We had a small engagement party thrown for us over this holiday season (before Omicron took over everyone's lives) and our family had ordered the French Orange with buttercream cake. I had to write a review for this cake alone. Not only was it extremely elegant and classy looking with fresh floral decor, but it was absolutely delicious. This is the kind of cake that you can freeze the leftovers and it will still be delicious when you are ready to eat it. I'm not typically a huge fan of orange flavoured cakes, but it was a white cake, with some fresh oranges in between the layers. The buttercream tastes like there is some cream cheese or mascarpone mixed it, and it is lovely. I look forward to the next time we can order this cake again. read more

Yorkshire Pudding catered my Canadian wedding and the experience was amazing from beginning to end. Ashley and Sarah are extremely helpful and made my vision come to life. Sarah handled all of the rentals required (tables, chairs, linens, tableware, etc.) She made excellent menu and decor recommendations and both Sarah and Ashley jumped in and made suggestions when I was overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. The food was out of this world. The passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious. All of my guests were raving about how good they were and seeked out the servers for more. The mac and cheese served in little Chinese take out boxes was easily my favourite course of the evening. It was so creamy and cheesy, literally everyone's mac and cheese dream. We opted for stations as opposed to a sit down dinner. The tacos were loved by all, with the Mexican street corn being the talk of the dinner tables. The sliders were cooked perfectly and all of the toppings offered were really a nice touch. The kettle chips in the little paper bags were yummy. I loved having that crunch alongside my sliders. What I really love is Yorkshire Pudding really goes over and above when it comes to presentation. Banana leaves and roses are used on all of the tables and platters. It really adds to the look of the event. While I loved the French orange cake, it was absolutely amazing, we ended up going with the lemon cake at my husband's request. It was a dense cake, almost like pound cake. The buttercream icing was delicious and light. I would easily order this cake again. The catering staff were out of this world. They were the most friendly, wonderful group. Our backyard was a disaster when the crew arrived. The rentals were everywhere and decorations were waiting to be placed. Peter kicked it into high gear and directed the staff where to go and what to do. In an hour and a half our backyard looked exactly how I envisioned it would look. Peter not only served, but he also became the bartender. He had everyone laughing and was a joy to have at our wedding. The chef herself was fantastic. She stopped what she was doing to bustle my dress and chat with me. The other server (I'm so sorry, drawing a blank on names right now) was so lovely. She was smiling the whole time and everyone loved her. The staff were beyond professional, but engaging. They truly made the entire evening as amazing as it was. I absolutely love it here. It's a small shop located in Etobicoke which is pretty far coming from the east end of Scarborough. But if you have their cake then you will see why. When you walk in you are just welcomed by the beautiful smell of fresh cakes baking. You wish you could eat the air. I always get the French Orange cake with butter cream cheese frosting . I personally don't like fruits in cake but they to do it so it's not overpowering. The frosting is so rich and creamy. They are very tall cakes so you can get way more out of the suggested serving. They put a ribbon around your cake in whatever color you like and fresh cut roses. If you don't care for the roses then that'll knock off 5 bucks from the price. The cakes are a bit more than grocery costs but really you are paying for quality. Definitely worth the drive. They always have street parking available anytime I go. read more

We hired Yorkshire Pudding to cater our son's first birthday party on August 31st 2018. Before we hired them we did our research and requested pricing from 5 or 6 reputable catering companies in Toronto. Price was a big factor in our decision but we also gauged the interest from the first point of contact from each of the companies. Yorkshire Pudding scored on both fronts. Their pricing is reasonable, and Ashley, who responded to my inquiry and communicated with me throughout the process, was very lovely to work with. She was prompt, detailed, patient, showed great interest in our event despite it being a smaller event for 40 people, made valuable suggestions and worked hard to make our party a great success. Her outline for our event was very detailed and precise, and was constantly updated throughout the few months of our planning. On the day of the party, her staff arrived on time (WE were the ones late because of building elevator issue). Despite us being late, they did not just sit around doing nothing, they started setting up. They were all kind, thoughtful, and proactive. They offered to help arrange the furniture and the flowers and party decors I brought (which I believe is outside of their scope of services but they were happy to do it). The ice machine in the kitchen did not work, which was an unpleasant surprise, and the bartender offered to go get ice at the convenience store downstairs. He also offered my husband some help with unloading the drinks from our car. Later on that evening, he asked what time I want the candles to be lit, and all of a sudden they were done! Another staff member assisted my mother-in-law heat up some food for the birthday boy. At the end of the event they offered to help us pack up all the flowers and decorations, and even found us extra boxes to pack our stuff in. I did not think a catering company would/could go so far but these guys obviously do! I have read all the reviews on Yorkshire Pudding out there and I know they have good reputation but even with a high expectation to begin with, they still blew us away. For food, we ordered a good selection of hors d'oeuvres, a tasting plate, a taco station, and a sweet table with cupcake tower and a few other desserts. All of them received raving reviews from the guests. The roast pork bao and the taco station were especially big hits. My husband comes from a latino family and they are very discerning when it comes to tacos. Needless to say they loved the tacos and even went back for a third and fourth tacos. The French orange and chocolate cupcakes were to die for! All in all Yorkshire Pudding really exceeded our expectations in every way. The food and service were both top-notch. The staff members were discreet but they made sure everyone was looked after. Stefan the bartender would go around the room to offer guests refills on wine. Other guests had commented that he remembered their drinks. As I had to circulate and entertained guests away from the bar, several times he approached me to ask if I wanted any drinks. I did not have to go to the bar even once! We have done parties large and small but we usually cook and serve the food ourselves, and I have often wondered in the past if it was worth it to hire a catering company. I cannot swear this for every single caterer out there, but Yorkshire Pudding is definitely worth every penny! read more

I was referred to YP by another catering company for him as my order would be too small for that large company. I was having a simple 10 person cocktail party/birthday gathering on a Sunday afternoon. From my first contact with the company. Lee was in constant touch with me as we worked on the appropriate menu for my ' under $300 budget.' He steered me towards the most cost effective yet quality approach. I live close enough to pick it up, saving me the $40 delivery fee which I reinvested in more food. I arrived 15 minutes earlier than planned to find my order made and packaged to go. His shop was filled with a half dozen visible employees intensely working on orders. My family gathering were all eyeing the food before we announced that we were ready and were immediately circling the table filled with satays, shrimp, a mediterranean platter, spring rolls and more, and went back often singing the praises of the spread. In short, every aspect of my dealings with Yorkshire Puddings and my main contact, Lee, was professional, friendly, helpful and ultimately delivered food well beyond my expectations, the few leftovers of which I am enjoying over lunch the next day as I write this review. read more
