Absolutely love this place. The decorations are adorable and I love that you can buy them! Great place for a sweet treat. Very friendly staff, love the cute bracelet making station they had in the summer. I always get the Thai tea as a slush or a hot tea.

super cute bubble tea place located in waterloo. A huge selection of drinks available and they also have really niche and interesting additions like exploding tapicoa available. I tried the Mango milk tea ($6-7ish) and thought it was an interesting blend of fruity and milk. Additionally, with all the decorations and merch available, this place really comes into its own and definitely sticks out. This place definitely has figured out its niche, stands out, and is super memorable. Even if you haven't been, I'd come at least once or twice to check out the aesthetic and the unique drinks and additions they have to offer!

A quaint little bubble tea shop next to the University of Waterloo campus. You can also borrow board games here to play. Pros: - You can pretty much get any customization you want. - Service is great and staff is very friendly. - Jasmine milk tea + tapioca is great (not amazing but still really good). Cons: - Place can get busy and drinks can take a while to make. - The little staff area in front doesn't really make sense and is confusing. - Menu is confusing, in my opinion. - Popping boba isn't the best - lots of other places do popping boba a lot better. - Drinks are sweet (even with adjusted sugar).

This place used to be so nostalgic for me when I used to attend UW and there were literally only two bubble tea shops in the area. Sweet Dreams was the go-to place where all my GuelphU friends would drive down to hangout. The space used to be bigger with a couch. Now that I've permanently moved back to Waterloo, I have to ditch chain locations to support local. Some flavour drinks that used to be so good here isn't but you can't go wrong with the taro. Whenever I crave taro bbt, I'd come here without question.

Super cool spot to chill or play board games over a great selection of bubble tea & food! The staff is super friendly & accommodating too. My go-to has always been the MALT bubbletea with tons of the wheat germ flakes soaked throughout the entire drink. Tastes like delicious soggy cereal which is totally my type of drink haha! The tapioca pearls are sweet and a bit more on the softer chewy texture. I'd suggest getting 25% sweetness! NOTE: this drink isn't listed in their main menu, you have to specifically ask for it.

This was an amazing experience full of kindness, conversation, and cuteness! the vibe was very anime-ish and they had many Sanrio, one piece, and My neighbor Totoro references..Overall the food was a debatable 9.5 as it occurred to me that the cupcakes were slightly hard, the cupcake seemed frozen but the sanrio(little twin stars) topper changed my whole rating with its cuteness..The lady who attended to me offered many compliments toward me and even asked me if I loved Sanrio (I was wearing a Sanrio t-shirt) and when I said yes she offered me complimentary hello kitty stickers with my order..The staff was amazingly nice, the vibe was adorable, but the food was a hard 'meh' and only was good to me because of the cute toppers and vibe! Overall the actual product of food like desserts wasn't something to jump though the roof about but the Boba was amazing and made me burst out of the roof (mentally) because of it flavor and signature tapioca (or delicious jellys). 10/10 review Would recommend for any trip to Canada..

Definitely one of the more preferred bubbletea places now. This place has gotten a lot more homey and cutesy with the type of merch they sell and the atmosphere they've furthered. It's changed a lot during my time studying at UW and I have to say I'm quite impressed with how far they've come! They used to sell a small selection of plushies and boardgames, but thats now expanded into more plushie varieties, boardgames, home decor, clothing, and many more!! It feels like they've really put themselves on the map on how community based they are. I love it!! Not to mention, their selections have improved with their varieties of bubbletea and foods. Ive grown quite fond of their foods now and really recommend their sandwiches! They're seriously delicious!

Sweet Dreams is generally regarded as the best place to get bubble tea in the KW area, but I personally think it is a bit over rated. The restaurant has a lot of unique drinks that you can't get at other bubble tea places like smoothies, or "icy swirl" bubble tea which has blended ice cream. They even have food options such as dumplings, sandwiches and soups. My personal favourite is the dumplings and their homemade soy sauce. The best thing about this restaurant is that it is a great place to hang out with friends since they have a large selection of board games. You can stay for as long as you'd like as long as you get a drink. Although the restaurant has a lot of unique drinks and food items, the milk tea is just okay. Milk tea from other bubble tea places are way better and I think sweet dreams ranks somewhat low if you compare solely milk tea. The restaurant also gets really busy at peak hours such as noon-dinner time. If you're looking to hang out with a big group you sometimes will have trouble finding a table or feel very cramped as the restaurant is not as big. The wait time can also be extremely long. In the end I did enjoy my experience and will return in the future. Milk tea: 3/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

Cutely decorated tea shop for you to grab bubble tea and play some games with friends. I ordered a passion fruit non-milk bubble tea with tapioca. The tapioca is much softer than other places. I ordered mine with 0% sugar so it wasn't overly sweet. The board game selection here is small compared to actual board game cafes, but they carry the classics like Monopoly, Battleship, Jenga, etc. It can get quite crowded and busy as its location is so close to campus. I wouldn't recommend studying here as the music is really loud. It's a great spot to chill after classes.

