Had a great first service here. Sushila's is right down the street and I pass it all the time. I've never been someone who gets their eyebrows regularly waxed or threaded, so this was my first threading experience. I have naturally thick eyebrows and was about to go on vacation and decided I needed some help taming them. I made my appointment online through Yelp. I highly recommend you make an appointment because I saw several people try to walk in and then had to wait. I don't think their wait was very long but it was super busy on a Friday afternoon. My technician was great. She was very efficient and shaped my eyebrows perfectly. They were more symmetrical on my face and just complimented my features better. My eyes appeared more open too. After getting the facial done , my skin is getting dry and having acne.. for sure the treatment you did was not need and my skin is reacting badly!! I went for facial and I WAS NOT SATISFIED! I booked an appointment for oxygen facial ($75), but while paying they were charging $150 with the reason " we did Oxy-cyro " facial!! when I said I booked 75$ one, she was like - prices are it updated online! Wth! I am like who asked to you the upgrade from oxygen to oxy-cyro!! How can you do "oxy cyro that too without asking the customer!!! The 1 hr facial was NOT worth paying even 75 bucks. Even though I booked the service with the person I wanted to have facial with, she was not available!! Sushila started doing facial ( it was good) , but in between she switched with and other lady started doing my facial. Other lady DID NOT EVEN MASSAGE MY FACE PROPERLY, DID NOT DO NECK MASSAGE!! I have heard that Sushila's is the place to go for eyebrow threading, I have never had my eyebrows threaded (I'm kinda scared to do it ,so it's a pass for me) but I will say Tons ,I mean tons of ladies were coming in there to get their eyebrows done!! I was shocked on this random tues at 2 in the afternoon it was one after the next all eyebrows threading......so yea I think they are really good at what they do! No I was the one weird one in there for a henna tattoo!!! A tattoo that is free-hand drawn onto your skin and lasts for a few days. It is made from crushed up leaves and stems of a henna plant, it's all natural and leaves a maroon colored tattoo on your skin. They have a book of tattoos you can pick from and the prices are listed next to the picture, and they are really reasonable starting at $3, average price maybe $8/10. Me and my two lil ones each picked a design we liked and the artist started away, she had all 3 of us finished in probably 30 minutes. It looked soooooo cool!! We all loved our design and were so happy with finish product. The price came out to $20 and we walked away with our hand drawn masterpieces! I did notice they have henna paste already made and available for purchase if you wanted to try doing your own henna, maybe next time! read more

So my co-workers tried to scare me off from threading. They told me about how painful it is, that waxing hurt less, etc. Undaunted by their warnings, I made an appointment to have my eyebrows threaded for the first time. I arrived at 11am when the shop opened. This was a random Thursday and the number of ladies there for threading was comical. It's definitely their main business. I've heard most people request Sushila personally but I didn't have a preference so I was assigned to Manisha. Now, let me tell you about my brows. I don't have thick brows. They're naturally a good shape so when people asked me who does my brows, I usually answer God which promptly makes them kick me. But I have those little stray hairs underneath and at the ends that I try to clean up with tweezers. I told Manisha I like the shape, don't want them thinner, just clean it up a bit. She started with a quick snip of scissors and then the threading started. My eyes watered a little bit it felt more like a light sting than legitimate pain. She cleaned up all the fine stray hairs and left me with my same brows, just a better, more defined version of them. I was there for about 10 minutes and it cost me $10 plus tip. I asked Manisha to write her name down on a card so I could request her in the future. I'm a big fan and plan to keep having my brows threaded. I also plan to add in the lip which is only $4. Eyebrows on Fleek, no need for YouTube tutorials today! (Side Note: seriously "fleek" is one of the stupidest words of this generation) SOOOO I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time in Jacksonville yesterday. I naturally have thin brow - so I hold onto every last hair as much as possible. It doesn't take much to turn them into anorexic Nike signs. I had been applying Black Castor oil at night to grow them in fuller. It had been close to a full month of not waxing. I was in need for a shape up, but I didn't want to be forced back into bangs. Trusted Yelpers wrote so many great reviews about this place I had to try it out. And, "Woohoo! (This place is) as good as it gets!" She starts with brushing my brow and giving it a quick trim. She pulls the string out of no where and starts going away. I felt every other hair being pulled. No lie I started a little twitch and tears started to flow. She finished one eye and handed me the mirror like a G. Hell Yes - YES do that to the other one. I look back at myself in the mirror - my face looks brighter. I released tension in my back and was able to just relax and let her do the other brow. Thankfully she didn't use tweezers. She just kept using the string and that worked just fine for me after the first few pulls. Then applies some type of lotion to the brows. The area around my eye was red. No sure if it was the sting or the lotion. But it went away after 30 minutes (probably even less) and the eyebrows still gorgeous. At most I was there 10 minutes. Including the short wait in the waiting area. The place is so quiet. Love it! Beautiful location, tucked away inside a plaza. Treat yourself to a boba tea afterwards. Clean facility, pleasant & skilled service, and inexpensive. Love it! read more

