For those that are curious about why I loved this place, please read on and I hope my words can encourage you to try out their amazing Asian food. I've been to Noir countless times, and it's always been easy to have a table there. Most times, I went in without a reservation, and there were still plenty of seats to choose from. The atmosphere felt calming and touched upon Asian motifs that helped beautify the restaurant, including cherry blossoms and Japanese characters on the walls. Japanese food is my favorite kind of cuisine, and I did live in Japan for a year back in 2020, so I was always up to try the food served at Noir. Many I already recognized and favored highly, such as the gyoza, miso soup, and yakitori chicken. But, I still tried new things like the crunchy sake sushi roll and osaka balls. I'd have to say my favorite dish was the crispy chicken/duck curry bowl. It was rich in flavor with a bed of white rice, vegetables, and coconut curry. It's hard to compete with such a dish. The curry bowl was large enough for me, but be mindful that most of the food on the menu are served in very small portions. You may get three pieces of shrimp tempura at most and a small bowl of soup. Sushi can vary, so I wouldn't be concerned about that, but this is the best place to go to when you want to share your food with friends- similar to tapas. My only gripe would be the drink sizes, as they seem way too small for one person to have. It could be a marketing strategy to get you to order more drinks, but I refused to do that and would have a bottle of water in my purse to get me through the rest of dinner. The service was good, with several English-speaking waiters. You wouldn't feel out of place if you came here with no German speaking abilities, if anything, you'd curse your stomach for not being large enough to consume more delicious food! Noir is a restaurant that I will miss dearly. Their items were well-made, service was nice, location is great if you want to leave afterwards for some dessert (there's many dessert places with cake & ice cream nearby), but most of all, it was an inviting space that allowed me to share beautiful moments with my friends. I taught them how to use chopsticks, some Japanese lingo like what they say before they eat (Itatakimasu!), and my personal favorite memory: I got a very picky eater who was strictly against eating Asian food to LOVE sushi. If you want to create special memories in Germany within a cool establishment with tons of yummy dishes to share, then Noir is the place for you.

The restaurant is pretty big and has indoor and outdoor seating. It's an all you can eat place with options to order other dishes separately. The ordering process is kind of cool...everyone orders off of an iPad that has the menu downloaded with pictures. Each person can order 5 items each every 15 minutes. The food came out pretty quickly but sometimes not in order (you might get something from your first order after you've gotten everything from your 2nd and 3rd orders). There were also a couple of times when we just didn't get what we ordered but since it was all you can eat we just entered the same order in again. There is a big variety to choose from on the menu but...the quality just isn't that great. Maybe it's because I grew up in Hawaii and traveled to Japan a lot so I have high expectations for sushi/sashimi. The salmon nigiri was decent and the green tea and mango ice cream were pretty good.

They took forever with dishes and they charged EXTRA for the food we didn't eat! WTF?! Do not go here. The food was so mediocre the best part were the sweet potato fries. Our bill was €100 then they added €5 for the uneaten food! Ridiculous. If you want the worst eating experience go here.

Man, this place was a train wreck. Full disclosure: we had a large party of 14, but we reserved a…read moretable in advance, which really wouldn't have been an issue since only two other groups came while we were there. We also booked the table at 4:30 when they first opened, since we figured two hour would be plenty of time to get to our event at 7:00. To save time, we also sent in our orders by email in advance. The first strike happened when we first got there, and ordering drinks was like pulling teeth. Seriously, one person would order, then the owner or waitress would walk away. One waitress straight up ignored one person in our party. Eventually, we managed to convince them to stay and take all of our drink orders. Eventually drinks became coming out, but one at a time with a few minutes' delay in between each drink. The second strike was how long the food took to come out. Due to traffic, not everyone got there until 4:45 or 5, but we had enough people there to confidently tell them to start by 5. The appetizers came out about 20 minutes later, which weren't bad (although I've never had green gyoza before). Maybe 20 minutes later, miso soup came out, and it was weird. It was grittier than any miso I've ever had in my life. But the real kicker was that our main dishes didn't come out until 6 or 6:15. And even then, some people didn't get their dishes until closer 6:30. Again, I understand if you're busy, but 1) half of the dishes were sushi which isn't cooked, 2) we preordered, and 3) there was only one other diner (who was already gone) when a family of four came in at 6:30. The final strike was when we went to pay. We found out they don't take cards (of course), but luckily a few of us carry cash just for this very occasion. But, when we asked him to split it, the owner went in the back and disappeared. I don't know what he was (maybe trying to separate the bill using excel or something?), but typically in cases like this with bigger groups, the person just tells the server what they had, and the server just chooses them from their point of sale system, or in low tech cases, they grab a calculator and work out the total that way. But he disappeared. We eventually had to tell him to just bring the bill and we just pooled out of our money together because we only had 20 minutes to get to the venue that was 15 minutes away--which we would have done if we knew he would disappear for 10-15 minutes. The owner seems pretty incompetent, the staff was a little rude, and the food was not worth the price. It's pretty apparent since again, only two other parties came in on a Saturday night, so I'm guessing most locals know to avoid this place.

I really wanted to give this place higher marks but the service was horrible. Close to 20 minutes…read morebefore I could order a drink. That's with the waitress saying one minute many times. The sushi came piecemeal so I could not enjoy my options together but had to eat the tuna when it came, the eel when it came, etc. I got here at 1900, am still here at 2030 and only about 1/2 me meal has come. My drink had been empty for at least 45 minutes and no one had asked if I want anything else. Since I had to basically accost the waitress for the first I am not asking for a second out of principle. The sushi is ok but I have had better here. So overall not a good experience.
