Sterile. It's a word with a positive connotation as far as sushi places are concerned. However, this chain embodies it in more ways than just food cleanliness.
First, let me just say that the decor is stylish and modern. The lobby, bathroom, and what you can see of the kitchen looks clean.
There is American top 40 playing inside. At this location, you sit outside on an unstable table on slanted pavement. The glossy menu has beautiful pictures with awesome looking sashimi spreads and other mouth watering creations.
When the rolls arrived though, they left much to be desired. They are small compared to most rolls I've had in the states. The prices are steep too, which seems disproportionate to the serving size you get.
The rice was bland, dry and too sticky. It was not quality sushi rice and not made properly. The fish and fillings were decent but nothing spectacular.
The soy sauce was in tiny single serving bottles. The gari and "wasabi" were served in little plastic packages like they had been made in a factory somewhere far away. The gari looked downright sad and disgusting. I imagine they don't make much fresh from scratch.
