Our family is very grateful for the Susquehanna Memorial Gardens staff. I was putting off something that had to be done. The staff very kindly contacted me and encouraged me to finish what needed to be done. Claire Finger and Karl Dellinger assisted me to complete our artistic endeavor. Oh my what happened to this place. It used to be so pretty. I was there today to look at buying lots and the upkeep is non existent. Signs around the grounds needed painted years ago, trees grown together blocking the roads bushes not trimmed for ages? Big star has cracks on it, surrounding fence in need of maintenance. July 2019 my father passed away in which there was already prepaid setup from years prior transfered to my name. I had signed proofs of what was to be on the stone in August 2019. (Also stone was prepaid years prior just needed the order to be sent in to have it done and customized). I sat down and did this at the location. I emailed a signed copy of the proof and was told it would be ordered. It was never ordered. Then they could not find my proof and needed me to send it again- and again. (Which I did because I do have it and offered to even physically bring it there) they had received these emails and was to send the order out. (This is after many attempts) and a temp was to be placed. Well the temp headstone was placed a year and half later and had his name MISPELLED!! A year and half with no plaque that was payed for and was to be ordered- and to after all that time get the disrespect of a temporary plaque that is misspelled. Still now in March 2021 the problem is not resolved. I paid for an item that was never received and they obviously do not care to fix it. I have phone call records, email records, and tons of information on the past almost 2 years of trying to get what he deserves and what we paid for up to honor him--- but since they have their money I guess they do not care to respect the deceased or family or contract! Yes COVID has put time back a little but that is no excuse for the time frame for this situation. The lack of resolution after this long and then misspelled names is by far one of the most disrespectful things I have encountered during a super rough time. So at this point I purchased an item that they have refused to provide in almost 2 years, which is at this point theft. I will be taking this to the next level. read more

I wish there was a way to give them less than a zero. This place is so disrespectful and hurtful!!!! All they want is your money. And yes what others have said about the lack of maintenance is VERY VERY true. My Mother purchased a spot for both of them when my Father passed. It came with many promises and all that's all they were....promises. She spent the extra and I do mean EXTRA money to purchase in the mausoleum up on the hill. It was to be enclosed ...which is the ONLY thing they have done....my guess is because of a contract. This is a locked area and the only keys are for loved ones of the deceased and the employees....yet they continually throw away any artificial arrangements that we put there. WHY????? They say that they have to do when it's posted for mowing .....HELLO you don't mow in a building!!! We have locked the artificial arrangements on to the cone holder so they wouldn't remove them....but guess they carry a bolt cutter with them when they mow in the building. I can understand the tossing of dead flowers and plants....even artificial ones that are obviously not going to be removed by the family like a Christmas one in the spring. This caused my Mother a lot of pain because it meant a lot to her to have an arrangement there. She tried to go as often as she could to retrieve the artificial arrangements because being artificial and in a building they looked as nice as the day she put them on. When my Mother suddenly passed we went to make her arrangements. I tried to discuss this with the manager because the arrangement that she had put on only a very short time before her death was missing...from what we could figure it was there for 1 day. He actually was a total ass and again went over the mowing reason. He said he would get the arrangement out of the trash and put it back on before we had her service. Hmmmm a new arrangement in the trash.....what are the chances of that one. He never did...He ACTUALLY took the flowers off another and stuck in their holder. He knew how upset I was when I removed them at the funeral and shoved them in his hand. NONE of this has made any impression on him. They said they would be stopping to speak with us as a follow up I believe it was a day or two later...never showed...they had their money. The task of keeping an arrangement there has now fallen to me. I am not that close and can not get there often to check to see if it has been taken... but I ALWAYS show up for the changing seasons to put a another arrangement on...locked on. The red white and blue one with a flag....again locked on with a note to PLEASE leave on because my Father was a VET......but it was gone again too. REALLY a Vet !!!!!! What kind of person are you?? This was actually an arrangement that could have been left on year round but I always do for the seasons. They want you to purchase their OVERPRICED skimpy arrangements. A cemetery with no arrangements on is so sad....and they wonder why they have such a bad reputation. If you don't want to believe me talk with a few funeral directors...their opinions of them aren't much better than mine, for different reasons but basically the same.... all they want is your money.... and as much of it in any way they can. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor...go somewhere else...ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

I give Susquehanna Memorial Gardens a 0 rating. My mother has just passed this past Friday and we are having issues with getting her first name corrected on her headstone. We are going to lay her to rest tomorrow morning. It is a traditional Veteran headstone made of bronze. Her first name is misspelled and signed incorrectly on one paper but spelled and signed correctly on another paper. Years later (1982) an agent was at their home and was informed of this & promised to fix it, but apparently it was never done. My father being a trusting person did not follow up on this. This past Friday he went to the cemetery with my brother and saw it was still incorrect. They spoke with an employee & were told it would cost $1,100 to fix. Then in the office were told it would cost $2,500 to have it fixed. My father agreed to pay 1/2 of it and they agreed to pay 1/2. Now, today, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, the manager, who seems to be an obnoxious ass, spoke with my brother over the phone & told him that they will pay 1/2 the cost but the price is $5,000. We are just so disgusted with this place and we have to lay my mother to rest at this HORRIBLY disorganized & dysfunctional facility tomorrow, if they even break the ground for her to be laid to rest. All of the costs had been paid for many years ago. Their record keeping is very poor and I hope they get audited. My brother also had issues with his plots he had purchased through them. They lost paperwork. They gave them 2 replacement plots. A little later they called begging to meet with them anywhere because they found their original paperwork in an employees desk drawer and they wanted them to sign the replacement plots paperwork back to them. We are still fighting to get this justified for my father. This is just NOT right! read more