**3.5 stars** Overall: good but not great milk tea with long waits I had a taro soy milk tea with boba - I'd wanted real taro in it but they didn't have any. Maybe I'm spoiled by Taiwan/California shops where you can find real taro (especially if the shop sells taro tea), so this was a bit of a disappointment. The staff were friendly, but it was rather busy so we waited 15 minutes or so to order and another 10 minutes to receive our drinks. No stars taken off for this though! Just something to keep in mind. The atmosphere was super relaxed - some boardgames are available and there are plenty of tables for small groups.

It is INSANELY busy, especially on hot days!! They have a ton of options so there's something for everyone. The food looks really good too. I got the chocolate mint milk tea and it was amazing. They also have several lactose-free options! Update: I returned another evening to get drinks and to play board games and my experience was amazing! It still took a little while for our drinks to be prepared, but we were so busy playing games we didn't mind. The staff was incredibly nice and very accommodating.

Super cute bubble tea shop with other food/tea that's a really good spot to hang out with friends! Their bubble tea may not be the best in Waterloo but it's not bad at all and I prefer some items here to other shops around. They have some food items like sandwiches and soups too. The best part about Sweet Dreams is the board games you can sign out and the cute décor that changes a lot. Great spot for a date!!

I was expecting too much, I'll admit it but even if I wasn't I would still give it a meh. The ambiance and decor is really cute and the board games you can play with friends is really friendly! However, I went for the bubble tea and I got a pomegranate flavoring with lychee gelly, ummm no idea what they actually served me it tasted like fruit punch! The gelly was nice and different, I do think that more bubble tea places should offer different flavors! But in the end, I will never go back, which is a shame but after the expensive bubble tea and lack of remembering my order, can you really blame me?

My new found favourite bubble tea shop! The cafe is definitely designed with students in mind, with its cozy and homely interior coupled with power points readily available which makes this place a good place for studying or just hanging out with friends. You can choose hot, cold or icy for your bubble tea which is something quite unique and cool especially if you like to switch up the texture of your drinks once in while. read more

Would not recommend coming if you have any food allergy or intolerance. I am lactose intolerant and ordered a milk tea made with almond milk (as I was pleasantly surprised they offered this) with caffeine free tea, only to realize later that they did NOT use almond milk or make caffeine free. Will not return. read more

The wait was absolutely ridiculous I've never waited in the same spot so long in my life even at amusement parks. The BIGGEST issue is that they will have no one taking orders for 10 minutes at a time. And then when the order is done it takes another 10 minutes for each person to receive their drink. They require a much better system. Or go when it's empty. read more

They need more staff or a way to rethink their methods for handling capacity as it can take up to 30 minutes to receive a regular 'to go' order in later evening hours and the staff seemed stressed with all they had to handle. read more

I've been to Sweet Dreams numerous times as a student in Waterloo. They have awesome bubble tea, and I'm a frequent visitor. However, the food isn't the greatest and is certainly overpriced. If you want to pay $15+ for a bowl of instant ramen noodles with one sliced meatball, then be my guest, but when I go there, all I focus on are the drinks! read more

I've tried other bubble tea places & this one takes the icing on the cake ! I went on a Thursday night around 8pm not too busy at all. The staff is super friendly and their customer service is on point ! The banana bubble tea tastes like LAFFY TAFFY! The pina colada .. reminds you of some place hot. And the mango milk... the macaroons are divine as well. The red velvet and chocolate cream are delicious !! I will definitely be making this place a part of my summer plans !! Especially considering they have all sorts of games you can play .. just remember your ID so you can swap out a game ! read more

I used to go to Sweet Dreams with my girlfriend regularly but after a few poor experiences we stopped going often. Tonight we decided that we would give it another shot. Big mistake. I ordered a mango real fruit smoothie that tasted like chalk and cool whip had been blended with the hopes that something decent might spawn from the combo. My girlfriend got a lemon-raspberry strawberry icicle dream which tasted great but was offset by the fact that they barely filled the cup 2/3. Best part of this experience is that it took thirty minuets, I will give them that they were busy but they had ample staff that decided to chat instead of get to work. Really used to enjoy this place and I know they can put out great tasting bubble teas, service is definitely their forte. I hope they can pull it together but unfortunately I will not be returning to see if they do. read more