I have been threading my eyebrows and upper lip since I was young and I can honestly say nobody has shaped them the way Sushila does. It really is an art and she did it in a quick, painless way! She was welcoming and even the other ladies there have done an excellent job with reshaping my eyebrows. It was also very clean inside, everybody wears masks and they sanitize their hands before they start threading. The eyebrow threading is fantastic. I've been going here for a few years. One of the best things is their hours. Open till 8pm, though closed on Monday's. But that means that they're open on both Saturday AND Sunday which comes in handy. I came back to Jax from a trip on a Saturday night and then going off to another trip on Monday, so I could get my eyebrows threaded Sunday but I was irritated that I could not get a pedicure since most of those places seem to be closed on Sunday's. But since Sushila's has expanded their services, I also got my pedicure for the first time there on a Sunday. They did a great job! Beyond the care that they put into the pedicure, they are extremely sanitary. They use an autoclave to sanitize their tools v. passive questionable soaking in barbicide. They had this really cool motorized tool to smooth out the bottom of your feet. It looked like a blow dryer, but it had a place to put on a smoothing material (a new one per customer!) and it buffs out the roughness from your feet. Only a couple of notes for improvement on the pedicure would be the limited color selection for nail polish, and the massaging chairs were not the best that I've experienced. However, the chair itself was extremely comfortable -- the best that I've sat in for a pedicure. While the pedicure was $30, which is 50% more than other places I go to, I thought it was well worth it for the peace of mind of cleanliness the quality job they did. The folks here do a wonderful job! Although it is a little far from where I live, I feel they are worth the drive :) I've had the chance to get some threading done by Sushila and the other tech, both do a fantastic job!! Threading is usually a little expensive business at other beauty salons but very affordable here. A basic visit for eyebrow and upper lip threading would cost you $14 which is inexpensive. And you wouldn't have to visit again at least for three weeks, unlike the case with waxing where hair growth is too fast. I've gotten other services like arm/leg waxing too and they do a pretty good job with that as well. Suggestion - They're always busy! Try going post 7pm, they get a little quiet at that time since it's close to their closing time! read more

Ever since I moved to Jacksonville from NY I've been coming here to get my eyebrows done. I personally have never gotten them done by Sushila, probably because I never make appointments so she's always busy, but every lady that has done them I've been very happy with the results. Today Sangeeta did them, I finally catch her name so I can request her the next time I come in. Thank goodness, a place to get your eyebrows threaded in Jacksonville. They did a great job and I was done in 5 minutes, not kidding. If you have never had your brows or other facial hair threaded, you should, it's less painful than waxing and doesn't rip the skin off your face! I also had a pedicure, which was wonderful, a much better massage and experience than your average nail salon. She took her time, used great products and I really enjoyed it. The salon is spotless, and the furniture is very comfy and upscale, you'll see what I mean. They also carry many European and upscale product lines. read more
