The worst service ever!!! Didn't even get a chance to try the food. Sat down at the bar. Chairs awfully uncomfortable!! Second. Took 10 minutes for someone to even say hi to me. Remember, I'm at the bar where all the servers are at. And they were not that busy. It was Mother's Day. I was traveling and by myself on a hard day as my Mom passed away 2 years ago, and my mom always enjoyed local mom and pop restaurants so I had never been to this place. And when she did she said she was training a new person, ok???? How about trying to train her to take care of customers!! I ordered. And 27 minutes later, NOTHING! For just eggs and biscuits and gravy! She never even came back to me for water. Rude rude!! I finally just walked out. Unbelievable! Wanted to grab a quick bite....we actually wanted breakfast, but they stopped serving breakfast and it was probably 1030ish. Disappointing, but I understand and quickly assessed my lunch options. We decided to order an appetizer and then split a lunch plate. For the appetizer we got the loaded fries, since they were hand cut as we were sitting there. Overall the loaded fries were okay. I think they went too heavy on the cheese and the other noticeable thing was that the cinnamon in the chili was a little stronger than I would have liked. For lunch it was a Big Sexy Burger which had a double burger, pimento cheese, bacon jam and maybe some other stuff. But those items mentioned sold me on trying it. My only criticism about the burger would be the pimento cheese, it seemed to be heavy on the mayo and not as much cheese, but overall a decent burger. I think the real star of the meal was the onion rings, I would definitely recommend these. Now that we tried their lunch, I am looking forward to trying their breakfast menu. read more

This is supposed to be a new spot in Perry so we wanted to give it a try since there are not a lot of local options in Perry. The menu is basically the same as it was under previous ownership. Burger and hot dog options that appear and taste like frozen options and prices that would lead you to thinking there would be more there. If you want a decent burger while paying a little more this is a good option in downtown Perry. read more

A new refreshing take on the diner/burger/icecream shop that was Schultze's, but now with great new owners, new improved quality, and new creative menu. The food is incredible and the wait staff are great! Do not miss out on the cheese curds with pepper jelly, the big sexy pimento cheese burger, or any of their gourmet icecream flavors! I am so sad to have to write this. I am not one of those people who run to Yelp every time they have a minor inconvenience and publicly bash establishments....I LOVE to leave great reviews. Alas, Sweet P's is so night and day from the old establishment, I had to write this. My wife and I patronized Sweet P's on Saturday, 6 April 2024...this was our first visit since they purchased the previous restaurant (Schultze's Old Fashioned Soda Shop). We were really looking forward to this visit, as we LOVED the old place. The interior and exterior looked the same, and the menu had some of the same menu items. Obviously missing was the ice cream shoppe...while Sweet P's has some limited ice cream, shakes, and floats, they have nowhere near the variety that Schultze's had, and they got rid of the ice cream bar (no more sundaes, malts, or any of the huge assortment of specialty drinks that made Schultze's so popular). We sat and ordered drinks, I ordered a sweet tea. It was terrible...they do not know how to make the classic southern sweet eat that you can find in just about any restaurant in Georgia. How can you mess up sweet tea? I then ordered the Nashville Chicken sandwich (my absolute favorite thing on the old menu), along with an order of cheese curds, and my wife ordered the Classic Burger and french fries. It took 30 minutes for our order to come out (note: there were a few people there, but it was by no means "busy"). The chicken sandwich was an immediate disappointment...it was TINY compared to the old version, and was just a small piece of chicken, a couple pickles, and a tiny bit of some sauce (was NOT the Nashville hot chicken sauce that the old version was smothered in). While the chicken was tender and cooked well on the inside, it tasted like they burnt the outside a bit....overall, this sandwich was a huge disappointment, and certainly not worth the $13.00 price. The cheese curds with pepper jelly were pretty good. My wife loved Schultze's burger, however Sweet P's version was also really disappointing. In addition, some of her french fries were not even cooked thoroughly. In all, we left Sweet P's absolutely crushed that such a popular, vibrant, and mouth-watering establishment (Schultze's) had been turned into....whatever this is. Perry has lost one of their gems with the sale of Schultze's...and its replacement Sweet P's is just a generic, sad shadow of a restaurant with marginal food. read more