The bubble tea is good, I enjoy it. That's why sometimes I'm willing to put up with the subpar service and ridiculously long wait times. Most times I wait at least five minutes for someone to take my order, during which the staff either avoids my presence at the cash completely, or walks right into me. I've waited up to twenty minutes for a drink. I don't enjoy the atmosphere, either; the blender is extremely loud, the lighting is too dim, it's way too crowded and the chairs are so uncomfortable. Not an enjoyable experience, and I'm not so sure the bubble tea is worth it anymore. read more

Although the bubble tea itself is very decent, the service is astoundingly slow. I walked in with no one in front of me and waited 20 minutes for mine. It's as if I've ordered a steak dinner. The atmosphere is nice if you have a massive amount of time to spare. read more

I don't know how every review isn't 5 stars!! Hands down, the best bubble tea!!! I've been going here for over 15 years and it will always be me go to place!! The only downfall is that I don't live next door. I would rather drive 25 mins to this place rather than 5 mins down the road for bubble tea...that's how good, fresh and consistent it is here! They also have a loyalty stamp card that's a huge plus for people like me. They have lots of options in flavours and the atmosphere is very friendly and upbeat. I make sure I bring all my out of town guests here and I've never had anyone disappointed. Highly highly highly recommend Sweet Dreams!! read more

It's great, really good tea, snacks etc, the atmosphere is pretty fantastic too but the one thing I have against the place is the time it takes. A bubble tea can take upwards of 20 mins so if you're looking to just grab and go, you might want to gauge the crowd levels. read more

why do you state you are open until 2 and then tell me at 1:15 the kitchen closes an HOUR before the rest of the store does....not conducive to business considering you market yourselves as an after hours drink AND food place. The quality of their bubble tea has gone down a lot over the past year; their milk tea tastes extremely watered down. Even worse than their bubble tea is their service-which is possibly the slowest service I've ever seen in any restaurant. The last time I went, 45 minutes passed between when I walked in the door and when I walked out with bubble tea, which is absolutely unacceptable. I could have walked to chatime in the same amount of time and gotten much better quality. read more

Went for the first time to enjoy some pastries, my girlfriend used to get when she went to…read moreuniversity in the area. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. You can barely hear the staff and when they come to you they seemed as if we had no time to look at which pastries we wanted. We spent roughly $40 on several items. Everything was put in a bag so all the delicate pastries and macarons were squished and did not make it home. I also grabbed a coffee which I couldn't even drink.

This is the most wonderful hangout spot in Waterloo. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the bubble tea is the best i've ever had, and they allow alterations to drinks without charging extra (ie. almond milk or more sweet), the staff is a collection of some of the coolest kids in the area and the snacks they serve are perfect when you need something to nibble for a study break. I enjoy this place more than chatime or other places in toronto because you can mix flavours and they have healthy options like fruit smoothies or looseleaf teas. Also they have FREE board games, and they are new and interesting ones that i have to learn to play every time i bring friends. Overall its a great place where the community is drawn together to play games, have fun, and drink tea. Cant go wrong. read more

Wow. Still amazing service and still customizing drinks with soy/almond milk, half sweet, and less ice. I enjoyed my taro hot milk tea and my friend had the special of the day brown rice rice baby with grass jelly! Had this at other teashops but the one here is hands down the best one yet. So nice to support a local independent business and happy that the service and quality of drinks is top notch! read more

Really enjoyed the drinks!! great service and awesome atmosphere to hang out and chill or study. So many choices of drinks and premium milk teas. Also, they customize their drinks to any sweetness and cream. My girlfriend usually gets her drink with honey and milk. Bubbletea at this place is not just another drink, but an experience. Absolutely love this place! Great service and they've always customized my complicated drinks to my liking with almond milk and soy milk with half sugar and less ice. I've been coming here for years and just tried their Brown Rice Rice Baby (cute name) with grass jelly and it's SO ADDICTIVE. Will be back! read more

I expected it to be a nice place to try bubble tea and food but honestly the portions were tiny and EVERYTHING was microwaved or reheated. We literally saw the people pull thing out of freezers and microwave them. The orders were wrong and the service was pretty crappy. read more
