We tried cardinal tracks (chocolate ice cream with chocolate-covered raspberry cups and fudge swirls) and business brew (espresso and vanilla ice cream with espresso flakes and fudge swirls). The cardinal tracks were good but the espresso flavors from the business brew was nowhere to be found. It just tasted like another chocolate ice cream.

Don't do it, you philistine! There are restrooms just down the hall with a drinking fountain you can use. Also, be sure to visit the courtyard on the ground level, and their awesome 'tribute to the Art of Dairy' cow-fountain, replete with bas-reliefs of the various stages of milk production.

I quickly picked up a few items: Dutch letters, almond horns, almond tarts, and blueberry filled Dutch windmills. The first three items have a strong but not overpowering almond flavor. I especially liked the almond horns which had a crunch but chewy and buttery texture. I also really liked the windmills and wished I had ordered the raspberry ones as well. Even though they offer one thing each day, you can always get a hamburger and they also will make you just a larger tossed salad, which I get frequently when I don't want something heavy. This is a very nice little place with 4-5 tables and a counter. The family that runs the restaurant are all very nice and take good care of you. It is just a very pleasant place to relax for lunch. They also have very good ice cream and it is a popular place for that in the summer. You may find homemade pie in season. I enjoyed strawberry-rhubarb this past June. They have a selection of handmade candies. They also have an interesting selection of gift items from décor to food items. I count having been here over 30 times in the last two years. I will continue to come back for my lunches. I used to alternate with Zederbaum in Hubbard (now closed) and Los Altos in Story City. Now I am pretty much dedicated to coming here. Why not? We could hear people talking in the back though. There was a space heater on behind the counter and someone's purse sitting on the back counter, so I know at least someone was there. Between the drink options and the general store merchandise, there is so much to look at; so many new things to try. My go-to was an iced Thai milk tea with boba, but I recently tried the taro milk tea and now I'm hooked lol. This last visit, I had my daughter with me and she asked if they had a regular chocolate shake (they don't), but the employee that was taking our order was incredibly sweet and helped us pick out something that would work. She made a chocolate banana shake and just omitted the banana, as well as added frozen strawberries on top for my daughter; it was delicious. One of my favorite things to get as well is the matcha mochi; I'm so glad they carry them! Service: Every time we've been in, the employees are wonderful. We're greeted with a smile and positive attitude as well as patience. They are quick and efficient when preparing your order. This last visit, one incredibly sweet employee even came out to give my daughter quarters (from her own wallet) for the claw machine. She most definitely went above and beyond :) Ambiance: It's quaint and cozy inside. It's pretty well organized and kept very clean. There aren't too many tables to sit at, so it can get crowded if it's busy, but it never really seems to be an issue. The variety of items available is awesome as well as the large selection of freshly made-to-order drinks. They have frozen items that you're able to warm up and eat there as well. This is a great little spot for people that want to get some work done also; it's like a little coffee café, just better.
