My experience with Colin O'Sullivan was extremely disappointing. I was an active Army Reservist when I was assaulted in the 4th Avenue jail garage, an area that I understood had extensive surveillance. This happened shortly before my ACL reconstruction. The officers were aware of my knee injury. They removed my immobilizer without my permission and, according to facts and body cam audio , targeted my injured knee while making threatening statements. "You'll have more then a torn ACL when I'm done with you" The injury became so severe that jail medical staff denied me entry and I was transported to the emergency room. Afterward, I felt that my case was handled in a way that ignored the circumstances surrounding my injury. My Army unit reached out to Mr. O'Sullivan and the court to provide input and ask questions, but those concerns were not addressed. " I have an Email from a 1st SGT saying this. When the garage video got illegally deleted and longer available, I was told there was no way to obtain it by Mr Sullivan and that it would become my word against theirs. During my five months dealing with this case, I felt pressured rather than represented. I was told future plea offers could get worse, but I refused to accept something I did not believe was right. Ultimately, I no longer have those felony charges on my record. At sentencing, Mr. O'Sullivan did not appear, and a substitute attorney represented me. *During my first court appearance I was told verbatim from the Judge had your attorney submitted the motion before court I would have removed your ankle monitor. *Curtis Fisher in front of the court room asked me about my mental state/anger management, my deceased mother and therapy after I had been arrested and jailed for three days before being given the highest maximum possible bond for a person with zero prior criminal history. *During one court appearance Christian Leuders actually said that he "did not know the details of my case" because he was just assigned to it. To be clear my defense attorney got on the stand and said that they were ignorant to the facts of my case because they were just assigned to my case in a hurry without proper preparation. This is admittedly ineffective counsel and unpreparedness. *Additionally not being able to move freely caused me to suffer the cost of 6 months of living expenses in Arizona before I was granted the ability to return back home to Texas. *I went to the Suzuki law firm in my city to get a clear understanding of what was happening with my case because the communication was sparse and had Christian Leuders also curse me out while he was on vacation and repeatedly ask me "why are you angry" as an attempt to illicit some sort of emotional response from me. Completely classless tactic from a position of trust. This caused severe mental duress at a time of obvious turmoil. *Christian ALSO was forcing what he initially described as a crappy plea deal on me. I hired Suzuki Law in August this year. In my experience, the lawyers were extremely professional and to the point and I enjoyed their personalities. The lawyer Michael was genuine. He helped with the cases and got the plea to get the minimum sentence without having a felony on record. Also, a bond was attainable. This was good news. I can't remember the other lawyers names that helped out. I'm pretty sure it was Randy that help introduce me to the firm. He was straight forward and nice. No bullshit. Santana came in to talk a little, gave me the break down of the cases, estimate charge, gave me his card, and then left. Overall, nice guys. During the thick of it, Michael gave his attention to the cases. He made a phone call to me maybe twice during the whole thing, which wasn't a problem at first. All in all, I was pleased with how Michael handled us as customers. However, I could only contact Michael by emails. This played a problem later. With how much I was paying for their service, I thought Suzuki Law should talk with me in all forms of contact. Now, here was the area that didn't do so well. The Billiing department was such a big problem for me. I had paid Suzuki Law in two forms of payment - debit card and credit card.nd asked if the Billing department could change the payment to just one check issued from the same credit card. They said it was no problem. At this point, I was happy. Suzuki Law was changing my form of payment and taking care of the case. All in all, good customer service and in a sense, making my life easier. A runner came by and picked up the check. In the mean time, I had the rest of the bond money to figure out while I wait for a refund. The next business day, I saw the refund to the credit card went through effortlessly, but the debit card charge did not get sent back to me. I should've called them then, but I was thinking it must be different for debit cards to get refunded. Just like renting a car or hotel. Plus, I don't see a charge on the check yet. Just wait. So, I did. I waited and weeks passed. No phone call. No charge to the check I gave them. No refund to my debit card. I was a little worried. So, I called the Billing department and they said