In a nutshell, I received the absolute best cut I have ever had for an insanely good price. The 45 minute wait, which isn't even that bad for a two-man barbershop, was absolutely worth it. I walked in on a Wednesday and waited for about 45 min. During that time, Mark was offering donuts to the customers that walked in. When it was my turn to go up, I ended up getting John, an apprentice. He and I walked through how I wanted my cut, as I had a few specific things I wanted differently. After that, he started going to work. The level of detail he paid attention to was outstanding, and it was clear just how much care he was putting into my cut. This includes the prep work he did on my hair before actually cutting, constantly sizing up my hair and checked for symmetry and evenness, and simply taking his time to make sure he could give me the best possible experience and end result. Throughout it all, he kept up conversation with me and popped in and out of conversation with the entire room. Better yet, his actual work was amazing: smooth and even fade, excellent scissorwork, and proper shaving with a straight razor. As he was an apprentice, he only charged $15. I believe Mark, the main guy, charges $21. Excellent prices, either way. read more

Nothing but good words for Make Your Mark Barber Shop. I have been in search for an establishment like this for years now, and finally my search is over! Mark is down to earth and knows what he's doing. Place has a good old school mixed with new vibe, and the hospitality is awesome- beers, water, N64, and just shootin the shit. $21 for a "basic" hair cut which can't be beat. I've paid way more in the past an not been remotely pleased with the results. Be prepared to hang out for a bit if you're a walk in, but it's a sign of Mark's quality work and great customer service that he has a steady stream of guys coming in. Mark is awesome! Very friendly and he offers crucial advice for people who are confused or don't know how their hair looks like to the outside world. The atmosphere is vibrant and there is always a subject being discussed upon, expect a good amount of exercise for your facial muscles because you could be doing a lot of laughing! He's quick but very precise and detailed, got me exactly the haircut I wanted, and he even styled it off at the end as if I was about to do a photoshoot for GQ! Mark is without a doubt the best barber I've ever been to. He's welcoming, hooked me up with a beer while I waited, and is just a cool guy to chat with. And of course his hair cuts are just as good: he's thorough and has a great eye for style and what works for you. Went in today for my first-ever, in 40 years, professional beard trim. In the last three months, I've let my beard grow longer than it's ever been, and it was time to get it shaped and to get some perspectives on where it wants to go from here. Mark is the best barber I've ever been to bar none. I've been going to the shop for about a year and I'm sad I'm moving away because I don't think I'll ever find another barber half as good. It gets really busy - if you're a walk-in during the week expect to wait an hour or more. There's beers and video games to help you pass the time. Was referred by a friend & my first experience was unparalleled. Mark is very welcoming and laid back, and his skills go unmatched in the area.
