This is part of the Anchorage Library System so my library card, which I got in Eagle River, worked here!! 2. The online card catalog is very easy to use and reserve items. 3. The staff is very friendly and helpful. 4. Unlike the Eagle River library, this one is open 6 days a week. Great hours too! The library is super easy to find. You just drive through downtown on Evergreen until you hit a dead end. It's right across the street from the end of the road. Turn right and then two lefts. Parking lot! My nerdy English teacher book worm self is satisfied and happy. =)

We love the Wasilla Public Library! I have spent most of my time in the children's section with my…read morelittle one so my review will be skewed that way but I hope to enjoy the rest of the library in the future! They offer a variety of story times catered to each age range. Story time includes poems, songs, dancing, books and they are always finished off with a craft that sticks with the theme of story time. Such a fun offering! The book selection is wonderful and they also have puzzles and a few stuffed toys for children to enjoy. They also offer computers with age appropriate games. The staff is very helpful if there is something specific you are looking for. One of my favorite features is that if the Wasilla library does not have a book you are looking for at their location you can place a hold on a copy throughout Alaska's public libraries and they will ship it to the Wasilla location for you to pick up! I can't wait to continue to explore what else the library has to offer!

I love this library! I haven't been in the upstairs sections since Covid but I use the online…read moresystem weekly. A library card is free, and they recently eliminated all late fees and lost book fees (not sure how that's gonna work out....) If you bring a utility bill to show you have an Anchorage address you can check out up to 12 books at a time, otherwise you're limited to 3 at a time. Your library card also gives you access to a lot of ebooks and online movie rentals! The online website is super user friendly, you can reserve a book and the library will call you when it's ready. You walk in, and it's self serve pick up by last name. Super quick. The library offers a drive up return or you can go in person. Bathrooms are readily available and they have a little cafe.

But most everything is is woefully lacking. The materials are very out of date... stuff dating back to before the 70s that isn't valid anymore. So I don't know how students can be expected to use it. I suppose most research is done through the online portals.

There are lots of tables and seating all over the place! The second floor has a quite area on the east side for those looking to get away from the noise. There always seems to be computers available and there are a few printing stations and copy rooms available. Good luck finding parking if you come any time Mon-Thu during the day time classes. The thing I hate about the library is that the entrance is no where near the parking lot. You can be on the east side of the building and see your car and have to walk forever just to get to it. I'm still old school and love to peruse the books and prefer reading an actual book rather than on a device. Most recently I went in for a specific book, which I had checked online and it showed available. You can of course use the computers there to find your book or find it just as easily with your device. A brief lookup on my phone and I found it quickly!' Books, audio books, magazines, movies and a plethora of digital items to check out online as well. There is plenty of space, tables and even private rooms for study. The staff is polite and helpful to boot! One thing to make note of is you need to contact them first about donating items. They don't just take things on a whim, and definitely not a place to just dump your boom supply.

I really enjoy this library because of an incident like yesterday that just took me by surprise. I came in looking for a specific reference book and the clerk was so helpful before explaining that those materials were not at this facility, but she could order it and I could pick it up. I thought that was pretty decent and left my number for when it got there. I was thinking a couple of days..wrong..I got a call at the end of the day...it was there... And even though it was late, if I was on my way she would wait for me...wow...thanks that was so cool...

But going inside, it was pretty nice. It is a smaller library but it seemed like it had things to offer. There was a reserved shelf that was filled up, so it seems like many people go there. They have audio/video to offer as well to check out.

I love the staff recommendations and have found a few of my favorite reads here including picture books for the kiddos! The bookstore had helped me order a few unique books I couldn't find anywhere else quickly, efficiently, and affordably! Why go to a big box store when Fireside is better in every way?

Discovered this on my last day in Anchorage. Right from the entrance, there are lots of newer books…read moremarked for just $4.99! Store is huge and really well labeled by genre. Prices are fantastic. Several little nooks filled with good souvenirs/gift ideas.

They can only LOOK at 20 books at a time. Out of maybe 200 books I brought in, they took 5. $20 in…read morestore credit or $8 cash. They have a sign saying they don't take trades in on Wednesday so I went in on Thursday & they said they were down for the entire next week. What should've been a 1 time task turned into a multi- week endeavor. They can't tell you what you recently bought (god forbid you're looking for the next in a series). They can't tell you at the counter to pay how much credit you have. Overall would not recommend as far as trying to trade things in. I also called and asked if they take puzzles (unopened) and they said yes, next time I came in I asked again and they said yes again. When I actually brought the puzzles in they said they don't take puzzles.
