spring Rolls, Dumplings, Kimchi, Shrimp Tempura, and Sushi Rolls (Saturday only or advance notice). They also offer homemade ginger tea here. Lunch is $9.95 and dinner is $9.95-$16.50, plus HST. The dining room is cozy, which has several wooden tables and chairs for eating in. I stopped in at Song's Chopsticks for lunch takeout and ordered the lunch special combo ($9.95 plus HST), choices of Steamed Rice or Japchae, Song's Spicy Pork or Bulgogi, and Spring Roll or Dumpling, which I chose the second choice each of the 3 items. The food was hot and ready to go in under 10 minutes. The portion size was good, packed into a rectangular Styrofoam box. The Bulgogi had great flavors consisting of thin sliced marinated sirloin beef & vegetables (carrots, onion, cabbage, green peppers) sprinkled with sesame seeds. The Japchae noodles (clear sweet potato noodles) were cooked firm. The 2 fried dumplings were crispy outside filled with chicken. The food I had was overall very tasty and a good value for lunch, $11.25 total. I would eat here again! FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/songschopsticks/
