Only idiots would refuse payment because a credit card (VISA, Mastercard) is issued outside of the US. We placed our online order with Swanson on Oct 19, 2024. It is now November 10, 2024 and we still have not received our order. On November 1, 2024, we contacted their customer service via the email shared on their website (customercare@swansonsupport.com). We explained that "our order appears to have gotten lost as it is now going on two weeks since we placed it...plus, the tracking presently shows it is sitting in a Colorado warehouse and hasn't moved since Friday, October 25, 2024. Our confirmation states to expect "delivery within 2-6 days" to the P.O. Box address entered during our ordering process...which is clearly noted on our order confirmation (along with that address). When asked for an explanation for the delay, we received a bunch of mumbo jumbo (canned responses)...and continue to await our order. We've used Swanson on and off for many years...occasionally with mishaps (damaged items, etc.)...and have been able to reasonably sort out these mishaps, but, have clearly not experienced anything like that this time...which, sadly, may have caused a permanent severing of our relationship with them. I've been a customer with Swanson for many years. Their products look to be what they say on the labels. And they're mostly affordable. However, I had to wait almost 2 weeks, and still no product. Very disappointing. And there was no tracking information emailed to me. I believe i only got the vitamins rushed to me because i called them, and demanded a status. Hence the mediocre rating. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I received an email saying 'thank you for your order' confirmation for almost $65. worth of items. I had not ordered anything. The order was placed by someone in Georgia, and was to be sent to someone with my name in Texas. I live in New Hampshire. The customer's name and address were clearly stated on the order and it was not me. Someone there was too stupid or lazy to make sure the order went to the correct account, and just picked the first person in their files with my name (evidently). This was the beginning of a nightmare. I immediately called them trying to correct the situation promptly. I got nowhere on the phone, with the foreign person telling me they would 'talk to the supervisor' and get back to me. They never did. Instead they sent another email saying "MY" order had been cancelled! (It wasn't my order, you idiots!) They also said my account was "flagged" and I should change my email address and my password. Are you kidding??? UM, NO! They actually tried to punish me for their stupidity. (I have lived at my address in NH for over 25 years, and had my email address for almost 20. The person who actually ordered has the same name, but lives in TEXAS. I have never lived in TX). In addition. the person who actually ordered this merchandise has still not been informed that their order was cancelled because they emailed me instead of to the email address of the 'orderer'! All this has just happened this week. In addition to trying to resolve this by phone and getting nowhere, I emailed them multiple times, also to no avail. I found the email address of their LEGAL DEPT. and I have just emailed not only customer care but also the legal dept. and demanded that they completely DELETE MY ACCOUNT, AND ALL MY INFORMATION from their site. If I don't receive confirmation of this, we will have our attorney contact them. For years I was a satisfied customer of Swanson pharmaceuticals to purchase vitamins and supplements. Either ownership or management has changed, and ordering is now a horror show. Yesterday I started an online order to restock things I had depleted and could not check out because a chat box pops up on the checkout page and blocks access to closing checkout. This happens whether you use Paypal or a card. I advise now not using a card. I tried chat and received a "closed" message. I next tried calling customer service and met a recording that my call was received "after hours" and the recording noted to call back during normal hours. Spent two hours trying to get through their defective (designed?) checkout. Next day, I returned to the Swanson site, logged in, and tried to check out my cart. Same cart appeared- now with a price of $81.06 - Also, same defect of chat blocking checkout. I try another web browser and see same defect problem but my cart price jumps to above $93. I call customer service and after an interminable wait I am connected to an obvious call center which I learn is in the Phillipines. The respondent discloses they cannot do anything about the live chat blocking checkout. I ask to be connected to a manager in HQ and I get put on hold and bounced around to more Phillipinos. One finally gets me a transfer to the states who starts playing the helplessness game too and starts to hand off my call to yet another person. While on hold, I think maybe if I can set my cursor arrow at the low end of the page and can click the checkout box before the live chat box loads to block the page, I might get my stuff and get out. After two failures I succeed in beating the live chat reload, but the checkout price is now $101 and I'm charged for shipping that was free when I started. Why should any company need a live chat popup on the cart checkout link anyway? Another two hours shot, and I'm through. When it was operated from Utah, it was great. With whatever happened, it is now a nightmare, I won't go back again and I advise no one else to buy here either. read more

Customer care Swanson vitamins, I received my vitamins on May 13, 2020 under the Order #: 75175520 and Order Date: 05/08/2020. I was very upset and angry when I saw the package. You shipped my vitamins in a cheap thin plastic bag. All of my vitamins with small boxes were squashed and a section of the plastic bag was torn. You should've never shipped my vitamins of total $90 in a cheap thin plastic bag. Instead you should've ship them in a secure cardboard box. Whenever I order vitamins through Lucky Vitamins or Amazon, they always ship them in a secure cardboard box. So I'm not sure weather I would order my vitamins anymore through Swanson or not ! This company is very deceitful in selling vitamins. They do not put accurate information on the front of the label for what you are purchasing. I purchased Albion Magnesium Glycinate, 133 mg per capsule. My husband was going to purchase this product because this is the best form of magnesium to take. When you read Swanson's label on the back; in fine print, it says (and Magnesium Oxide). This is the cheapest form of magnesium and the least absorbed in your body; but, the front of the label in big letters says Magnesium Glycinate! I will bet it has very little of the more expensive magnesium in it. They use deceitful and misleading information in the vitamins they sell. READ THE LABEL...I didn't read the fine print and got snookered!! I now have 8 bottles of this poor quality product remaining. I am a long time customer; but, I am done with Swanson Vitamins. Oh! And, when you go to leave a review on a product, if you give it one star; Swanson blocks you from posting the review. Very unethical company! read more

