So this was my first ever Brazilian and I was extremely nervous. Daisy eased all my nerves immediately and made the process as smooth (pun intended) as possible. ** First male to review ** I never had a full brazilian before. In fact, I'd never had anything more extreme than dipping my fingertips in the melted wax from the top of an extinguished candle. Nothing could have prepared me for this. They do give you a wine warmup. You are intended to drink it. My wife got a living social deal, and I'd wanted my junk cleaned up for a long time (particularly the old brown eye). We went in and discovered that men's brazilian waxing (manzilian?) is considerably more expensive than the feminine variety. They honored the voucher anyway, and we tipped accordingly. Keepin' it classy. The owner was the one to perform my wax while my wife watched. The procedure was "kind of painless" ... more "shocking" than anything else. I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian, but saw on the website that the first visit is 50% off, so I booked and will use the Groupon next time. This place is great. Very convenient location, lots of free parking, near some cool restaurants. Small and intimate, they offered me a glass of wine upon walking in. Steve (the "receptionist") is super entertaining, and he and Chatman (hope I'm spelling that correctly) and I had a great conversation while I drank my wine. When it was time to get down to business, Chatman was very professional, quick but did a great job. That said, I came to uptown for the first time with a Groupon, and then returned a second and third time without. Definitely worth the full price, and they give you a discount if you book your next appointment then and there. Never again will I go anywhere else, or even peek at Groupon waxes. Great customer service and I'm now addicted to their services. The spray tan lasts a long time, looks very natural and is low maintenance and was only $12 the first time. My old place charges $60+ for a brazillian which is way too much for me to afford going as often as I'd like. Uptown Wax is so affordable and Shane (female) was great. Had my first wax here a few days ago and I had a really fantastic experience. They were able to get me in for a last minute appointment, which was awesome. When I got there the front desk lady (Brandy, I think?) greeted me with a smile and offered me a beer or a glass of wine, which, of course, I accepted. The owner happened to be in that day and was giving all her employees flowers and hugs so could already tell it was a great environment. My waxer, Morgan, was great. She provided the most comfortable, casual wax experience I've ever had. She had a great sense of humor and made sure I was doing ok the whole time. BEST WAX EXPERIENCE EVER! Ive been getting waxed for a long time and after moving to Denver this was the first place I tried and I love it! I previously gave this business a five-star rating. I will start off by saying that I do thank them for not charging me for the back wax that was performed there. I scheduled online to have my back waxed, I called several times to reschedule my appointment but nobody returned my call. Immediately after the person that waxed my back and said she was finished she said she had excused herself because she said she did not feel well. While she stepped out I checked out my back. I noticed she left many globs of wax on my back and large patches of hair. I brought it to her attention she looked very irritated that I mentioned it to her. She had me lay back down so she could clean it up. While she was doing that she stated that she felt sick and thought she had the flu. After the second time as I was putting my shirt back on I saw large amounts of wax and hair she left on my back . I paid for the waxing and immediately left because I'm on medication that weakens my immune system. I was not very happy with the poor quality of work done or that she was sick and working on me. I called Wax in the City I explained the experience I had just gone through and asked if they could help me and clean up my back since it had so much wax and it was getting on my clothes and there was large patches of hair. They graciously agreed to have me come in so they could look at it and agreed to correct it if they could. They did a terrific job! While they were cleaning up the areas on my back I could tell that there were large areas of hair on my shoulders, between the shoulder blades, on the sides on the lower back in the middle of my back, so basically they had to completely rewax of my back. That's how much hair and wax that was left. I called Uptown back the next day and told her about the lack of quality that was done her remark was she knew that she left a lot of hair and wax on my back because she was in a hurry to finish because she did not want to throw up on me since she had the flu. I told her that it was unprofessional of her to not inform me that she was sick and she should have rescheduled the appointment because I was susceptible to catching the flu due to my medical condition. She did agree not to charge me for the back wax and immediately hung up me. I called back and asked her if we got disconnected or if she hung up. She stated she hung up because she was very busy and the phones keep ringing and she wasn't feeling good again. I told her that that was very unprofessional to hang up on anyone and that she did not have any phone etiquette. After that experience I will never go there again and I highly recommend Wax in the City on Market Street. They were able to immediately and professionally accommodate my needs and did so cheerfully. Again I debated and did not want to write this review but I thought it would be unfair to future customers not to know what I went through.Good Luck read more
