Once upon a time I would have given this place five stars, but Go Believe is gone now, only to be replaced by Sushi Today. I was a regular patron of Go Believe, and once they went under new management, thereby becoming Sushi Today, I was wary what their food would be like. Little did I know that would be the least of my worries. They kept the same affordable price with AYCE lunch being $12.99 while dinner was $18.99, a couple dollars above the original price, but if that was the only change, I stayed hopeful.
My problem, and the main reason of the two star rating, is the terrible staff and service.
During busy times, they are incredibly slow. I realize busy times warrant slower service, but waiting an hour for two rolls doesn't make sense to me. They were able to bring out the fried foods for my and every other table without a problem, but it seemed like their sushi chefs were severely behind on the actual reason of your dining and that's to eat sushi. I watched people walk out after waiting so long just for a table and even longer for drinks. Even when they were finally getting the sushi underway, numerous orders received the wrong roll.
One particular waitress is always snappy, be it busy environment or not. She is usually there whenever I've gone, so I'm led to believe she's one of the lead wait staff, but why is beyond me. Her attitude borders on rude and adds tension to an already exhausting environment. I'm in customer service, and I'm not a firm believer in the phrase "the customer is always right" but being in customer service means that even if you're having a bad day or your work is not fulfilling, you make it a good experience for the customers regardless.
Even with the new management I still go there, but word to the wise, if they're not near empty when you arrive, don't bother going. read more