Re : Unsubscibing from Emails There was no place to "Unsuscibe" at the bottom of the Swanson emails. I had to click on "Reply" to ask to be unsubscribed. Four days later, I had to do it again, mentioning that further emails will be sent to "Spam". They then replied with an email that it would take "24-48 hours" Emails have since stopped. Re ". Response from Swanson about Refund (the reason for initial review) I waited a few days for a response from Swanson to my email about questionable refund and company practices in general before writing my initial Yelp review about them and unsubscribing from their emails. Since I unsubscribed by sending a "Reply" email, I also mentioned that if I ever noticed good Yelp reviews--as opposed to the many bad reviews by other disappointed, long - time customers - - about their company, I would probably reconsider doing business with them. Coincidentally (??), one hour and two minutes after sending my unsubscribe email, I received a very nice email that explained how they processed the credit in detail, apologized for condition of the shipment and sent a link to a $15 Off coupon. If they could have taken the time to send that detailed email explaining how they were processing the credit when they first issued the credit, this would have been a different review and I would still be a customer, however, I would not be ordering any canned goods. Unfortunately, it took three additional phone calls and two emails to have them explain exactly how they processed the refund this time. This used to be such a fine company. I know this because I tried to post a review that I wasted my money on one of their products and they rejected my review! They sent me an e-mail that it didn't meet their criteria! Ha! I ordered 4 bottles of Keratin that was supposed to be for my hair. I not only didn't see any benefit from taking the product, but more hair started coming out than before I took it! I thought it was strange that there was only a few reviews of the product and those few were all 5 star. Now I know why! I doubt if those reviews were even from actual customers. They are located in Fargo, N.D. but when you dial the 800-437-4148 number, you're getting their co. in the Philippines. So, I waited 10 mins. & found out it was the other country & then they transferred me so I had to wait again. No, there is no separate tel. no. Not only is the phone service getting slower, but I'm not amenable to supporting employees in the PHilippines. I just spoke to the manager (another wait) who transferred me so I could make my LAST order, & yet I am waiting again - on a "V.I.P. number she temporarily gave me. Oops! I have been a long time online customer of Swanson, but I will never over from Swanson again. I purchased during a 35% off sale, however the items ordered were backordered. At the time I authorized the order (last week), my total included the 35% discount. Today I received an email that my order had shipped, however instead of $102 I was being billed $157. I contacted Swanson via their chat function of their website and "spoke" to Nick. Nick said he didn't know how that happened, and I would receive the over billed funds within 3-5 days. I brought up concerns I had recording this response such as, how do I know this will not happen again? What about your other customers? I just happened to notice that I was billed incorrectly. I was given no assurance this would not happen again. I was not told that they would do anything to look into why this error occurred or if they would be looking into any other customer orders to confirm that the mistake did not effect anyone else. I was not even offered a coupon for future orders. When I stated that I was unhappy that my $50 that I had not authorized would not be refunded for 3-5 days, Nick's Response was basically, that is how it works. Also they have different periodic sales on their products. I tried all the products that I ordered and loved all with one exception. I though "O my, what hoops am I going to have to go through with a return"? I am very happy to report that there were absolutely no hoops, none. Unfortunately, and I think this is the usual, I didn't receive a confirmation email. I called them a couple days later and a lady said that the order has for some reason been locked up and that it was not going to go through. She then asked me for my credit card number, which I didn't give her, since I wanted to make sure the order had been cancelled. She also talked to her manger and he said the same. 4 days later the order comes to my house. I called them to question and they had no record of the prior lady I had talked to. If you sign up for their emails you will be alerted to discount offers and sales. Shipment is even faster (2 days) if you buy enough to use their "Shoprunner " service. Using Shoprunner also avoids the recently added $1.99 fuel surcharge on all deliveries - AND it's very fast. Normal delivery is 2 to 5 days. If you have difficulty tracking a shipment simply call the automated service at 800-824-4491, where you can input your order number. The product I bought was great - lemonade-flavored Ultima Electrolyte Replenisher, but it took a week and a half to get here because Swanson chose Fedex Smartpost to send it without letting me know they had chosen this method, which is slower than the Pony Express. When I wrote a review, Swanson refused to publish it because I mentioned a competitor (Amazon) and I complained about shipping. Hey Swanson - you are responsible for choosing this shipping method (and you charged me for it). I was simply alerting their potential customers to the fact that they could have gotten free shipping with Amazon Prime and they made a bad choice shipping by Fedex Smart Post. For those of you who don't know what Smartpost is, it is a combination of Fedex and USPS. The product is picked up by the vendor and held in a warehouse until there are enough packages to ship via USPS. It arrives in your mailbox - not at your doorstep like regular Fedex. Because it has to wait in this holding cell, it usually takes 3 weeks to receive your package - archaic by today's standards. read more

After many years of dealing with this company, my Swanson account got hacked. Within 3 days 6 orders totaling over $600 were placed on my account using one of my stored credit cards. The hacker was using fake email addresses and Swanson didn't bother to check the email address, shipping address, or even ask the hacker for my credit card's CVV code. I reported this as soon as I found out to Swanson, and my credit card company. Swanson's only suggestion was to change my password, which I did. Now, having placed a new order using a different credit card and waiting for shipping info, I go into my account 5 days after placing the order and find it has been cancelled. They couldn't even bother to send me an email. I called them and the representative told me that a fraud alert was put on my account because some person/outfit somewhere had made fraudulent orders, and mentioned that I would not be able to ever order from them again. This is extremely poor customer service, with a "ha-ha" we don't care attitude, and they have lost a long-time customer.
