I recently adopted a smol baby who needs some socializing, so it's nice to have a store I can take him to where he can see people, and sometimes other dogs, and occasionally get pet by strangers and learn that it's going to be okay. Their prices aren't anything special, but the discount thing is nice. Since I typically buy the same kind of foods for my pups, it's helpful. Employees are nice. They throw in a fun sized Mounds bar every time you buy something.

Our dog is in the Scottish breed and the breed is always groomed with long eyebrows standing straight out over the eyes. And a beard down the chin. When we took our pet in the next time we pointed these things out requesting no scissors cut but the more standard cut for the breed. When we came to pick up our pet she was completely shaven, body, legs, face, everything. We were appalled by the results and when we questioned the groomer about the cut she said (while she stood there with her arms folded and her hip sticking out in one direction and a condescending look on her face and said "I've been a groomer for ____ yrs and I know how to groom a dog". Well, missy, I beg to differ if this is the result. And she said we asked for something different each time and maybe we shouldn't come back. We had recently moved to this area & had our last groomer for 9 yrs. We wanted this place to be our new groomer and we took our pet in 6 times and our wishes were never followed so this was the last straw. We got our money back for that visit and never went back. Our last visit was a little more than a year ago but I'm writing this now because I saw PetSmarts new push for new clients. They probably need more clients because they drove the other ones away. They knowingly sold me a puppy infected with Giardia, a serious intestinal parasite, and then had the audacity to act like I wouldn't figure it out. Newsflash -- you tried to fool the wrong person. The staff clearly think customers are naïve, but I did my homework. My vet confirmed the diagnosis and was appalled that a store would sell a sick puppy while lying about it. When I confronted them, they danced around it, blamed it on "adjustment diarrhea," and pointed to their little fake manual like that excused their dishonesty. Let's be clear -- lying about the cause of a puppy's diarrhea and covering up a Giardia infection isn't customer service, it's fraud. And you won't get away with it this time. Not only am I taking legal action, but I'm making sure every single person in this area knows exactly what you're doing. And next time, don't try to scam one of the area's most successful restaurateurs and entrepreneurs. You might be able to lie to someone else, but you're not going to lie to me. She was a wonderful angel that I paid a small fortune to veterinary specialists to try & keep healthy. She died at age 9 which is 5 to 8 years younger than my other 4 Mini Schnauzers. She had a heart murmur, allergies, & constant ear infections. My others dogs did not have these issues. I fed all of them human grade, homemade food so these issues should not have been present. She also was extremely fearful from no early socialization. If you are against puppy mills, buy elsewhere because that is where these pups are coming from.

After reviewing all the paperwork and checking out the kennel that he came from.. we were horrified. This place has been on the worst puppy mill list all the way back to 2005. I tried to contact the store however the manager and staff were extremely rude and didn't want to answer any questions about this finding. I received a message from the CT Coalition Against Puppy mills stating the following: Rest assured that Raber's "kennel" is a puppy mill. With over 300 dogs in 2016, there is no doubt. ACA is a crap registry, you can use the paper to potty train the puppy on, it's meaningless. It's difficult to walk past these puppies in the stores, but as long as people keep buying them, the puppy mills will continue to thrive. Enjoy your puppy, but please remember that his parents will never get out of their breeding hell. When the adults can't produce puppies anymore, the Amish usually shoot or drown them. Without any cooperation from Furry Babies to get answers, we have had to find our own. The only recourse that we have at this point is a possible lawsuit of misrepresentation, possibly fake documents and notifying the public of our findings by social media, news and whatever else it will take.

The squirrels finally got the best of the mechanism that is designed to keep them out. The interior cylinder was also cracked but still functional. I dropped it off, asking for the replacement piece for the part that makes it squirrel proof. Got a call an hour later saying it was complete. Picked it up today, asked what the charge was and was told "nothing". Wow, that was awesome! The icing on the cake was that when I got home and pulled the feeder out of the bag, they had also replaced the entire center cylinder - my feed is good as new!!! THAT is why I will always purchase from these wonderful franchise owners!!!
