Danielle is a miracle worker! My preschooler does NOT cooperate with haircuts but she manages to give him a great cut every time. I wanted this haircut to be great. Everyone was very sweet and they did a lot of different things to my hair. Unfortunately, I came out looking funky. I'm not sure why but the hairdresser shaved my hairline on my temples and behind my ears and left me with awkward bald patches. There were also a few spots that I realized later she had nicked and not told me about which seemed odd to me -- I'd like someone to tell me if I'm bleeding. She also put product in my hair without asking which is a huge pet-peeve if mine. It was a fine place to get a haircut but the haircut I got was as if they were doing it by a book without any regard to how it actually looked on my head. read more

I got my haircut by Dakota, who just recently started working at this barber shop! I was VERY pleased with my haircut. Upon being seated, I told him what I wanted - but was also open to his thoughts. He gave great insight and clearly knew what he was talking about. During the haircut he periodically checked on how I was feeling about the length, etc. - which I really appreciated. The past 10 months I been looking for a barber shop in delco that can cut my hair the right way. My hair is thick and grows very fast. It's a nightmare for many barbers who have never dealt with thick wavy hair. I have been to many different barber shops in my 31 years all over the country. Not trying to sound like a snob, but I have travelled a lot and been to a wide variety of barber shops from upscale to hole in the wall shops. All I have to say is Darius is easily one of the best barbers to cut my hair. It's not easy to find a barber who can skin fade the way he does. He operates efficiently, on time, and has fine attention to detail. Last thing is they have a real barber shop atmosphere. Comfortable couches, big screen tv's, magazines, and no one is trying to push any other services while you wait. All the other barbers, from my observation, all seemed very well trained and welcoming. I recommend this shop to anyone who values a great service from a real professional barber. read more

My hair had been getting a bit long so I decided I could really use a trim, I stopped in and sat down. The barber there was really kinda creepy and ominous, but he did a damn good job. Like the best ever, it was exactly how I wanted it and the straight edge razor led to it being so smooth. I do have to dock a star for the whole "slitting my throat" bit, but the slide down to the basement was really fun and I look honestly impeccably shaved! Would if I could go again. read more

Let's start with the positive. Darius is the best barber in the area. His work is consistently excellent. My three star review is based on the whole haircut experience. The negative? Darius doesn't always focus on the customer in his chair. He is constantly on his phone. I understand his cell phone is the business number, but he needs to let the call go to voicemail. And explain on his outgoing message that appointments are booked via their website. He also constantly checks text messages while cutting your hair. If the texts were an emergency, it would be totally understandable, but they seem to be casual conversations with his wife, friends and customers. It's gotten even worse now that he gets the barrage of text messages on his watch. It feels like your haircut is being started and stopped over and over. His customers are his lifeblood and their time needs to be respected. I try my hardest to make my appointments in the mornings because if you have to wait until later in the day, he is consistently behind. With a few changes to their business practices and more focus on the customers in the chair, this shop would really shine. I only have limited experience with the other barbers. I've been to the guy at the end once - he was very good and to the woman near the door - also very good. read more

Awesome barber shop. They have have an awesome system online where you can pick and choose your barber, see what appointments are available and choose whatever time slot works best for you. Also, they have a few tv's in there which usually has Sportscenter or The Office playing. The chairs they use are very comfortable too which is definitely a plus if you're getting a haircut for over 20 minutes. Danielle is the barber I use, she's a total sweetheart and is awesome at her craft. Plus, each cut she's given me has been better than the one before. I usually get a skin fade, hard part and a light trim on the top. I've never felt rushed and she's always taken her time making sure that I leave with the best possible haircut she could have given! read more

First time at Sweeney Todd's and also my last. Haircut turned out fine, but customer experience was pretty terrible. As soon as I sit down in the chair the barber starts chatting with another customer, a conversation that went on for my entire haircut. Topics included an alcoholic cousin, a detailed comparison of different strip clubs, a prostitute ex-girlfriend with 4 DUIs, and some guy's baby mommas (I wish I was making this up!). I get people chat in barbershops, but maybe choose some other topics when you got a new customer in (pro-tip: no one wants to hear about how your buddy sucked on a stripper's breast). Besides the annoying conversation, I also didn't like that for 90% of the hair cut, I wasn't facing the mirror. Busy in her conversation about strip clubs, the barber didn't ask me anything along the way, only turning me to the mirror when she was done to ask if everything looked fine. They do a good job cutting hair, but too much nonsense conversation and inattention to customers to have me coming back. read more

