After several attempts to address our concerns directly with the owners, Chris and Christy Hester, went unanswered, we felt compelled to share our feedback. Despite leaving multiple phone messages, two voicemails, and a detailed text outlining the issues we encountered, we received no response. From the very beginning, we made it clear that the primary purpose of the fence was to contain our dogs. Unfortunately, the installation fell short in multiple areas, and several issues with the quality of the work need to be addressed. ### **Chain Link Section:** The chain link fence, which was supposed to secure our property, has several problematic areas. There are sections where the fence is up to 3 inches off the ground, which undermines its ability to contain our pets. Furthermore, the tension cable was initially missing, allowing our dogs easy access to escape. Although the tension cable was eventually installed after we raised the issue, we were informed this was not considered standard practice unless specifically requested due to the additional cost. However, our signed contract clearly depicted the inclusion of the tension cable, which is a minor but significant detail, priced at just $33 for 170 linear feet. Additionally, the proximity of the chain link gate to the post makes it difficult to close properly, which further compromises the fence's functionality. ### **Picket Fence:** While the picket section was somewhat satisfactory, it did not meet the agreed-upon standards. Chris had assured us that the fence would be installed 1-2 inches above the ground, yet we found areas where the gap was as much as 4 inches--much higher than promised. To add to the frustration, many stickers were left stuck to the bottoms of the pickets, giving the fence an unfinished appearance. ### **Gates:** The gates were the most disappointing aspect of the project. Oversized brackets were awkwardly hammered onto the corners rather than using properly sized fittings, which resulted in structural flaws. Bolts are missing due to the brackets being too long, and the four gate frames were not consistently sized. Additionally, the latches were installed in different orientations, and one gate cannot fully open, which is another significant inconvenience. One of the 4x4 posts was poorly angled, creating a one-inch gap between the post and the fence, while another gate was positioned several inches higher than the adjacent fence. As if these issues weren't enough, we also discovered misfired nails throughout the fence, leftover chain link debris scattered across our property, and the nails in the pickets were carelessly zigzagged. While the project was completed on time and at a reasonable price, the overall quality of the work was far from satisfactory. It's disheartening because *Quality Deck Builders* clearly has the potential to produce better results, but unfortunately, they took shortcuts on our project. As a result, we now find ourselves needing to make additional adjustments to ensure the security of our dogs.

All the joists were level and square, and deck corners fit together very nicely. In addition, Cameron was very considerate and professional; asking if they could park in driveway and leave something overnight. At the end of the day, I was also impressed how they cleaned up and stacked old deck boards neatly at side of house. Very highly recommended.

The other star is for the subcontractors who actually did the eight-week job that was supposed to be a three-week remodel. They were very hard-working and extremely respectful. The other reviewer is correct. Jesse and family do not do any of the actual work. It is all done by subcontractors. When Jesse showed up the first time, he impressed me with everything he said he could do and would do. It was a lot of talk, but I have been disappointed with his actions. The workers showed up when they said they would and worked long hours. I probably saw Jesse about ten minutes total in the eight weeks of the remodel. He told me I would receive paperwork showing he had Workman's Comp. Insurance on all of his employees and workers with my contract when I paid the initial payment. I never received any of that. I gave Jesse pictures of what I wanted things to look like, and the end result is not like the picture. Even a particular tile he sent me a picture of is not what is installed. I gave Jesse a very detailed list of what I wanted done when he did the initial walk-through including things we added together, even asking if I should buy the materials. At the end, things we discussed were not done and were added on as extra costs. Jesse rushed the crew halfway through the project while they were working here because he wanted them to work on another job of his, and it shows. At that point, I felt like I was being nickeled and dimed and that things had been intentionally left off so they could be charged later if I wanted them. During the project, the corner of my driveway wound up cracked/broken possibly during the trailer being backed up in the driveway. That is not the end of the world, but it would have been nice if the driver would have brought that to my attention. Also, the debris from the project piled up in the yard way too long when the trailer was not here. It is disheartening to have paid a small fortune (the checks cashed fast) and when I have had guests since the remodel to remark on a couple of things that should have been better. Ross Creek Cabinetry was one of the cabinet subcontractors. They entered my home without knocking or ringing the doorbell and went all through the house. They were very unprofessional and left a huge mess. Jesse said he dealt with that as that was the second time he had a similar customer complaint. Bedrock Countertops was another subcontractor. Rodrigo was very knowledgeable and efficient.