the check was bad. I told him that was impossible. I had available credit and asked why didn't anyone call me. The Billing guy was rude to me and asked me why am I even changing my form of payment because the two charges went through successfully. Not that it was his business, but I told him. The rest of the conversation didn't go smoothly. So, I ended the call and called the bank. They said to write another credit card issued check. I was unhappy. I write another check and I walk into the office to hand deliver the check on August 23rd. I was stressed out, full of anxiety, and I felt unwelcomed. I tried to explain again and he interrupted me and said, "I understand. It's a lot of money". So, to say the least, I said good bye and walked out of the office. The lady waiting in the lobby overheard our conversation because the Billing guy didn't have the decency to close the door behind me. I showed myself out. Feeling dumb while I do it. So, you guessed it. I waited and it took until September 6th to get my refund. I called the bank, nothing. I was pissed. First, they told me they had it done and now I have to wait some more?! I called twice that day. I won't lie. I raised my voice on the phone, I went all out on the second call. I was unhappy. I was hurt from all the lies and hold up. I cried after I hung up the phone. I was so frustrated. I cried again because the time stamp on the refund receipt was a minute after my last phone call ended with them. If I was a "priority customer", why was the time stamp today and not the two days ago? Or better yet, why was it not done when I gave them that second issued check in August 23rd? Point of the story, you would have exhausted yourself every means necessary to get a loved one out of jail before you get a refund that was held up by Suzuki Law offices. read more

Wife got into a vehicle collision. We were originally with another law firm for a couple months. We began looking for another lawyer to take our case as they tried to get us to settle the case so fast it seemed rushed and not fully valued. We met with a few lawyers, including one who recommended that we just handle it ourselves claiming the case was not worth the work etc. We met with Richard Suzuki and his paralegal team. He was professional and concerned for my wifes well being. After explaining what we have been through he was not deterred and gladly offered to go to fight for us. The process is a long one and we dont have much patience. A negative was that he did go through a few different paralegals while we where going through the process. Some were better than others. We ended up just setting a couple meetings with Richard to go over expectations and any questions we had. In the end the process was a headache, but Richard wrote a very thorough "Demand Letter" and was able to negotiate with State Farm to get us more than double what the other law firm told me to settle for. The lawyer that represented didn't know my husband's name or know it was his second offense on the COURT DATE. Won't recommend law office or any of their offices to friends or family. The law office took our case and thought we'd hear from someone. We were always reaching out to law firm to get some response. We were always calling about hearings or how our case was going in general. Nothing in response. Just representative saying "He'll call you back.'' We were constantly taking days off because we would see a hearing on the city's page but wouldn't hear from the lawyer. We didn't want to chance it, so we would go. When it came to our court day this lawyer didn't even know my husbands name when approaching judge. The lawyer looked back to see if my husband was going to stand and that was lawyer's confirmation if it was his name or not. This lawyer didn't even know he had a previous charge, my husband in front of the judge had told the lawyer about it. $6,000 for a lawyer not knowing a clients name, we are convinced he didn't even look at our case. We had no way of contacting our attorney directly as the only way was to call his office phone (even after hours) sit on hold for 20 minutes to MAYBE speak to him. So for an emergency situation you were out of luck to speak to YOUR attorney. My brother even had difficulty getting in contact with the attorney due to the same issue. To me, that is extremely unprofessional and unreliable. I will not divulge the specifics of the case for a friend of mine but I came in at the end of their case when they had to go to court for the final hearing and I'm the end still ended up doing some time. The paralegals are rude, Brad, the attorney is inconsistent and only wants to get paid. If you are an attorney that knows a case may require a bit more information/knowledge so that the person who is requesting your services can have the best outcome, as a decent human being one would hope you would find it in your heart to do what is right for them and not think about a check. I'm extremely disappointed in this law office but then again it is AZ what more can one expect. If you have any criminal suits pending against you and you are not a citizen DO NOT USE this law firm.
