Never before in my life have I been able to find a place that both helps me to grow as an individual and completely accepts the individual that I am, no matter where I am in the process of that growth. I have personal connections with nearly every one of my faculty members. For example: I took a Marketing course out of curiosity during the fall of my sophomore year. To this day, as a rising senior, that professor (who teaches only one or two night courses for the College) periodically emails to check in with me and to keep me aware of various jobs/internships that may be available to me - and that's not even the field in which I've chosen to major! The friendships that I have fostered here at Sweet Briar are some of the nearest and dearest I have ever experienced. While many of my friends graduated with the class of 2015, I have no doubt that we will remain close, despite between states apart. There are so many opportunities to create meaningful relationships, be it on your dorm hall, in a class, on a team, onstage, or in any number of our myriad of available clubs and activity groups. I have been a Student Admissions Ambassador since the spring of my first-year and I have never once felt phony or cliche when showing off our beautiful campus to visitors. I am not one to stomach "BS" and would certainly never stand for speaking it on my tours. Just goes to show that all the love and positivity is 100% real. As someone who initially visited SBC to prove that it was NOT what I wanted, I ask potential Vixens to put aside any preconceived notions you may have about Sweet Briar or women's colleges in general. I know that SBC tends to be thought of as tons of rich, white, Lilly Pulitzer-wearing, equestrians. I will not lie and say that there is not a portion of our student body that fits this description. But I will also honestly and passionately inform you that not every Sweet Briar woman falls into this type. I have friends who are terrified of horses, who are the first in their families to attend college, who rock Goth chic on a steamy August day at noon. We all come from different backgrounds, have different goals, and different interests. But one thing unifies us above all else: We are Sweet Briar women who fought to save our school and who sure as else are ready to take on the world. read more

My sweetie & I visited a friend of mine here on winery wending from DC. The acreage this place has is incredible. They have awesome views as they are situated on a rise overlooking the rolling hills of Virginia. They have a beautiful Equestrian Center and many trails. This is a gorgeous all-womens school and very well outfitted and in a great, central location outside of Charlottesville & near Lynchburg. read more

One of my good friends brought me to the campus and it is simply amazing. There hundreds of acres of land on this historical college. The newly built addition to the library is very modern. Other good sites on campus not to miss is the monument overlooking the campus and the boat house. If you want to escape the city for a couple of days, then this is the place to be. read more

One of the best decisions I've ever made as I've started to grow into adulthood. Sweet Briar's close sense of community and sisterhood helped me grow into a confident, mature and fun-loving person, while gaining a ton of truly life-long new friends in the process. The courses are meant to challenge you and the professors are there with you every step of the way, and can really help you focus on excelling due to the smaller personalized classes. The campus is absolutely breathtaking. One of my favorite things was taking walks and bike rides around campus, especially in the spring and early fall- it's gorgeous. The people that you meet there are all so friendly and ready to lend a hand, say if you need a ride into town or just a study buddy for an upcoming exam. The equestrian program is amazing and the horses are all very loved. I took riding classes because I not only wanted to help keep in shape (when I started I was surprised to learn that riding really helps with balance and core strength!) but because meeting all of the horses and learning their personalities is half the fun! If you are looking for a school that is close-knit, kind, and has a ton of great views and even more amazing people, I urge you to really take a look at Sweet Briar. read more

My daughter is a rising sophomore pre-vet student double majoring in Biology and Chemistry with a Business minor. Amazing academic environment for anyone but especially impressive for science majors, awesome equestrian program, stunningly beautiful place to live, great social life, and a true community with high moral standards. Every Sweet Briar alum that I've met has been an impressive woman. Don't you want that for yourself or your daughter? read more

Beautiful campus and wonderful equestrian program. I learned a lot while I was there. The professors are always willing to take time to meet with you and they truly want to see each student succeed. I thought being at a small, all women's school helped me come out of my shell and be more willing to speak up if I had a question or concern. There were plenty of social activities and outdoor fun to be had when I wasn't busy studying. I enjoyed my time there and don't ever regret my choice to go there. read more

My daughter attended SBC for 5 years and received her MAT in 2009. She easily found work and started her new "grown up" life with ease due to all the skills and lessons she learned. The small classes at SBC help her to challenge and be challenged. She found her life's passion, her love (married a VMI graduate who she met a mixer), and herself. I am eternally grateful to SBC for helping my daughter mature into the wonderful woman she is today. read more

This college offers a fabulous academic environment, and it is a wonderful place to visit. It has 3250 acres of rolling hills to hike and bike. Relax at the boathouse or scratch the noses of sweet horses. This campus boasts historic architecture and a stunning library. For students, the campus offers small classes, accessible professors, and rigorous academics. Students graduate with strong leadership skills and a can-do attitude that will serve them in all walks of life. Check out our unique engineering program! read more

Do not recommend, I would choose somewhere else. No matter what reason, just don't do it it's not worth the headache.