Worst haircut I've ever gotten. Showed them a picture of a nice looking faux hawk on my phone, and I come out looking like my mom gave me a cut... And my mom is pretty bad at cutting hair. Really though? My hair was already styled to a faux hawk when I walked in, all you had to do was shape up the sides and make it look a little cleaner. But you end up ruining my nice hawk... Not going back to this crappy place in havertown again. Don't act like you know what you're doing, ask customers every step of the way if the cut is going according to what they're looking for. I'd give you a half star if it was possible. If you can't do that style, then be honest and say you suck as a stylist and you can't give that cut. I took my son there today for his first haircut. I was very apprehensive about it but I have heard many good things about this place so I decided to try it out. I called first to make sure they cut baby/children hair and they did. Of course my son goes in rare form as soon as we arrive and basically screamed the entire haircut. Finally!!! I apologize in advance for the lengthy review, but what a relief to have found this place. After my barber moved out of the area years ago, I have tried many different barbershops in the last 4 years. All the same: 30 minute, rushed and over priced, mediocre (at best) haircuts... usually a bunch of young attractive female barbers that offer you a Rolling Rock Pony and a scalp massage. How hard is it to just find someone who can give you a quality cut without all the other BS? I've been going to my last barber for over a year now, and while consistent, I never got exactly what I was looking for, but I settled for the overpriced 30 minute cut... Luckily I needed to reschedule a much needed appointment at my last place, but they were completely booked, so I got on yelp again and checked every review and instagram of every barbershop within a 45 minutes driving distance, and I finally came across Sweeney Todd's, and ultimately decided to book an appointment. I walked in, sat down, and was relieved to be in a real barbershop - not some men's club "barbershop"/salon. My appointment was with Justin, and when I sat in the chair, I told him what I was looking to have done. (I apparently have difficult hair to cut, as every barber I've had previously makes a point to tell me this). Justin didn't seem phased at all by my wavy hair and callicks, and not only delivered on exactly what I wanted, Justin gave me the best cut I've ever had. I got home and my fiance said the exact same thing, and couldn't stop talking about how great the fade was. I must've been in the chair for 40-45 minutes, and not once did I feel like he was rushing to get to the next customer, instead I felt like I was getting a quality cut with the full barbershop experience. He took the time to fade my beard, line everything up with a straight razor, and shave my neck, so when he told me it was $25, I couldn't believe it. I would have been charged at least $40 at my last place for all that, and it wouldn't have looked anything close. You can really tell Justin's a perfectionist and takes great pride in his work, as he checked me over multiple times before I got out of the chair, making sure everything was lined up evenly. As far as the other barbers in the shop - everyone I saw get out of a chair had a great cut, so I don't think you can go wrong with any of the barbers here - but I personally will be coming back to Justin for my cuts. Sweeny Todd is a fantastic traditional barber shop. I don't understand the other posting in here that criticizes them for not taking appointments. This is a man's place if there ever was one, appointments are for "salons" and "beauty parlors." Although very clean, and with a great owner and staff, it has a perfect man cave feel inside, with couches that force you to slouch, an always on tv showing sports, men's magazines, and the best - a straight edge razor to finish your cut, depending on whom you get. I would agree that it can get crowded, but folks move through quickly and the wait is worthwhile. If time is a factor, then go early on a Saturday or during a weekday if you can swing it. I don't think it could have more of a guy's shop feel without serving beer and whiskey. That said, I'd also bring my daughter there in a heartbeat for a trim. I'm lucky our family can walk there. The first time I had gotten my hair cut here right off the bat a guy made me feel uncomfortable because I didn't sign the book and come to find out he was the owner. With that being said I had may haircut done By guy named Tom (a Vietnamese fellow) and it was the only haircut I've ever thought was good enough to go back for even the owner was a total pretentious prick but that's tolerable because Darius isn't cutting my hair. So I set my last appointment with who I thought was Tom and the confirmation comes back to confirm with Eric. Now Eric had never cut my hair so texted Tom and told I'd be there for my 2:00, good to go right? Lol.. I walked I and Tom was cutting my hair?? Come to find out it was toms last day and the owner was trying to poach me with a $5 coupon. Hey $5 won't get you anywhere with that attitude. Glad I found a place in Havertown for a straight razor shave! I have been driving to exton and into the city to get them. This place was only $20 bucks and just as good if not better. 2 hot towels and one cold. He really took his time and made sure everything looked right. I will be going back here on a regular basis. I will have to try them for a hair cut too. I was told that a hair cut and a shave is only $30 bucks. If the cut is as good as the shave this will move it up to 5 stars. read more

Good barbers Bad Times. I like to think it says it all. There is on Barber who is the owner is the best there by far. There is also a woman there who is also fairly good in my opinion. Everyone else is a shot in the dark. The only bad thing about this place is that they don;t take appointments at all. They are walk in only. I have waited only 30 mins some times but on average it could be an 2 hours or more. I'd say if you need to be in and out wait until they start to take appointments cause you could be there a while. read more

Have even started bringing my son to get cut by Celia. Appointments now get you in and out in 30 mins. And most importantly, you can be sure he will be in the shop by 8am.
