The whole experience was really amazing, from the greeting to the cooking to the eventual eating of the finished meal. I was back and forth with the owner, Dan, who was very accommodating and willing to work with a larger number of people than originally planned. The place is a really charming and kitschy small catering space which looks like it could be your friend's apartment. The set up was impressive. Although a smaller space. Dan worked well to change the space around to make room for different situations. For instance, when we came in, there was a buffet of goodies set up to snack on while we caught up and enjoyed some homemade granola and yogurt, as well as various spreads and homemade bread. Then, when we switched over to the demo and cooking class, there was a giant movable table we all stood around to get instructions and prepare food. Eventually, when we sat down for our meal of freshly made fare, Dan moved over two more tables to create a long communal table we could all sit at and enjoy our creations. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and Dan and his staff were also amazing. There are few places in the city which provide this kind of interactive cooking experience. I looked into it, trust me! I would highly recommend this place for any kind of small private event i.e. a birthday, a bachelor/ette party etc. I cannot wait to come back and simply eat here for Sunday brunch. There were another two sets of tables further back and the downstairs also had seating. The stairs going down to the restroom are a bit on the narrow wide. I ordered the hojicha latte with oat milk, the apple cinnamon scone, and a savory scone. My partner ordered a coffee of some sort and the tiramisu sandwich (special). Service was very quick and polite! They warmed up the scones for us, gave us utensils for each food item, and brought the items to where we sat. Two scones and a latte was a very filling breakfast for me! Everything was delicious. The scones were warm and came with either a pat of butter or cream on the side depending on if it's savory or sweet. I especially liked the tiramisu sandwich and wished I had gotten one for myself. You could put a blindfold on me and I'd be able to tell you what flavour the cannoli or cookie is - it's that distinct and powerful and satisfying. We got: - Cannolis: All assortments of flavours (I liked the ricotta, tiramisu and amarena ones the most). The filling was consistently smooth and creamy, and the shell was perfectly crunchy. - Cookies: Tried the mango cream and coconut ones. But were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. And wow did the flavours burst when you bit into them. - Chocolate Babka: A tad dry on the edges (though the inside was moist) but I loooooooooved how much dark chocolate there was swirling in and around the whole loaf. - Strawberry Tart (mini): Good amount of strawberries, really smooth base cream, and the shell was melt-in-your-mouth awesome. - Bolognese Lasagna and Garlic Bread: The lasagna was super cheesy, which I love. And the garlic bread, despite being delivered, tasted freshly baked and had just the right amount of garlic.
